2.1.3 published to Google Play

Again, big thanks to everybody who submitted bug reports.

Here’s what’s changed in 2.1.3:

  • Experimental support for gamepads with digital triggers (e.g. PS3 gamepad)
  • Increased flu onset time (takes longer until you get it)
  • Increased food drops from large animals
  • Fixed horse control, horses would run back to herd even if rider was on
  • Fixed donkey saddled texture
  • Fixed and optimized broken water thawing/freezing and snow deposition
  • Speeded up block scanning, should reduce sleep times further
  • Fixed water bucket drawing
  • Fixed summoning horses by whistle
  • Reduced player food satiation (can eat the same food for longer before you get sick)

2.1.3 should be with you shortly.

      Better animal spawn. I no longer see herd of lions, wolves, and bears outside my house after I woke up.
      I sneak mode before sleeping.
      But
      • having trouble with birds being pretty sensitive now than before even in sneak mode (i can usually create arrows in day 1 — my game is on day 12 now with 0 birds killed) – slingshot might help?
      • spear now cutting or digging anything while aiming.

    Kaalus thx, BUGS there MANY animales (wolfs) spawn in single player in versión ( 2.1.2) is very imposible, there toó much, and when you start the game in biome cold, there’s nothing food in the start, and you have flu ver y fast,

    I have a huge question. At the forum, we have several turn-based multiplayer worlds running. One has been going since February. It really looks like the new changes will totally break these games. For instance, by the time it gets back to my turn, all the food I gathered in my previous turn will be rotten. It’s bad enough that I have to constantly replant the forests that are repeatedly burned to the ground by unrealistic lightning fires, now we’ll have to spend our first day restocking our food supplies.
    But, my question is whether in such a game, can it be set up so that each player has a different character? Even if we have to select our character at the beginning of our turn. Or will we have to start a completely new game? Or is it completely impossible outside of the split screen multiplayer? This way each player has their unique stats and levels, etc. We would like to upgrade and run the game with the new features but it looks like that may not be feasible…

    I want the gamepad buttons to be assigned, since my gamepad does not support the default button assignment, it happened to me in Minecraft PE, but when assigning the correct keys, the gamepad works correctly. It’s a Chinese gamepad, but it’s good for its price, and it has not failed me.

        And, this chinese gamepad only cost 3 dollars, and it’s good, the joysticks react correctly. In contrast the ipega that cost 37 dollars, are worse, since their joysticks do not react well.

    Multi language support should be a biggy on your list… I see a bit more activity when it comes to social media with NON English speakers. Especially the Russian/Spanish communities. I also noticed a lot of Chinese activity and it even includes some sketchy behavior, I think they have been modding/redistributing the game at a largish scale. One of the main ones being a translated version of Survivalcraft to Mandarin. I’m not sure if people are paying money or not as google translate only does so much but I’d like to give you a few links.

        I would love this!!! But I’m not sure how it is possible because as soon as it dispenses something it might pick it right back up if the dispenser is pointed up and set to dispense.

          Add something like a pipe to transfer items to chest dispensers etc. Would be great for automation of things

          Not too difficult, just add a setting within the dispenser, to enable or disable pickup. That way you can have both.

          This is really something we need that is very simple to implement (low hanging fruit).

      Most salt in the real world comes from evaporating sea water.
      Where do you suggest Kaalus put salt into the game?

        Salt would be a cool item to have occurring randomly in the game, maybe found under the ocean by digging seaward laterally from nearby caverns.

        * For example in the Great Lakes area, they have salt mines underground which when mined are great voids with stone / salt ceiling and bodies of water above that. When a breach happens you get a whirlpool capable of taking ships to the bottom.

        I would make salt deposits very sparse, but useful when you get some (like saltpeter).

    Kaalus, I completely forgot to tell you this. On IPad, when you try to type on a sign, the screen freezes though the game is still going. Before you could turn the screen upside down to unfreeze it, but now nothing works. So sorry, it’s been a while since I’ve typed on a sign!

