I was playing with the new feature today with my son and daughter. I think I haven’t told you I have kids yet? They often help me test the game.
I think the new thing is BIG. We literally spent hours doing various things, basically exploring the possibilities it gives you. They seem endless. As I write it, my son is still making stuff with it. We had literally a dozen new ideas every minute, there’s not nearly enough time to try them all. That will be up to you.
I am a survival mode player at heart, but this thing almost made me into a creative mode guy :-)
I don’t want to spoil the big unveiling that will happen eventually, so no screenshots of this half-baked feature yet. Some bits still need polishing, that’s why we’re testing it so heavily now.
You will like it. Even if you are a survival guy like me.

But unfortunately with the competition it comes down to personal taist, and what Kaalus thinks will best represent his game in the image he has to promote his game. I know it’s like a punch in the guts when u feel your not getting recognition for you great work. But I’m questing a lot of people who didn’t have there work chosen feel the same way, me included!. Bug report just found it! Lava doesn’t destroy slabs when lava is placed inside the block…
Instead it flows to the top as if it was on water. :-D

Well, actually I’m not. I’m a programmer just as Kaalus is and spend a good portion of time programming. And from previous posts, which are as easy to access as scrolling down, you can clearly see it’s not minecarts. Thanks
Minecarts serve what purpose.
I would say it would be useful if they worked like chests but would roll on tracks, so you could haul rock and minerals out of caves, even though the player can hold plenty :P It would be cool though :D
I agree, but no minecarts with chests, like minecraft. :-) And no powered rails! But how about you could attach torches and signs on minecarts, like they were solid blocks….and they could store slightly more than a chest?
Well, all I really want them to be able to do is be pushed along tracks, allow ores, rock, or anything you want to be thrown into them like chests, and have it pushable up and down hills and through caves. I also wanna see a rail cart for transportation as well as having the rail cart push the mine carts.
And, of course, you could ride in them! :-) But yeah, I don’t like mining very much cause you mine so slow :-) But minecarts would really make it better….can’t store much in your small inventory space, PLUS I’d love to push animals into lava in them! :-)

Kaalus, can you up the flying speed and the block breaking speed for creative. It would make building things much easier.
100% agree, the flying speed and digging speed for creative mode is way too slow even with modified settings. Please increase these speeds Kaalus.
P.S. It would be cool to have a teleportation arrow just like in block story. You shoot the arrow in the direction you want to go and wherever the arrow lands is where you get teleported to.
This, as well as digging and building range must increase please.
You guys can easily use SurvivalCraft ToolBox to clear areas quickly. Just replace an area with air! Click my username to reach the blog.
You can speed up the creative mode digging speed in the settings from 200ms to 100ms. Beware that if you do change it, it’s easier to accidently break blocks you don’t want broken when moving around.
I still need a bit more speed, but more important is digging/building range.
As I said earlier, even with the modified settings it is still way too slow

Well yeah, otherwise why play? Theres no challenge in creative. Nothing to test your skills.
I like creative because you can use it to make huge projects that you can’t make in survival. Like pixel art, or cities, etc. I like survival just as much, but I’ve always seen survival and creative as different games altogether.

Is this game even that good? And I’m honestly asking. My physics teacher said to buy it for $10 on steam but i’m not much of a computer game guy and this game didn’t look too amazing.
It is an awesome game and it will keep you busy! Your choices change the outcome of the game. Kinda like telltale games, in a way. I highly reccomend that you play it!

Kaalus I know people bug you endlessly about multiplayer and this post is not to bug you again, but I was wondering about you and your children. I have two boys and I have to plead guilty that sometimes I play Explore (Android Minecraft PE clone or maybe demo) with them just to play multiplayer (local WiFi only) in survival mode with them. Do they bug you about this as well, as my boys often asks me when SC will get MP. I actually discourage them playing Explore, since I really hate games that are so unrealistic with all this fantasy rubbish.
Again I understand MP is a big thing and I’m not pushing you to do it, well not anymore at least. I really look forward to the new feature. It sounds incredible, a MC killer feature, at least MCPE.

The reason I asked, was because I do realise that MP is not that important to all and I was not bugging him about MP as such, but yes it would be great. If he focused on mp, maybe we would not get this new feature.

You are trying to upload a world that already has been uploaded.
Go to Dropbox and delete your world manually and then try again. That will solve your problem.
If this is a valuable world please email it to me and I’ll see what the problem is.

I think it has something to do with entity numbers. The world had lots of chests – more than 500. Maybe thats why…

One note: I noticed they called it a clone, which i guess it kind was back then, without all the different features, but now I think it’s much, much better than any form of Vanilla minecraft, and from what I can tell, funner to play than any mod! Terrifirmicraft is just too hard.

Dessert birds such as cassowarys and ostriches take insanely low fall damage…
It took a fall of at least 20 blocks to inflict enough pain to turn it red but no kill…..

