Compost

Thank you for a great suggestion about rotten food. You know who you are :-)

In 2.2, rotting food is not useless. After a while, it will turn into:

Soil-0.png

Compost

Compost is another name for fertilized soil. You can place it and quickly grow rye or cotton, instead of having to waste precious saltpetre. Saltpetre is better used for gunpowder :-)

That is realistic. Instead of removing the feature, I think Kaalus should add a lot more food. Currently, all there is is meats, bread or pumpkins. And meat and bread is awful hard to come by.

To be sure, you place rotten food on tilled soil rather than the rotten food turning into a block all of a sudden. Right? If not, I’m good with waiting a few more days for the update. ;-)

Yes, we should place the rotten food on tilled soil like saltpeter, rotten food suddenly turning into a dirt block is pretty weird to say the least.

FINALLY! Jesus, thank you so much for adding such feature Kaalus! This is something that the game needed since farming became a thing, another step forward into a better food system. Next thing I’d like to ask you is to add more types of food and ways to conserve food, such as smokers and drying racks.

I second this! I love stockpiling, that’s one thing I really enjoy about the game. But one of my biggest complaints is not being able to store food for much longer periods of time. With the way it is now, I can’t have a kitchen with a bunch of food in dispensers since most of it will go to waste before I’m hungry enough.

I love this idea. But make a craft recipe for the compost. Make four rotten foods on the craft table become a compost. But not a block already fertilized, but a new item that can be placed on the ground. Like saltpeter. It would be much more realistic. Translated by Google Translator.

Awesome! I knew I saved all that rotten meat for some reason! Thanks for the work you still put into the game.

If I may, I’d like to point out two things that are my only major complaints about the game.

    1. I am huge into stockpiling, it’s one of my favorite things to do in the game. And it upsets me a little that I cannot store food. Before the rotting food update, I would have a kitchen with dispensers for each food, but it is not viable now since any food I put in there will rot before I am hungry enough times to eat it. Some ideas I had are these: 1. Using salt to cure the food and make it last longer (would give another use for saltpeter since you just removed one). 2. Something like an icebox (would give a use for ice). 3. Some kind of large container that requires a form of fuel, probably some type of powder. If #2 or #3 were used, it would be nice to be able to hook it up with a dispenser.

    2. This is probably my biggest one. I used to love building a log cabin or remote lodge deep in the snowy mountains somewhere. But since the sickness update, I barely touch any area near snow. It makes parts of the map mostly useless other than spruce trees. It seems impossible to even just travel through a snowy area briefly without getting sick. I don’t mind the decreased speed as much, but the camera shake and inability to move periodically when sneezing or throwing up drives me insane. It makes the game quite unenjoyable for the time you have to spend while sick.

With that said, it’s still an extremely fun game. My favorite mobile game for sure. Again, thanks for the hard work you continue to put in, and looking forward to the upcoming update!

Could you rethink the paint bucket crafts? Add one item for each color. Like a flower of each color. That color combination is very boring to do. For example, to make the color blue, you must first make the white ink, then make the gray, then the purple, and then you can make the blue color. Could not just put the white paint with a blue flower and get the color blue? I almost never use survival mode paint because it takes a long time to craft. For this reason it is also very difficult to make colored carpets.

With the new lighting model, have you considered making something like flashlights that grant you further viability in dungeons or at night, but is only directional? Or maybe rather than just placing torches down everywhere, allow the player to carry a torch that lights while would leave him also vulnerable as he can’t effectly carry a weapon too?

Now that I think of it will there be a difference in texture between compost and tilled soil, if not how will we know what is better for growing food when we place it. I think orange, green, white, dark brown, and black chunks in the soil would make a big difference like how saltpetre makes the ground look like it has white chunks in it

Kaalus, there’s some confusion on the implementation of this great idea. The question is whether the meat turns into a block of fertilized soil or will fertilize the block that it’s sitting upon. Some are assuming it will transform into the soil block so this will give them an ‘infinite’ source of fresh soil.
Personally, I hope that’s not right! Now I often just throw my bad meat out onto a lake. Will that start to fill the lake in??? If I kill a bunch of wolves at my door in the evening, will the doorway be blocked over in the morning? This would also mean that any dead animal will cause a forced chunk change, artificially bloating the world file…(lightning does enough of that!)
But OTOH we will have to be able to PLACE the bad meat, rather than THROW it if we’re going to have any control on just what we are fertilizing.