    Kaalus please add reload button or combination button maybe for bow&arrow and guns and bullet for easy reloading while plying using gamepad.. So where not do the touchscreen again for easy reloading while playing with our gamepads.. Please.. Thnk you..

          Hey guys, it would be great if Kaalus could do all languages, but why is your language more important than mine? Why should he include your language and not mine. I speak Afrikaans and am proud of it, but I do realise English is the global language, even if I hate it. Do we want Kaalus to spend another month on language packs or new features. We can’t have it both ways.

          So, don’t ask for different languages, rather ask him to create a file with all the words in which SC uses, then give us an option to create custom language packs which we can upload to CC. Will this be a better solution? This way even my language can be featured.

          I had the same idea. Putting language packs in CC would expand the usage. We could create custom fantasy language packs. Rename blocks and mobs to fit better for adventuare maps and custom textures.

    They are killed by kaalus, predators are fixed, they kill through the textures (or kill them from a great distance.) How do they get it so? Because of this, my animals are killed constantly. Fix, please, I implore you.

    Bug? Thought I saw Giraffes give 4 meats and 4 leathers in Creative, but in Challenging only 1 meat. Zebras give 2×2, Giraffe should be 4.

    Bug – still see experience dots in Creative mode – killing animals, in graves.

      I have noticed another bug on the XP orbs, though Chris is right. If you fill an entire chest with stacks of XP orbs and then breakj the chest, You will recieve significantly less orbs than you put in the chest. I was at level 1 on creative and did that. I’ve advanced only at level 2 with 40×16=640 orbs.

        Best way is use the dispenser instead…then create a clock circuit so it will automatically dispense all the orbs

        Filling a chest with exp orbs and switch to challenging/harmless is not fun at all just for the sake of char level…well i play on cruel and currently im level 10 comes from hunting and mining

    After I updated to 2.1 I opened a world that I’ve been previously working on and everywhere where there are untouched grass blocks there’s water. The world was a flat world and I noticed when I opened all ofor my other worlds which were not flat the problem didn’t occur.

      I think that’s a bug caused by the new negative coordinates support. I have noticed that flat worlds in 2.1 are generated with flat chunks full of the filling block only on one quarter of the coordinates available now. Maybe Kaalus forgot to change the flat world generation to work with the new coordinates… I could explain you more, but I am limited by my English vocabulary… : (

    there is bug when you are trying to drop split item in quick slot, all item is dropped.
    ex: u have 10 rotten meat, when u try to drop one, u will drop that 10 rotten meat.

    I can’t believe the game is this far in development, but the fishing rod still hasn’t been implemented yet. I would love to have one so that going out into the ocean could perhaps be a way to get food (especially those Sea Bass)

      Yeah. Since the food is now rotting and 2.1 added just stuff that makes the game harder, fishing rods became a need now for helping us finding food easier.

      Yeah. Imagine hopping off your raft just to machete a barracuda in the unforgiving waters and not being able to collect the food item due to neighboring fish-based mobs beating you to it. :-(

    You once said that animals wouldn’t spawn if there is enough light, well I’ve just seen a couple of wolves spawning right in front of me at night, on the grass of an enclosed area, where torches are placed three blocks from each others… this actually happened to me twice the same night, it is kind of annoying and Im certainly not going to replace all grass nearby with wood or cobblestone! Seems to happen mostly with wolves, though, from what I’ve seen.

        I know, as I said, it is kinda stupid to have to replace all nearby ground with wood or cobblestone… that also means gardens, mines or anything like that, there should be a way for the game to recognize when a space is lighten and/or enclosed.

          Nope, in minecraft mobs won’t spawn if there is enough light, but in SC, they seems to do so, at least wolves from what I’ve seen.

