Not only it allows you to use wires for decorative purposes or to make them match the environment. It can also be used for marking wires when building complex devices.
On another front, the new feature is moving forward. Actually, I added colored wires to help me with something to do with it. I also managed to let it be affected by electricity, in addition to crafting.
Will tell you more later.
Btw. I haven’t yet found any sensible service that allows people to vote on pictures. We need one to do the screenshots poll. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

I don’t think that’s really needed since something that is obvious about it is going to be polarity within circuits. Red for hot, black for ground on items like batteries, yellow green white etc. for accesories and other connections. I took basic electronics in college, so for me something like that is highly obvious.
I really don’t think Kaalus is making a massive change to electrics. ‘Polarity’ isn’t something you add as a side note to a huge feature release.

I’ve not tried it but http://www.poll-maker.com/ seems OK from looking. The coloured wires are a great idea, where will they be in the creative inventory, just under Electrics or in the Painted category? IMHO normal wire should go in Electrics and coloured should go in Painted.
It is a quiz creator. Kaalus cannot insert images there. Why not a poll via twitter.

It already connected to each other(See black&white combination on the pic above). It is obviously colored by a paint bucket.
I’ve been saying this forever – at least it feels this way. It would allow for more compact structures, that isn’t a big deal in creative but in the other modes where you need to mine your resources it matters. It would also allow us to have two different wires cross different corners of the same block.

Well, maybe later there can be electricution and insulated wires and silver wires which are much more electrifying than copper. :-)
More electrifying as in increased current? That depends on the electrical source, not the wires, although that’s a good idea. Could be used to electrocute hostile mobs, set them on fire and such.
OK, I thought I heard somewhere that silver wires are unsafe but work better.
While silver, like gold, is a conductor, it only conducts low voltage currents due to its rather low melting temperature, which is lower than copper in fact. Therefore it’s relatively unstable. Gold would be more suitable for this use.

I have always thought that 90* wire-through blocks or L shaped wire-through blocks would be extremely useful.
God yes – a couple years ago I even posted an idea for a sensible recipe for it on the forums. Not hard to think of, still uses six blocks, and three wires. To me it would totally reinvent the entire concept of Using electricity inside structures in the game. (Both positive and negative)

I would be posting pictures of the ALU(look it up on wikipedia if you don’t know what it is) but I misplaced an AND gate in the full adders and now it will be faster to restart the ALU
By the way the ALU itself only handles unsigned addition and subtraction if you’re lucky I might add comparison operators(ie. =).

I found a ***BUG*** it has to do with wires going between corners and still not transmitting a “signal”. I will post an image as soon as Dropbox downloads onto my iphone.
***Minor BUG*** XOR Gates are dropping OR Gates
That’s actually not a bug; the back of the XOR gate shares the texture of the OR gate. I saw the and thought it was a bug, but it kept spinning and it turned into a XOR gate. They even share shape, and that’s why they are able to share textures.

Well they get a turn too. For a while it seemed it was for mostly survival players anyways. They can have some creative updates. Anyways, it’ll just give him mor time to think about a cool survival feature
Its been awhile since a survival feature was updated…i think the musket.
Really that wasn’t too long ago. Remember 1.29 took about two or three weeks to work on it
Also, remember before 1.29 it was maybe 1.24 when creative had anything added. So, really survival players have been getting pretty lucky

Also, colored wires should not be able to connect to each other. Uncolored wires could connect to all colors.
It should allow me to place crossed wires on the same block without crossing current. allowing for me to make smaller electrical worlds. this means.. I make a wire go horizontal AND vertical on the same block with two different purposes for each (colored) wire.
Heck if the blicks run on 32bit now.. maybe even diagonally… Oo

