Another addition in the next version is detailed game stats:
This shows up in the game menu instead of the old limited data. I could not resize the screen any further, but there’s a lot more below it :-)
It only works for the worlds started in the latest version, before that the game wasn’t collecting the data, so you see this instead:
One of the stats is “Easiest Game Mode Used” which shows whether anyone claiming to only use challenging actually used creative or harmless to help himself build that great thing :-)
If you have any suggestions what else I should be calculating statistics on, please let me know in comments.

a moving road or sitting on your furniture while going to your destination with secret doors opening and closing via piston is already way much cooler than cart more techie looking. That’s what I think.

Lol cool man. I’ve been curious about something for years now. Ever since the whole idea of world seeds came out. What exactly changes the world? Is it each individual letter in the seed? Words? What does the game recognize? How do the letters/words change the block variance and variety?
It’s unlikely he’ll respond to you, so I’ll try my best. Simply due to the word ‘seed’, I would assume the terrain generator is using a lot of calls to random() functions. Of course, computers are purely logical and cannot actually create anything random at all. The best they can do is start with some number and do a whole bunch of math operations on it, each time you need another random number. It will appear random to the user, as there won’t be any noticeable pattern. All it needs is something to start with. A number, word, the exact time, or even moving your mouse around the screen (used in some encryption) can all ‘seed’ the random() function. Kaalus uses a word. Each letter will be converted to a number (A = 65, B = 66, probably) and these will all be added or multiplied to get one large number. That will be the seed. So you won’t find any patterns, like ‘aaaaa’ gives you all jungle. Unless I’m totally off about how he has designed terrain generation.

You can use Dropbox within Survivalcraft to upload/download as many worlds as you have space for.
I propose to introduce detailed statistics for mining (copper, iron, diamonds, etc).

Sometimes folks will brag about how long they’ve lasted in cruel mode, but they make regular backups and when they die they cheat and continue from their last back up.
Is there anyway to record that the world is a back up?
Through file managers? (at least for Android, I don’t know if is possible for Wp/IOS

The false means it is a copy, not the original world file as created in-app.
But Kaalus would have to think through how to avoid conflict with sharing Cruel Mode worlds, which are also copies. Hmmm.
Great idea! If Kaalus added some code that regularly checked the ‘days survived’ of the world, and recorded it in the game data files (not the world file), and then checked the ‘days survived’ of a world against that record whenever loading it, he could display that it was a backup. But there are loopholes that they would use. 1. If they uninstall the game and reinstall it, that would probably wipe the record. 2. If they use a different device after they die (or pass it among friends). 3. If they manually edit the world file. So it might not be a viable idea.

Noticed the “furniture designs in use” stat. Does this mean we can only place 1024 furniture blocks total in the world… or we can only have 1024 different kinds of furniture? I can see myself using certain “furnitures” over and over again hundreds of times or even thousands of times. For example I wanna make a dirt step, of course I could skin a step, but that one mean sacrificing a step design someplace else.

Yeah, I have a 54 room hotel and casino in a world I have been working on for almost 4 years. That’s a bunch of chairs and beds and TVs and would eat a lot of a 1024 budget.
As far as the dirt… I was kind of thinking pretty much every thing could be used in furniture design. But I could be wildly wrong there. My thought was you build your furniture with anything, and the new block would take on its look in miniature, but would inherit the properties of its component blocks. Like right now I use brick steps to give my “Great Wall of Awesomeness” castle like (torret) feel at the top (like: __–__–__–__ ). But of course you can just fall right off if your are walking up there and step wrong. I was hoping to make a brick like block, but hide some fence parts inside that would provide the same barrier protection that a traditional fence makes.
There is a limit on total number of designs, not furniture blocks placed.

The 1024 is the limit of designs, not actual pieces of furniture. So you could have one chair but use it 20 000 times without a problem. You can only have 1024 designs, that is like 1. chair, 2. bath, 3. basin, 4. kettle, 5. table … …. … … 1023. roof tile, 1024 painting of grandpa – finished, no more. What you can do though, is to swap out furniture sets, but then your chair might become a toilet or a sponge, or your roof tile might become a pillow.
By the way, roof tiles are on my favourite list. I really am so tired of using stairs for roofs, really.
What are you guys’ favourites for furniture to be? Chairs, tables, fridges and beds are obvious of coarse.
My favorite would be detailed railings for decks or bridges, instead of stairs and slabs. Cant wait to try it out!

Thats called binary. Almost no one uses Binary now. Our computers already have the ability to break down simple codes like java and c+ (used for all androids) and break it down into commands the cpu can understand.

