1.29 Demo On Google Play

I have just published 1.29.1.0 demo to Google Play. It will take a few hours to become available everywhere.

Please download and test, even if you have the full version. I will publish the full version once all the bugs are ironed out.

Here’s the full changelist. Have a look through it, there’s probably some stuff I haven’t mentioned yet:

  • Dispenser not editable in Adventure
  • Projectiles damage does not bypass armor
  • Spawner eggs spawn 100% of the time in Adventure/Challenging, laid eggs only 20%
  • Conversion to 32bit blocks (more data per block)
  • Zip file decompression bug fixed
  • All stairs corners supported
  • Fixed stairs texture mapping to match other blocks irrespective of rotation
  • Projectile damage by large blocks reduced
  • Most electric devices can be mounted on the floor/ceiling (all gates, delay, SR Latch, Memory Bank, Truth Table, RT clock, Random Generator, DAC, ADC, Sound generator, Counter)
  • 8 colors of LEDs
  • 8 colors of 4-LEDs
  • 8 colors of 7-segment displays
  • Lightbulb has variable intensity depending on voltage (0.8-1.5V)
  • Added adjustable delay gate with user-configurable delay of 0.00 to 2.55 seconds
  • All stairs can be painted
  • All slabs can be painted
  • Separate categories for painted and dyed blocks to reduce clutter
  • Added stone stairs
  • Added stone slab
  • Made most solid construction blocks paintable (bricks, granite, cobblestone, planks, marble, stone bricks, sandstone, basalt)
  • Made all fences paintable
  • Made all fence gates paintable
  • Fixed texture orientation on all cube blocks to be consistent
  • Made all signs paintable
  • Added tall spruces
  • Made forests 20% denser
  • Added horizontal wood logs
  • Fallen wood logs generate deep forests
  • Added paint stripper bucket to remove paint from painted blocks
  • Placing slab on top of another creates full block
  • Stone fence model updated to look better
  • Added brick fence
  • Added basalt fence
  • Added copper armor (boots, leggings, chest plate, helmet)
  • Added copper tool (axe, pickaxe, shovel, rake)
  • Added copper weapons (machete, spear, arrows)
  • Displaying number of worlds on singleplayer screen

  • Switched copper/iron availability – copper appears in granite (shallow), iron in basalt (deep)
  • Optimized fluid geometry generation

  • Fire sound intensity depends on number of fires
  • Bigger, longer, more branching caves
  • Digging cracks visible underwater

  • Creatures on fire now extinguish themselves after a short time
  • Fixed fish attacking the rider of the boat instead of the boat

  • Added ability to disable survival mechanics in Adventure

  • Improved piano sound (instrument 7)

  • Added single buckshot ball recipe – but shooting single buckshot balls is weak and inaccurate
  • Added new iron ladder sounds
  • Disabled ladder climbing when flying
  • Fixed multiple instances of edit dialog when G is pressed many times on Windows 8.1/10
  • Fixed AI for running away to disregard dead attackers
  • Made boat stronger
  • Made glowpoints (eyes, leds, 7-segment displays etc.) look better
  • Added more treasure types to graves
  • Bigger pumpkin destruction particle system
  • Added screenshot size setting and fixed potential screenshot corruption on Windows Store

When I published 1.28 I wanted to add a big new feature to 1.29 that would make full use of the new 32 bit blocks. This is still definitely on but has been postponed to 1.30. Just look up to see how much stuff I had to do first :-)

    Can we please have more creative options and tools, for example, more customisable options when creating a world. Be able to create much larger islands and adjust sea level / average land level without only using stupid flat terrain option. And faster / better creative tool options for building ( plenty of ideas in forum ) saves me going on and on..

    After all creative mode players make a lot of worlds for survival players. So please help make our job easyer and make an update about this. So many players have quit great worlds because the work load becomes to boring and tedious. We need to speed up creative building to make it more enjoyable and keep the interest in a world a player is building alive.

    You know it makes sence Kaalus.

    BUG: I was digging around in basalt, only about 10 blocks above bedrock and I found malachite in the basalt. I has not dug in the area since 1.29 update. BTW I love the decreased burning time in creative.

    2 more things:
    ●The description for delay gate still includes ‘vertical surface’ instead of just ‘surface’ in recipedia.
    ●It would be very helpful if the 4-leds and 7-segment displays were coloured in the creative inventory to make it easier to find the right colour.

    My Gosh… Due to the Fire that Can Extinguish On Creatures, the Fire arrows are terribly Nerfed… :/

        … Yeah… I can Agree… But now are too weak in my opinion…
        Maybe should be increased the Damage of the Fire Arrow itself? (Like 6 Damage instead of 4?)

      I’m agree… With a delay of 0.01 Seconds, a Dispenser and some Bullets/Arrows/Bolts/Whateveryouwant you can create a deadly machine!

