And to think, I wasn’t even sure building the tall elevator was possible! Now I know. Of course it is. In general, there seem to be two ways to make it:
- Replacing pistons under the lift carriage to keep moving beyond the 8 blocks piston limit
- Self-propelling carriage, with one pushing and one pulling piston, sequentially pushing and pulling themselves in one direction

I am still working on 2.3. Nothing to show at the moment, but I want it to be a quick update. There are still some bugs in 2.2 caused by doubling of the height, and they should be fixed sooner rather than later.

Trapdoor lifts are so last-decade LOL. They aren’t anything new or special.
I know, I thought I was being clever and reminding him that well always have an infinite elevator!
Trapdoor elevators are so cool though! Kinda noisy, and harder to build too than piston elevators too, that’s for sure.

It seems you found a bug, thanks for mentioning it, its probably due to the way i built my car, since it was made to barely fit the player in so that it would barely move. Could be easily fixed by just making the car more spacious

I can’t seem to fix the issue even with a more spacious carriage, ill probably make it 2×2 if that’s the problem. anyways, I decided to remove the covering in the middle of elevator so that you can see where and how the pistons are replaced. I may make a 2×2 version of it if I have the time, but for now, here’s the new link:

Kaalus, your game (Survivalcraft) is greatful and pleasant. I know there is just little people who play in PC platform. My suggestion is, for people who play this game in PC (like me), could you add the mechanic of “putting blocks continuously”?
We use the right click button of the mouse to put blocks, so the mechanic that I meant would avoid broken right click buttons haha.

There is a third method but it doesn’t directly use pistons. Instead, it uses a ‘hack’ on the “Moving Blocks” entry in the project.xml file. Moving Blocks define the stack of blocks being pushed by pistons. However like the moving carriage method, it only goes one way. And it’s a ‘hack’.
Hello Kaalus, Good evening from western Canada. I had a question about something that I noticed with electrics, regarding logic gates specifically. I was trying to build a castle gate using a flipflop switch built out of 2 sets of Xor and Not gates and attaching the two outputs to “open” and “shut” pushing pistons. After about an hour of messing around, I realized that the pistons didn’t react the way I expected them to. Once the circuit was activated, the pistons opened and the shut the gates continuously, acting as if under constant current.
I set to work to diagnose the issue by planting lights in place of the pistons, only to find that they reacted as if under constant charge as well. So I figured that it must have been my circuits… but when I rebuilt the same circuit outside with plenty of space to make sure it was right, I found that the lights reacted correctly with the flip-flop turning on one or the other respectively with each press of the button. Once again however, the pistons I placed afterward acted as if they were powered all the time, regardless of if I hit the button or not. Does this have something to do with digital vs analog power types?
This brought up something else I was wondering about. Why do the one way “not gates” give power to things? Place a not gate and you can power lights, pistons, or whatever.

P.S. I started a survival game on “harmless”… and it’s pretty dang nice! I’m in the mountains (Not nearly as winded as I thought I might be all the time) with allot of rain. But somehow I lucked out on temperature? haha anyway. I feel like the reason many find “cruel” to be too difficult, is death by creature. You die once and you may as well start over. I’ve been running around for a few days and just barely cobbled together a set of clothes in that harrowing event. Had I been chased all over the mountain by the HUNDREDS of carnivores that I seem to be surrounded by… this probably would be a much different–and shorter–experience. Maybe we just need a little less aggression, and less animals in the general vicinity that want to call you lunch. Not a major overhaul or anything.
I’m not Kaalus but I can answer your questions.
Sometimes a circuit can misbehave if it has direct connections – ones without a placed wire between them. Try to build it like that and see if that fixes it. Since it works when spread out, that sounds like your problem.
Not gates give power because when nothing is connected to an input it’s a ‘0’. So the not outputs a ‘1’ (‘F’ actually).
(P.S., I’ve tested the game and it only allows about 27 creatures in close proximity.)
Kaalus, would you consider one small change please?
When we make furniture meant as lighting, the flame and smoke can totally ruin the effect. Since we can already use either the Torch or Wicker Lamp to make a lit piece, is it possible to not include the flame/smoke effect when we use the lamp? That would actually give a logical reason to allow both. Right now, there’s no difference so little point to use the lamp rather than the torch.
As an example is when we make furniture streetlights for our cities. They look great until we turn them on. Then we get fire and smoke coming out of our ‘modern’ lighting systems. Not cool.

Just ask that electric lights be included in making furniture. Yes that is a good idea.
I think the problem with including a lightbulb is that it has to be powered. If he would follow this suggestion then there’s no need for electricity to be involved. Although I’d love to be able to shrink electrics that’s extremely unlikely to happen.

