Campfires

Looking at your comments I realized that some people don’t know you can stoke campfires with wood, to make them bigger and stop them from fizzling out.

Any combustible material will do, although the poorer it is (like leaves or grass) the more you have to put in.

Here’s how various size campfires look like:

Campfires

All the way from tiny to quite large – there are 15 sizes of campfire.

During dry weather campfire reduces by one step every 20 seconds. When rain or snow is falling on a it, it reduces every 5 seconds. Therefore a fully stoked campfire will last about 5 minutes when dry, and only slightly over a minute when it’s raining.

The default campfire you place down is at level 3, that is you have about 40 seconds to stoke it before it turns into ashes.

[EDIT]

To stoke a campfire you can either throw wood at it, or tap on it while holding wood. Either method works. Just don’t throw bombs or gunpowder kegs in :-)

It’s caled seus skin creator , it works really well! And it’s easy to upload to survival craft as long as you have a Dropbox account! The only thing is it cost money, but it’s well worth it

Wow! I’m so excited! Already planning pretend camping trips, arctic research on the moose, (I like to pretend I’m a national geographic animal scientist) cozy up on a drug in a sweater near a fire, do pretend horse competitions in the cavalry boots, listen to the water. (I love water sounds.) I wish it was out for kindle fire but at least I won’t have to worry about glitches once it’s done! Thanks Kaalus! I can’t barely wait! Good job!

What can i do with the ashes from it it would be ideal if you could combine it into an ash block or something combustible.

I thought about this too. In real life, wood ashes are sometimes used in plant fertilizers. I thought that it would be cool to use this in the game as an alternative to saltpeter.

Also, I know you have lots on your plate at the moment and your not in “new feature” mode right now, but just thought I’d throw this idea out there too…. Cantalopes. ;-)

  25. Posted March 29, 2015 at 04:44 | Permalink | Reply

I think ashes should be in a recipe for something, like mulch or something.

    • Posted March 29, 2015 at 04:45 | Permalink | Reply

It’s a renewable resource for fertilizer. Maybe it is renewable, but it is less effective than the good stuff (saltpeter)

    • Posted March 29, 2015 at 04:47 | Permalink | Reply

Maybe it’s crafted using ashes and leaves

  26. Posted March 29, 2015 at 04:52 | Permalink | Reply

Or maybe tools can be crafted with steel rods as well as sticks and the blade only determined the strength/speed while the handle (stick or steel rod) determined the durability. Sorry, I’m getting carried away with ideas.

Kaalus, Could you add dots to the bottom of the inventory menu to help indicate where you are inside it? Sort of like how Android ‘ s home screen does. Simple yet extremely helpful.

    –Bug found!–
    Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 GT-P3113
    Android: 4.2.2
    Survivalcraft 1.27.3.0

    1. Audio bugs about the water ambient sound. Here’s what happened: “I set a campfire and threw a gunpowder keg. Of course, it exploded and burned me. I’m at the beach at that moment, so I destroyed a sand block to let the ocean’s water flow through me. But I didn’t hear any water ambient sound. I tried the Lava Bucket to see if there’s an ambient sound on the lava. There was. I tried the Water Bucket to see if there’s an ambient sound on the water. There was none.”

U can create walls 3 blocks high, around the back and sides of the campfire, and leave the front open or add a fence. Throw single burnable blocks on top and it should stock it to the max and remaining blocks will hover until they are needed. See the pic below
