The release is imminent. I have been busy working on other projects in the past months, but there’s a lot of changes in 2.3 ready to be released.
I have long wanted to make mining with explosives more viable than it used to be in 2.2 and before. The problem with explosives was that they were too expensive to make. It took a lot of gunpowder, which in turn depended on rare sulphur, and even more rare saltpeter. More importantly, explosions had a large chance of destroying the minerals instead of letting you pick them up after the blast. This is changing in 2.3.
And electric detonator has a new looks too:
The restriction of using certain tools to mine certain minerals has been removed. Now, explosion is just as good as a diamond pickaxe. Minerals pickables are not destroyed by explosions any more – they might fly all around the place, but they will not disappear. Plus, natural rocks have been made less resilient to explosives. And powder kegs are more powerful. All in all, I think blasting will be the best way to mine quickly.

Anyway, apart from the ambient sounds those birds at the beginning look like they’re flying a little bit higher then normal, i usually see them fly a little above trees.
I don’t know if my eyes or memory is/are playing tricks on me but…. could that be a change? I keep unsneaking as if its a bug too sometimes and it happens often while I hunt birds on the ground, so maybe I’m not eating birds anytime soon…
Surivialcraft needs an own pace surival mode. No heat effects, no cold effects no posions. peaceful like other craft games would be amazing

@kaalus In the past versions I understood that Solid Copper Blocks could be used to slow the blast concussion of mining – with TNT underground. Is that still a thing? Can you build a solid wall of any material that will shield you from getting destroyed along with the surrounding stone blocks?

The only thing I would request is to add the ability to jump and place a block again. It made climbing up trees and getting the wood very quick. Now it’s just tedious. It made me feel like skateboarding again. Run and jump on the board.

I do have hope that Kaalus has listened to the Chinese programmers for mp though. Please include their ability for mods. I can no longer be satisfied without the wand (edit mode). Also holding the torch for light is a great mod.

I’m glad your back! Just wanted to say that many of us still find the game easy even with the many added survival mechanics throughout the years. Even at hard spawn, cruel mode there still isn’t much challenge from start to finish. The game in general is still basic and you can advance fairly quickly.
