Corrupt worlds

There is another issue with the 2.2 update that is fairly serious. It’s to do with the world conversion process that rebuilds the world chunks in the new, 256 blocks high format.

If the conversion process fails for any reason, most commonly because there is not enough space on your device for the converted world data, the world might be left in a partially-converted state. This will likely cause some of the chunks go missing.

The space required for the conversion process is roughly double the amount of the world size in 2.1 format. So if your 2.1 world is 500MB, you will need 1000MB of space (plus some safety margin) to open it successfully in 2.2.

I have stopped working on the light problem and I am currently tackling this more pressing issue. In the meantime please be double careful when loading large 2.1 worlds. Make sure there’s enough of space on your device and keep backups (always a good idea with precious worlds).

The first sign of the problem is when the game hangs/crashes during the conversion process, or displays “Error loading world” message.

Again, the fault here is all mine. I didn’t make the conversion routine robust enough. Sorry!

Kaalus, you should create a Survivalcraft beta in the play store. You can invite testers to the beta using a private link or asking on the app page in the play store. That way advanced users could test the game, iron out bugs, and ensure casual players don’t run across any issues. It’s a bit silly to purchase a game that has not been thoroughly tested. You could even have a day one beta and the paid version beta!

I haven’t downloaded the game yet till u make sure its clean from bugs.
Ur a hard working, keep going mate.
But can i say something that the game is boring to be honest it’s dead because there is no goal in it nothing to explore like temples , villages and weird worlds. No one visit the sea because why we go there if there is nothing in it.
Make the game with a goal. Or something that make us go to find it badly.
    Take some ideas from Minecraft
I really wish if survivalcraft can be the best game at google play and app store.

I imagine you mean you have 2 GB of RAM, right? There’s no way a manufacturer would sell a ph one with 2 gigs storage in 2019 or even 10 years ago, unless you’re talking about how much storage you got left.

When you upgraded your cache systems the first time, nice large caves were created. Then with another update, they no longer were there. If you get to it, bring back larger caves please.

Also create caves on the flat plains.

Big mountains now have a bit too many cave openings, a bit like Swiss cheese.

Please give mimosa trees a different texture for diversity.

Give us different types of wood planks. Look at my texture pack (in Real colour TV). I’ve made my wood texture so that when it is painted, it looks like a different kind of wood. You use this technique as well for different biomes.

    Thanks for diligence.

I agree, the mimosa logs have the same texture as the spruce logs. It shouldn’t be to hard to change the texture now that all the programming is done. I also agree with different types of planks. I don’t know how hard it is to program but I would prefer it to a new animal or similar. Adding different planks will make Survival Craft feel like a a quality game. Right now I don’t really build with planks idk why but if there were different textures that might change.
Another idea might be to add stain. Kaalus could figure out how to get it but maybe you could get stain by obtaining tree sap and cooking it in a furnace with water. If tree sap were added I’d imagine you’d get it by chopping down a tree and getting a 5% chance of sap coming out. Hey! maybe then you could cook sap into syrup and mix it with bread to get toast.
Anyway these are just my wood related Ideas.

Instead of online multiplayer, first there should be LAN. I hate when I have to share my small phone and how small the UI is. There should be a option in world building for multiplayer on LAN and soon enough online.

why not sleeping bags? In challenging mode in frosty and cold areas it is important to stay warm. positive effect is you stay warm and dry. negative effect is you have to be without armor while wearing the bag. also you can’t move. So you can be attacked easily. So never wear the sleeping bag in unprotected areas.

Here is a list of all the known bugs in 2.2:
Note: if a glitch/bug is marked unverified, I haven’t witnessed it first hand, and have only heard it from someone else.

    TEXTURES
    • Limestone’s texture isn’t white anymore but it makes white pigment and marble. Also recipedia still says it’s a white-ish block.
    • Mimosa wood is identical to spruce wood.