Kaalus please create a category for editor choice or recommended worlds. You can then include worlds you choose that will help especially new users to see the capabilities of SC. You should include worlds like this one, Hidden Room, Great Mansion, Electricity Unleashed, a good music world, Elevator by Spooner and well, I’ll recommend my TV world as well.
You can do this with texture packs, furniture and skins as well. It would even be best if you could host those item yourself, to avoid problems with downloads. If anybody deems his world etc to be worthy, they could email you a link. You could even ask some of us (like Stanimus) to help with it.
It would be great to have a standard set of worlds etc. It is a nightmare at the moment for newcomers to choose and the rating system does not work very well. It also seems that skins that are like spiderman etc are more popular.
You should also add a sub category in posts. When we post a world, we could mark it as electricity, adventure, survival, city, models, islands etc. Maybe you could give us the option to choose up to 2 categories, otherwise people might choose all.
And then you could also add a search option. CC needs an update, but above all, do this after MP only.
yes, you better fix everything you have to fix this update to make the game stable and then add more things in the next update
Could you add normally open and normally closed contacts in the next update? As far as I can tell you really cant use the logic gates we have now to get around the issue. Like if I want an output to come on is circuit 1 is on and circuit 2 to break the circuit you might say to use a NAND gate but the problem with that is if circuit 2 comes on the output will become high although circuit 2 should just be a “piloting” circuit.
Essentially it could be an item like every other gate. It could have two inputs and one output. If input 1 is high it will send an output of course unless output 2 is high in which case it would break the circuit. (This being a normally closed contact)
Or if there is a way to get around this please tell me. I feel that the SR latch may be able to do it but I have trouble using them since they confuse me.

Well first of all I just want to say that since I have remembered this game I have loved it since its inception, so with the new updates even more, the only thing I would like is the same as what was said last post, also I would like more species of animals of all kinds, also of trees, and food to be added, I would like to see the following:
-Animals such as caribous, elephants, crocodiles, antelopes, buffalo, kangaroos, hammerhead sharks, leopard sharks, tuna, snow leopards (irbis), yak, eagles, eels, vultures, gorillas, herons, cranes, panda bears, bears grizzly (A type of brown bear but bigger and more dangerous), Kodiak bear, stingray (I mean one of a big size like those of the ocean), dingos (Like coyotes but bigger, resistant and dangerous), emu ,, pelicans, lynx, turtles, komodo dragon, pike (Freshwater fish), Siberian tiger (A tiger larger and more dangerous than average), narwhals, whales, monkeys, mandrels, hippopotamus, flamingo, walruses, seals, red fox, arctic fox, obey of the snows, penguins, condor, pumas, impalas, gazelles, cheetahs, pavoreales and alligators.
-Trees like fir trees, cedars, acacia, cypresses, larches, mahogany, palm trees, apple trees, orange trees, junipers and pink cherry trees.
– Shrubs such as those of wild blast, whether blue, red, black, and green or yellow, the berries of the bushes.
And I think it would be all I would like to see in survivalcraft, I know it’s too extreme but I know all survivalcraft users will love it.

Omw!! This is truly amazing! I absolutely love the electrics in this game! The only limitation is your imagination! definitely going to build this! now we just need to adjust the design to stop on levels and you’d had one crazy tall skyscraper
Also thinking that we should have a place for us to have build comps, so each week we get a topic and have to everyone submits their best attempt and a winner is picked and the map is shared and that way we can see some amazing complex contraptions or funky build styles

I agree that the electrics in the game are amazing. So amazing that I’ve been building a CPU processor core. The increase in the complexity limit has really helped me out with it too.
POSSIBLE BUG
In a challenging world, I was defeated by a bear but was very close to my spawn point. When I returned to the place of my demise and gathered up the items i dropped, I picked up some things which were definitely NOT in my inventory – and other things were glaringly missing. In particular, I picked up a couple of rotten fish. I know for a fact that I did not have fish – fresh or rotten in my possession. However I DID have a couple of freshly caught birds.
Kaalus, please check in on this and make sure our items are not being swapped out for crappier items just because we dropped them?

Also, I’m pretty sure I saw an arrow bounce right off a bird as it was taking flight. It was pretty far away but it really looked like it bounced back towards me.

Well, i don’t ‘have’ one – I’m just one of the original members of it (SBC) and I’m very active there. And I’m pretty sure it’s still the most popular and active SC discord. Even so, we’ve tried having challenges and usually not enough people are interested to make it an actual challenge. But I’ll ask around – it might be time to start maybe a monthly challenge. . .
Before this forum dies again, i have a small gift for those who like building. I have done a bit of an update to my Roof tile Furniture pack in CC.
I have added coloured tiles by using my Johan More Colours Marble texture pack. I have also added basalt to get a few more colours. This looks very good on tiles.

I have also included my big door and fancy table etc. I have changed the door so that it is easier to build.

But seriously folks – the tripled height and reduced complexity problem are such an AMAZING boon for me! Yes, the huge mountain chains make an almost impassable barrier in survival modes but they also expose thrice the number of open caves just begging to be spelunked. Sure I have issues with some of the rest of the changes, but I’ll always have ‘issues’ with games. I just learn to deal with it – or work around them!
In any case, this still ranks highly among my all time favorite games and likely will for a long time to come. Now I’m just eager to see what the other 2 major additions are! Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long.

Well, about the world size, you should make it vary on device, because I play the windows store version, with about 345 Gigs of hard drive space available, so the space doesn’t effect me, it should vary, (as mentioned previously), like an iPhone should only have a few worlds depending on the size model.
Like if you have an 128 GB iPhone, Survivalcraft should have a lot of allocated worlds for that particular size.