Excuse me Kaalus, sorry to interrupt you, but I found a bug on the iOS version of Survivalcraft Alpha 1.29. This bug is only on the iOS version of Survivalcraft. In this bug, some of the 2D items have outline glitches on the outer square of the 2 dimensional item. I think this bug is only on the 64 bit iOS devices. Please fix the bug for Alpha 1.30.
Feature: Make wires glow to signal power going through it… Or some other appearance change to assist with designing or troubleshooting.
A neat tool could be power/electricity sensor. You could have people get schocked if they work on a powered circuit….
Some people want wires to not show their state but it should be an option in creative at least.(it is way easier to troubleshoot glowing redstone than boring survivalcraft wires)

Personally I believe you and your kids should be choosing the winners. How will you control who is voting and prevent double voting. It is easy and simple of you choose the winner. If people are angry over your choices, then let it be.
Kaalus?! I thought you where a survival guy! Why a lot of creative mode features going to be added? And by the way everyone remember the time he said: “you’ll like it even if you’re a survival guy like me! : )” then does it mean that there’s an other addition thats a top secret that will be in 1.30? and when he said: “We had literally a dozen new ideas every minute, there’s not nearly enough time to try them all. That will be up to you.” Back to me, so Hm?… That reminds me of a suspicious feature that’ll be added… Why did he say WE, WE in every fun they are having? Does thismeans that this feature is literally something fun together? And when he said “that will be up to you! ” what?! Up to us waiting? Waiting and waiting? Agh! What do we do now?
Just remember that survival does have a creative element to it. Just using bricks or stone blocks in survival is a creative action. When I build a house in survival mode, I want it to look good. I do not mix different blocks. Maybe in the beginning when I just try to stay alive I will build ad-hoc.

Good Idea. I think he should make it so that if wires are connected to a power source(switch, button, battery)but nothing else at the end than they should spark or or something like that.
That way you can electrify water and kill all of the fish in like a 10 block radius.

In the previous posting, I posted about my new texture, but I think most missed it. Please check if it and give me some pointers. It is my first attempt. Most is a combination of other textures, but some have been done by myself.
The world’s name on community is: best combo real 1.29 1024.
The Block Texture is good, well done Mr. Steyn, but there are some things that should be fixed…
1) The Sulphur, Saltpeter and the Raw Bacon Textures have some Weird white Pixels that aren’t erased very well…
2) Missing Buckshot Texture! (0_0)
3) Fireworks are… Well… “Trasparent”… Probably because they uses the Old Diamond Texture…
4) Wire Through Bricks uses the Old Green Led Texture…
5) Adjustable Delay Gate Doesn’t have a true frontal Texture
6) Place a couple of Ice Blocks and you can see a “Grid” between the blocks
Probably I haven’t explained well, but I think that this picture may help you on what should be fixed on your Block Texture

I have done quite a few changes to my texture pack, especially the minerals in the basalt which still had the granite textures that I have copied from another texture. I also created stained glass, new seeds, paintings etc.
I have also fixed the errors you mentioned.
By the way, will 2048 texture work?

No problem. I tried to keep it useable in survival and creative as much as possible. I had 2 versions in the past but was a pain to keep updating them both. So tried to add as much as I could to this version so everyone could benefit.

WordPress has a free PollDaddy plugin that allows this. I thought you had used it before for other things (?) I thought it allowed you to insert pictures. I know this may not help but I’ve gone a bit deeper into PollDaddy, they offer quizzes and the like as well. Was interesting.

umm… it uses the default SC textures…
1) Take the opportunity to paint the blocks within which the wires. 2) Add the game skeletons that they do not disappear and can be crafting itself.

The biggest problem that electronic machine inventors have is getting all the wires to not be connected.
One wire that is accidentally connected to another wire can cause the whole system to short-circuit.

If you knew that, the explosion doesn’t effect if you stack them upto any number, it’s a waste of time! You only put 1 on each box and it’s enough. Trust me I tried it and stacks, of any number has the same explosion size.

WHY????? Wires should be live, so if you touch bare, live wires, BZZZT! But then you would have to cover them with a resistor, such as stone, or silicon.