The bird cannot fly so it cannot withstand such a fall….
Yeah, I think his logic was that they are birds, but it’s not realistic.
It is probably a behavior inherited by all birds in the game. Just like almost all animals have the stare behavior. and predators have a chase behavior

This is just a single feature included in the ToolBox.
The feature I’m most excited about coming in the next release is the Clusters. Clusters are my own version of MC’s Schematics. I even added the ability to convert schematics to Clusters. Clusters can be exported and shared with friends or the community. You can import pieces of other maps into any map. It’s gonna be great (well, it IS great, it’s already done, just gotta put it up)!

Hi, shouldn’t mooses be rideable by the way? During the middle ages mooses were ridden, because they are of the same size and strenght as horses. Currently it is forbidden to ride them

We now know a few things about the new feature.
You can build a seemingly endless amount of things
We know for certain that we can build a chair.
We know that these things can only be built in creative.
In the picture, the chair seems to be floating off the ground.
What we don’t know:
If we can build things, like chairs. What can we do with them afterward?
Can they be placed in the world?
In creative, do they go in the “user” inventory to be placed somewhere?
If I create a thing in creative and switch to survival, can I put the thing in my inventory to move it around?
Does the created thing even show up in survival?
Because there is no point in a fancy toy to build things if those things have no purpose in the world, whether survival or creative. If nothing else they should be decorative. Ideally they could be carried and placed and stacked on one another to make bigger, more amazing things.
We need 32 bit blocks for it.
Kaalus has wanted to add it for a while.
You can create a weird sand thing.
You can create a weird sticky thing.
It is BIG, possibly more so than electricity.

He didn’t say it was for only creative. He just said it was for creative players. I think he says that because survival players build a house and that’s it nothing more, so he thinks they won’t care

Bug report:
I have played a survival game on islands out at sea. In creative I’ve increased the islands’ size and enhanced it a bit. Then I realized something in Survival, these islands are sterile. Absolutely no animals spawn here and I’ve met only one shark and zero fish. Even when I spawn birds, they fly to the mainland. This was obviously intentional to keep animals from leaving the mainland, but it can be a bit frustrating. I did however find one bear in a cave.
I tried to live of pumpkins (which also do not spawn on islands away from the land as far as I could see), but finding saltpetre was almost impossible. I found two chunks on one island and 4 on another. Is there no chance of growing food without fertilizers?
Sharks are fish, which is strange considering dolphins and whales.
meant other fish. Sharks are quite different from other fish, even though you do get other strange fish. People might make a distinction between sea horses and fish, while it is just another fish. Maybe that helps.

I think i know what it is, is it voxels that are 1;16th the size of a block allowing you to create more detailed models and would make the chair and other object shown in the screenshot possible.
I thought about that while looking at screenshots from MagicaVoxel. Having a little voxel editor would be great.

After looking at some of the amazing things people build I’ve decided my buildings and towns are boring. I’d like to try my hand at making more appealing buildings and labyrinthine structures. Looking at the pictures helps but are there any websites where I can get some tips and tricks? I’m looking for general principles behind making good buildings.

I wanted to learn programming for games but I don’t know were to start.
A simple programming language is python, it is great for begginers, and people who already know how to program.
I agree. Python was very easy to pick up on.
Javascript is easy and you can build games without having to install anything for ios android and desktop.
Idk much, I’m a begginer too; but I know some c++, javascript, and python. C++ is harder to learn, but you can do more with it and it seems to give you more control. I’m also considering learning Ruby. A good site to learn a few languages is codecademy.

The new feature is the ability to model your own objects…right? Using clay or some molding substance, however, the chair you posted didn’t seem to be made of clay…so i now assume it is the ability to use craft new objects and models in game using any resource you want, though it’ll have to remain in the logical world. So for example, with this new feature, will i be able to make sand castles?
This is really just an assumption i put together with the two pictures you provided, it may or may not be true.

I have built more in this world already at 12.6 days and have a beautiful town Ironically called prosper town
I have put 2 real years into perfecting my farming!
My farms in survival mode are as big as buildings and can not only harvest on there own but also sort crops automatically into there own chests !
This is a massive step backwards in farm technology. :-)

ISSUE
My main CRUEL world is a whooping 23.4MB compressed and over 400MB uncompressed (approx 1500 days in the game). I upgraded my phone to a beautiful Microsoft Lumia 950XL and I cannot download it… The world file is not corrupt as I can download it onto other devices.

On my new phone then…
Download does not work, and the game freezes at the Downloading screen (with no download percentage shown) and must be forced to close, “Cancel” does not work.
I can download an older save of the same world which is 7.4MB (5 months previous in time and I have done a load of exploration and mining in that time, hence the big increase in world size).
Details of my Lumia 950XL…. Windows Phone 10, build 10.0.10586.29 with Survivalcraft 1.2.9.11.0
I have tried to download running on both battery and mains power, and ensuring that the screen des not go off (longest timeout is 5 minutes which based on the other 2 devices should be more than enough time to both download and import the file) – I have tried to download via both 4G and Wifi in case that would make a differrence.

Nope, I have the same problem too. Every time I try it crashes on my Ipad 2.