          I completely disagree. This is NOT minecraft and shouldn’t be. If light alone stops spawns, then animals will never spawn in daylight. Then it’s just another wussy minecraft clone.

          in mc/mcpe the animals (chickens, cows, horses etc) spawn in daylight
          the enemys (creeper, sceleton, zombie etc) spawn in dark
          “light alone stops spawns, then animals will never spawn in daylight” If it were true, there would be no animals…

          i think in mc/mcpe there are two animal species: neutral and enemy
          neutral: chicken, cow, pig etc
          enemy: zombie, sceleton, slime, enderman
          (ok, in enemy there are two species too: neutral (attack when you hit them) enemy (attack when they see you)

    2.2 update for this should include some creative items as well as a multi shot pistol cause the musket is strong but the reloading is annoying. So a revolver like gun that does less damage and takes a while to shoot again would be great. 4 shots maybe but 6 would be me realistic. Ik this has nothing to do with 2.1 but I’m in ios.

    When you change screen reslution in Ver 2.1.3 find a stack bug.
    I can play with high quality but stop at medium and low.
    Stacked when I change screen reslution.

    Hello, Kaalus!
    I noticed a bug and have some ideas for improvement. No, this is not the addition of different objects, but the improvement of the mechanics of the game.

    This bug is in a very short time sleeping. When you getting a message “You are tired, take a nap”, your sleep scale is half empty. But when you go to sleep and rest quite a bit, it fills up again very quickly. You need to sleep less than 0.1 days to fill half the scale. Of course, this is not realistic and must be fixed.

    Now about improvements:
    1)In the old versions of the game there were some possibilities that disappeared now:
    When you split stack of some item from the bottom panel and threw out this item, it fell one by one. Now the whole stack falls out, and it’s very uncomfortable;
    When you slpit a stack of one object, and then moved another, splitting remained active. Now this does not happen;
    When you opened the “body” menu or chest, crafting table, furnace, and then pressen “craft” menu, the previous menu just was closed. Now you need to press the back button or press “craft” menu twice, and I still can not get used to it since version 2.0;
    Can you return these possibilities again?
    2)In recipedia, when you opened dicscription of some item, you have two buttons in the upper left and upper right corners to scroll the list of items on. But you have not such buttons in recipes (you only have a buttons to scroll the recipes, not the items), although this would be useful.
    3)Sometimes the hardware back button, pressed during sleep, wakes you up instead of opening the world menu, although for awakening there is already a tap on the screen. I would like to see in such a situation always open the world menu.
    4)Getting a new level is too easy, you need the same amount of experience that the first level, that at the tenth. At the same time in games with level pumping, such a system operates: the higher the level, the more experience is needed to go to the next level. But, perhaps, only I think getting a new level is easy :D

    And a bit more. Since the crossbow was introduced, there is still a bug that allows you to lower the string after the arrow loading. Now the arrow does not disappear when shot from such a position as it was in 2.0 before, but the bug exists. To do this, you need sleight of hand, it can be only shown on video. If you are interested, respond.

    Perhaps it has been mentioned before, but how about the following:

    -An build-in template world that shows every asset and possibility of the game. (Like an electronic videogame, an amzing house with small models, and some physics examples. (But the filesize needs to stay extremeley limited though.)
    -A build-in electricity example (electricity guide) world, like the one from MgBlitz81 called “electricity unleashed”.
    -Next to the default texturepack, also a build-in super realistic high resolution version based around the same theme of the original.

    Because I always had the feeling that first time players never got the full introduction to the possibilities of the game, they are so expanse that some new players might want everything in one small place to take a look on the amazing possibilities the game has to offer.

    Good day all

    Kaalus, the issue of dispensers has come up again. I’ve mentioned that a setting in a dispenser could give it the same option as chests to pick up items. This can also be done by using chests as feeders, or even both options. This is low hanging fruit and easy to be done. Please do this in the next update. Thanks.

    I’m having texture bug in my old world. Just old world. I generated a new world, had no problems.
