Yes, Survivalcraft will get menu music from version 2.1. Listen to some here:
There are several different tracks that get randomly crossfaded, so the music should be different every time.
Maybe at some point I will add in-game music, but it needs to be situation dependent and non distracting.

Again you’re going above and beyond with this new update. I can’t wait to try out all these great features. Personally, at some point I would also like for there to be an option where we can disable the cross hairs and all other UI for a cinematic viewing and recording experience. It would be awesome if it that kind of thing is made possible sometime in the future. Other than that, you’ve really made something great here.

In-game music would be cool, but I think it’s better without it. I mean, irl you don’t just go somewhere and hear random music. Maybe if you add it, add a button In settings to turn it off. It would be also cool if the music changes by the mood of the game (e.g. changing depending on weather, biome, etc)

I think that he is going to release it now because one of them was the “big fish”, other one was “transfer.sh”, and lastly it was this. So I think he is going to release it now.
I can effectively say this is the most useless thing Kaalus has added. Hammer was blah but it does have it’s moments, pistons are stupid expensive (more so now with rotting food/flu) painted everything just was awful and made so many maps hideous. This takes the cake though as it does nothing for the game.
Thank goodness he was smart enough to leave it out of the main game, If I want music I just copy the end music from the arena, of course good luck hearing it over all the animals trying to kill you with their screeching…
Furniture, pistons and painted everything is mainly for creative anyway, to add details and more freedom in building. It is everything but “useless”
Um, are you being serious? Hammer is anything but useless, have you seen the rich and expansive furniture that people have built?
Again, hammer is over rated, it has it’s moments/uses so it’s blah. If I have the resources to make one sure I’ll get 1, use it to hide bases and maybe smash someone else’s stuff, but other then that it removes blocks and wastes them. So to me, being a logical person/realist, I don’t like it that much.

Awesome kaalus! It sounded like Native American music and I love Native American culture makes me wonder maybe you will add native Indian tribes in the game maybe I’m not sure

Feature Request:
What about adding some sort of radar map… something like halo based? It’s only useful for situatio al awareness within 50 ft or so, and as you walk/run it narrows down to like 25/10 ft.
What about a topographical map during the pause screen… something like statecraft. Nothing fancy, just an every grown map shrunk down to 10,000th the normal view from above? Useful for situational awarwness on a more massive scale.
Before that, again…. how many times do I have tell everyone?! BIOMES NEED TO BE FIXED! THEY ARE WAY TOO SMALL!!! Also for many several reasons so please let everyone know this is something important to fix

maybe there could be an option to play our own personal music as well that would be neat or have a electric block that would play music stored on the device or downloaded with the world
Before Kaalus adding NPCs wait!!!! He must first fix the biomes problem. Small, close, not varied.
I hope the npc will not be constantly be your enemy but you can become it’s ally by reaching a certain lvl perhaps or doing something for the npc.
Kaalus, can you fix the bug which is making biomes larger and more varied? This isn’t something to joke around, I’m serious. The one of the top 3 things I hate from Survivalcraft is the biome generation! 😠 Can this please be fixed, I’m asking nicely. This is a bug! If fixed, it will have so many benefits and will work well with the new features: The multiplayer distance limits, the leveling, the flu! so don’t think that this suggestion is like adding green unicorns!! NO! It’s just simply something that will be the most useful in Survivalcraft history.

You should try a jungle biome +16 temperature and +16 humidity it is more enough to have a jungle biome which I freakin love
You know, I’m not stupid. I played SC for 4 years and It isn’t reliable to change the world temperature and humidity because you wouldn’t find other biomes. Think.

Indeed. Normal terrain worlds have really slim biomes. Oh there is a jungle there, but now it’s freezing and cold, but whats that, a desert is a few feet away! It is not realistic, and this is where Minecraft has the upper gains, in their fantastic terrain and biomes. Because of that, I stopped using a normal terrain worlds and instead used the temperature and humidity scroller to make custom temperature/biome worlds.

I got used to the music part, but I do not like the singing part at all. It’s too…theme-y. SurvivalCraft is not an indian themed game. And the home page is more about beautiful landscapes,and not survival.
I think it should be a little more natural. Maybe use some in game noises.
How about a nice score, along with some ingame noises. Some wood block-breaking sounds and some walking noises. A lion’s roar. Then plunge into the water, as the music gets a little more suspenseful. Rain! Thunder! Fire!
I think that’d fit a lot better. And it wouldn’t feel out of place to anyone. :)

Perhaps a “midi-like” system like they did for the Super Nintendo will releave the CPU… It only requires to implement the instruments, but not a compressed song, after that, the software decides what song is being played back… With this you can even create randomly generated songs, and cost practicly no filespace.
Perhaps a different song can be triggered by a script that decides to play a song when a series of events has been fullfilled, like when it is getting evening, animals attack, etc. (It can be attached to the script that makes the animal attack, or any other script.)
But… I do like the Indian song, it is mythical, soothing, yet intense, and it does fit the survival theme, so it sounds good in the menu systems!

I love the music that was added. To be honest I might launch the game sometimes just to listen to it. Anyways, have you guys considered uploading your new sound track(s) to like youtube.com, iTunes, or other music related apps? I would pay just to download the music because it’s amazing.