I spent 4 hours getting ready in cruel mode. Finally with iron tools, enough food, enough saplings, enough wood and enough seeds to sustain life on an island. I built a boat, set out into the ocean. I saw a island and headed towards it. then rain started coming down but I kept going. then I got struck by lightning and died…
my question is after we die in cruel can we set it to a new gamemode like challenging or even a new gamemode like cruel adventure (just for showcasing worlds- no interaction, only available in worlds that had cruel mode.) or something like that so even if we do die we can still use that stuff
I had a feature request list I posted a few months ago. One of the suggestions was “Allow played to fly around the world (but not interact with it) upon death [in Cruel mode]”.
Kaalus apart from multiplayer, mine carts have been a frequent request. Since SC is heavy on electronics, I suggest that you rather go for an induction system, like maglev. You could have it work like pistons where you could build things on the inductions platforms, alla mine carts. It would be great also if these vehicles could move extremely fast, but with gradual acceleration.
Also, please give us longer distance digging and building in creative mode. This should be a simple modification. Please please.

I’m annoyed / saddened too. I don’t think there will be any answer about the demo… I have heard that older versions “would not be supported” but that can’t be right – as long as they are still sold in the app store.
What I don’t understand is why Kaalus doesn’t start selling some of these cool new features as in-game purchases. I bet if he offered optional packs of features (like furniture or pre-built objects, and another for game stats, one for Pistons, and another for underwater plants) I bet he could make more money in the long run.
Then existing customers can choose what they care about and feel like they are not being bypassed.
Question on pistons, don’t know if I missed the answer in the video or the OPs. Do the pistons kill? Yeah I know that sounds kind of sick… but I thinking making a tunnel ala Indiana Jones style would be cool. You know, a tunnel where things shoot out of the walls from both sides and you have to time your walk perfectly or you get smushed.

Good Idea ! I thing The Piston Must be A Favourite Thing for all the adventure map creator! Like in a Tunnel…Looking for Treasure….then The Men run through many traps such as Hiding Dispenser that shoots(Move by the Pistons), Hiding Lava below the Floor (Move by the Pistons Too!) Im survival player and i want to tell you (kaalus) about dessert in the middle of woods,lion and tiger in frozen area is so very anoyying, can you take care of this ? And dont forget about durability

That can be computed pretty easily. One SC day = 20.48 EH (Earth-Human) minutes
…and 1 SC year = 87.381333 EH hours, or 87 hours, 22 mins and 52.8 seconds
It would be very helpful if there were a way to access the stats in adventure maps. Then we could design quests and find out if they actually were completed…
2 suggestions for creative only:
– Make it so you can’t be set on fire
– Disable wetness
3 suggestions for adventure mode options:
– Disable wetness when Adventure Survival Mechanics is off.
– Add a “Keep Inventory on Death” option. I have a map which I can’t release because of losing items on death.
– Add a “Saved-Sleep” adventure respawn mode. When you die, this would reset the world to the state it was in last time you slept.

yes since 1.29 with the larger caves, ore is very hard to find many times, especially iron. I once played for days even with caves and found only 12 pieces of iron. Not nice.

Entiendo mucho el han trabajo que usted a realizado es bárbaro todo lo que se puede hacer con el creativo, es algo muy grande lo que hace usted pero yo en lo personal soy muy fan de la supervivencia, la exploración y el estar buscando para encontrar materiales diversos para craftear muchas cosas,si me alegra el hecho de hacer una casa épica en creativo pero lo que mas valoro es hacerla con materiales encontrados por mi, supongo que se podrá agregar de una manera precargada algunos diseños de silla o artículos para nuestra casa así como una mesa de crafteo una mesa de construcción en donde poniendo los materiales ya se pueda hacer muebles sin necesidad de ir al creativo,me encantaría encontrar:
1.-tesoros ocultos ( en un cofre ,porque sólo el ítem desaparece como en las tumbas)
2.-la domesticación de animales como los lobos, tal vez agregar samolledo en el hielo.
3.-mas variedad de cultivos. Es muy repetitivo sólo sembrar para hacer pan, calabazas y ropa necesitamos más variedad de alimentos.
4.-Mas minerales como el tungsteno, petróleo, o ácidos peligrosos. O incluso gas.
5.-con el tema del agua. Estoy agradecído con el rendimiento del juego pero el agua no me agrada ya que no tiene buena física.
6.-Algo que me gustaría es el hecho de disparar una flecha es bueno que se clave en la madera pero sería genial que se quedara también en los animales y recuperarla hasta que fuéramos por el animal muerto.
7.-Un nuevo enemigo como el hombre lobo tal vez un caníbal,indios,o tribus ostiles que espawnen en algunas zonas.
8.-tambien poder tener lianas o lazos o cuerdas para amarrar a los animales
9.-Que los dispensadores suelten agua,lava pero no la cubeta sino el agua o un cerillo que saque fuego y si es el expulsador que dispare fuego
10.- y por último y no el menos importante multiplayer para variar tal vez nunca se lo an pedido pero por favor denos alguna esperanza de que lo va a poner mande una señal de como anda en ese tema por favor.