    Axes are incredibly weak weapons at the moment. By my calculations machetes are 2.88 times stronger. Maybe if you increase their hit ratio to 50% that would balance it out a bit more.

    I was thinking that if you Put a Dyed Cloth and a Paint Stripper Bucket in the Furnace you can remove the dye from the cloth, but you can’t…

      I am going to wait for the full verion of 1.29 and just a question who thinks that the secret item in 1.30 is multiplayer? I am wondering severely

        The secret item is NOT multiplayer. The secret item is something that would require 32bit blocks. If you have no clue what that means, just know it doesn’t mean multiplayer.

    Only 1 issue so far. In 2nd demo world one crash/game close using diamond pickaxe on big grave structure. Could not repro. Now on world 4 no probs. Lenovo IdeaTab S6000-F..

    What a great release! The tree mods have greatly refreshed & enhanced the experience, way beyond expectations.

    I LOVE THE EXPLODING PUMPKINS! Thank you Kaalus for adding that. You see, Kaalus does read these comments!

    The tall spruce height clearance varies nicely, and lets you plant them RIGHT NEXT to a 1 story cabin. there can be leaf blocks next to fallen trees, so theres the bushes someone asked about. Animals recover from fire as expected.

    The best organizational improvement is the separation of clothing into 2 tabs, Clothes and Dyed. All basic clothes,armor are now avail on one page.

    Painting is great with stone and iron fence construction.

    Kaalus said terrain generation may be impacted, but I like it so far. Got one that looked like an African savanna, didnt get overpopulated with trees and hills.

    still lots to test!

    Placing stairs is now very hard. Like, first make a 4×4 (edge only – leaving a 2×2 block space in the middle) square of stairs. That would make 8 regulars, and 4 outside corners. Now try to place inside corners in the middle. You can’t without it ruining the rest and it will ruin itself.

    Also, I can no longer use an empty bucket to pick up water in creative. This isn’t important but it is something noticeable. Still testing other stuff.

      reproduced. unwanted way the stairs work.
      create a new inner corner step out of 2 stairs.then go behind, and try to place a 3rd stair back-to-back with the full back of stair #2 (that forms the inner step with stair #1). you expect #3 to remain full width full height against the fullheight/width backsideof #2. but instead #3 changes to the outer corner stair with just 1 qtr in the top half.

        Yeah, I don’t think placing stairs should modify surrounding stairs. If you need to change a surrounding stair you should do it after you place the ones you need to remain. That would diminish some of this.

    Looks good. Unfortunately I get lag whenever I place something like torches and powder kegs which then proceeds to the game freezing for a few seconds on my Nexus 6P

      There are also random dirt patches where grass is supposed to be and lastly, i dont know if I was unlucky but I got no drops out of 9 gravestones being broken.

      Try reducing visibility range, 1.29 uses more memory and out of memory is an instant crash.

        Yes that’s it, the FPS was down to 7, CPU was hitting 99+%. Nifty little tool that viewer.

    Bug: If you combine 2 slabs different color slabs, it will become full block with color of last slab you put

      I do not think that is a bug. Kaalus has stated that if you put two slabs on top of each other it becomes one whole block just like in Minecraft

    Kaalus I want so badly to know what you think of all this art that I spent all week to make perfect just for you…. Please give me some signe of life…. Some kind of recognition…..       Thank you for the report, can you please tell me what were you doing when it crashed. What device do you have. Can you reproduce the crash. Is there anything in the log?

    Hey Kaalus, when will 1.29 be out on Amazon?
    Also, Amazon and Google are the only services that carry your demo. You should see about getting your demo into Windows and/or Apple.
    There are lots of people who get only demo versions, but on occasion they will buy the whole game if they think its worth it, and with your game they’ll have no choice ( -:

    Some years ago, my dad found your demo while looking at Minecraft.
    He gave it a wiz and within a day we owned the real deal.
    So I think you should send your demo to the other services.
    Also, it would give you a lot of more testers for bugs after a release.

    A couple times dragging planks block to user tray the icon got stuck on the left side icons. Putting the block in try then throwing it away resolved it.

    Kaalus I think there is a bug with render distance. If you go over 80 render it will say fast device and I have a textbook ares 8 from may 2015 and its fast.
    I do not know what’s wrong but if it is a bug please fix it. If it is not please explain why. I really need help with this!!

    I like the 1028 x1028 adoulkin texture1 setting but there are a lot of glitches in 1.27 and 1.28. Please help, I have an iPad mini.

    kaalus why does an electrical signal get reduced to 8 when it passed through certain gates twice, took me about 3 hours to re-wire half my house so that all the lights are at a correct brightness, and yes it took me 3 hours, i made a very big house with lots of cool features that requires enormous amount of wires,gates, circuits, etc.

      Use a wicher-lamp roof. Will look like a planks roof and if you cover it at top the players will not guess your secret.