    LIGHTING
    • Lighting glitches where everything is dark until you place a torch. (Caused by weather?).
    • Lighting glitches where everything is dark until you update a block (Same as above?).
    • Lighting glitch where everything is dark even when you place a torch (In a covered 1×1x__ area).
    • Unknown glitch with light passing through corners (Unverified).
    • Problems with particles when breaking light sources (Unverified).

    FILES/SCREENSHOTS
    • Files moved on Android (Unverified).
    • Screenshots not saving. (Unverified)
    • Corrupt files when transferred from 2.1 (Unverified, but Kaalus is already fixing).
    • SD card cleared when updating the game.

    OLD BUGS
    • Infinite fire glitch (Unverified in 2.2. Verified in 2.1)
    • Respawn position off (i.e. Respawning outside of your house, Unverified in 2.2. Verified in 2.1)
    • Old teleportation glitch with trapdoors (or slabs) in corners.
    • If a firework hits the ground it creates weird green particles.

    TREES
    • Cut off trees and dirt trees at chunk boundaries.
    • Leaves do not decay if placed by the player.

    RECIPES
    • Stone axe can use all 3 recipes, so everyone will just use the shovel recipe and not the other two, because they require more materials.
    • One of the bullet recipes does not require levels to craft (Possibly because it is a reverse recipe)

    FURNACES
    • Cell trapdoors can still be used as furnace fuel. Attempts to cook when you add or remove a trapdoor from the feul slot. Isn’t able to actually cook anything but still get used up like normal fuel.
    • If you remove the items from the furnace but leave the fuel it will still cook anyway creating infinite smeltable items.
    • Armor can be used as furnace fuel.

    STACKING
    • If you edit a stack of electronics it will change into just 1 piece of electricity instead of however many you may have had before.
    • Buckets don’t stack anymore.

    AUDIO
    • Problem with noise disappearing when digging wood logs in creative.
    • Random messed up sounds (Unverified).

    WEBPAGE
    • Files/Technical section not updated for 2.2.
    • FPS ribbon not in updates history.
    • Outdated app store badges (Unverified).

    MISC
    • You can pick up ice at high altitudes (Probably not a bug).
    • Rotten food turns into a compost block, instead of something you can place on soil to make compost (Unverified).
    • Unknown glitch with snow at a distance, with high resolution (Unverified).
    • Problem with water transparency where rendering chunks meet (Unverified).
    • Problems with paint and paint stripper bucket (Unverified).
    • Random freezing and lagging.
    • Glitches with thermometer not displaying temperature right in inventory/hot bar. (+16 temperature, high altitude)
    • Random glitches with water, when using buckets, and placing blocks (Unverified)
    • Girrafe weight is off (Unverified).
    • Bear sizes and weights are off (Unverified).
    • Problems with things being off screen on rounded screens (Unverified, mainly iphones).
    • Keyboard controls sections in the help menu isn’t updated for the extra hotbar slots (Still says 1-6).
° Have the keyboard controls even been updated?
    • Caves are no longer so huge, and appear too often (Unverified).

OK, I have tried to play the new version at last. I began with a medium starting point and I began in a cold world. I see myself as not a bad player at this game, yet I died twice and decided I do not want to try again. Maybe I will later try again, but it has become a bit cumbersome to play this game as I did. The fact that I cannot use the copper tools or even make a bucket did not help. I suppose with some practice I could learn new skills. it is more of a question if I really want to.

We”l see whether I do try again. I might, but I’m just a bit worried about newcomers to the game. Yes, they do have harmless, but many will probably skip that.

I do like the multi tool though.

    Add a way to talk.
TALKING LIKE THIS!!!! will scare animals away.
Or you could make it voice chat too, and it might attract them too!
Also make animals be de-aggro’d or run away using methods. These methods should be secret, but based off real-life ways to scare them off.
Like playing dead with a grizzly by sneaking and waiting, and playing dead with a black one will make you dead. You can avoid black bear by getting on top of something. Polar bears are very scary because they will eat you.