An alternative would be that it simply turns into a new chunk which we can place like saltpeter. If that chunk is out in the world, it would just despawn if we don’t pick it up.

    • Posted December 12, 2019 at 04:02 | Permalink | Reply

I feel like if it becomes a block itll become the item version not just place itself in your world. That way if you have a chest full they’d just turn in it.
However I also just hope its turned into an item like saltpeter and sprinkled on. I also hope you use rotted food to craft it rather than it just randomly doing it

I have a solution for you. The rotten food which is in the backpack or the chest will turn into saltpetre after a few days. But the rotten food which is on the ground will disappear after a few minutes if we don’t pick it up.

Hi! I can’t wait for this update.
This is a fun game, but the light situation is awful. Can you make a lantern or some sort of traveling light source. It isn’t practical to place a bunch of torches so you could see were you are going. There is also no way to light up underwater places.
Another thing you could add are other humans. I mean you have premade traps and graves. Perhaps natives or settlers? Some could be hostile and others can be peaceful.
You could even make the town’s and homes unique to each biome. Igloo and skin tents for icy biomes. Tepee like structures for plains. Longhouses and wigwams for forrest. European settlements could be kinda cool as well.
Maybe the natives can trade you items such as tents, tools, ores, and food. Even items you can’t make for yourself and can only achieve by trading.
The last thing you can do if fix the icy biome traveling. I often like to explore continents on challenging and cruel mode before I build houses and farms. When you spawn in winter areas, I tend to die alot sooner because of the flu.
Other things you can add that could be benifical to game play:
    *Backpacks
    *more food items
    *more easy foods like pumpkins
    *water

I feel like it would add to the game a lot if you added background noise to the world. If you dont wanna add music even simple birds tweeting and like crickets at night in warm areas. Then in snow biomes it could be mostly quite except for a calm higher pitched wind. Then the desert could be a lower pitch wind with a little “scratching” noise to be sand slinding against sand.

I also still would like to see foliage get the same attention as the animals do. More plants and trees would do this game’s exploration wonders. Then maybe a lightning bug screen effect like snow except more floaty and you’re good.

It’s just weird that a game about realism feels very gamey.

Hey, just had an interesting idea. Hand axes. A stone age tool used in real life. Crafted just like a stone axe, but without sticks. Also, maybe instead of getting cobblestone from breaking granite, you get rocks like with gravel. You would then craft tools with the rocks rather than whole blocks, making cobblestone blocks through filling the whole crafting grid with rocks. Of course, you’d need to get 4 or more blocks in return, to make it worth it. I feel like this would make the game very interesting and realistic. Also, I think trees need to fall, but not in the tilt over and become fallen tree sense. I think the bigger the tree, the longer it takes to cut down, but when you chop one block, the blocks above it drop into their collectable form. This would fix the main gravity problem. That’s all for now…thanks

I still think you should put SC on the Switch. You already have gamepad controls made so maybe it wouldn’t be that bad

I would give you some advice.

Use the sound generator to play the specified sound file (. ogg and other small files) that can be loaded into the EmbeddedContent folder of the archive.
Add canvas box to display the specified picture file (. PNG) loaded into the EmbeddedContent folder of the archive.
Add a model to the player to stretch the knee.
In the survival mode, you can dye the blocks that cannot be placed, such as clothes.
The multi impact box structure should be adopted to get closer to the animal model.
Release survivalcraft on Huawei app store and Xiaomi app store to open a huge market in China that can support 300000 players for you!

Você poderia adicionar a opção sede no jogo.

I think the game currently needs an overall expansion in all aspects of it imo. It has a lot of potential.

You have to think of the majority of people here. If that happened I would never play again and so would many stop or be deterred from getting it. A lot of us have financial situations and want to have fun but things are expensive. What would be better is if he wanted to make something where you can support him if you want to. Adding in-game purchases would end this game.

What the heck? One of the reasons I like SC is it does not nag you to buy stuff once you buy the game. How dare you suggest in game purchases?
