Disable survival mechanics in Adventure

In 1.29 you will be able to disable survival mechanics in adventure maps. This means no hunger, stamina (panting), temperature and sleep deprivation.

It has been long requested, especially hunger and temperature are annoying and unnecessary on some maps.

I found a bug i think, if i spam tap a snow block on top of a cactus it will place snow on there. Usually it just turns into the snow breaking particles, but every so often it will actually place it.

    Hi Kaalus,
Firstly I wanna congratulate you by the game that’s awesome, I play since the 1.20.
And I know that you do a hard work for the game, and you have to handle some boring players like me giving you suggestions, but I think the game needs a “goal” to reach, for example Minecraft: for you go to the end, you need find lava, need a bucket, make a portal to nether, kill some blazes, kill some endermans, and so it goes. Well, in short, I think that could have more challenge in challenging mode.
    Thank you by the game.

So do you think that goal is in there, and just no-one’s ever found it?

        • Posted January 4, 2016 at 22:28 | Permalink

          No, not yet.

        • Posted January 5, 2016 at 17:59 | Permalink

In Survivalcraft (or however I rename it – I have a few ideas; feel free to suggest your own), you will be a castaway dumped on an uninhabited shore. I actually plan to model a blocky 3D ship model that will be used in the intro. Not sure yet whether it will sink or just sail away.

Your goal will be to return to civilization. There will be ocean on one side and random landscape on the other. This should be quite interesting and different from Minecraft. Basically, the world will still be infinite, but only to one side. I plan to change terrain generation code to produce more and more challenging terrain as you move further inland.

That’s very interesting….now I’m inspired to explore…could that be the mystery feature for this update which everyone has forgotten about?

Hi guys, and Kaalus I hope you read this…

….So what does SC feature?…What makes it different from most if not all other blocky games? I believe the distinct feature is in the “mobs”.

Yes SC has a plethora of wildlife, common and exotic, near and from afar. Now with the introduction of a gun, or in other words a hunting rifle, it seems to me that playing in challenging or “survival” mode and obtaining a gun is a top priority now for fun and kick ass survival.

So what a better way to show off your “accomplishments” then to have a head mount of the wild life that you had to defend off or hunt.

This is how it could be created in the crafting table layout.

      1=plank
      2=dead animal

      1 1 1
      1 2 1
      1 1 1

Not all animals have a “value” let’s say, therefore I believe this would be a great way to give every animal value. A wolf for example, on paper, would be considered a “common” then a tiger or lion, bear, the fierce ones or the hard to kill ones would be considered “rare” ones. The white bull would be considered like a “ultra rare” This would be a great way to show off your own personal accomplishments and give players a little more drive to explore the world, seek out materials to accomplish this goal I.e. Gun and weapons and give the community the pride to boast their hunting “titles”

      • Posted January 5, 2016 at 22:33 | Permalink | Reply

So sorry to burst your bubble but animals are not items and they do not lay spawner eggs like ducks so what you are asking for is not possible you cannot lay a white bull on a crafting table….. Not only that but the idea of bragging about it on the community is pointless…. There are no variations between one wolf to another and that goes for every other animal so there is no satisfaction when you mount an animal on a wall or Bragg about killing one…. Not only that but the animals like bears are not rare at the least I always have my home overpowered by bears and the same goes for all other animals…… I have killed every single animal more than once including orca baluga white bull and white tiger ……. Still no pride in killing one of these animals…… If anything these animals are spawned way to much and are very annoying

A happy new year to Kaalus and all Survivalcraft supporters! (A tad bit late, I was pre-occupied during new year.)
About the new option: It is nice indeed to be able to turn the option off if things get too much to keep up with.
And I also like the fact you can turn it on again for a decent challenge. (-: (It is a great feature, but now it is less forced.)
It makes SC a little more perfect! (I like games that have lots of options, and no, I do not consider it cheating, we all know how fun it can be to “exploit” your way through Skyrim and Oblivion!)
And blockgames are all about personalisation, creating and freedom of settings and options.

Btw is it a bug that I set a dispenser in shoot mode accidentally, and pumpkin thrown by it ricochetted from wall and killed me (even when I had full health) from a good distance?

    • Posted January 6, 2016 at 23:26 | Permalink | Reply

In real life, if you had a giant pumpkin shot at you at the speed of a bullet, would you not at the very least be injured? Have you not heard of potato guns, whose projectiles are much bigger than bullets and much more dangerous? If a potato gun is fatal, what makes you think that a pumpkin isn’t?

Yeah, but what will happen to ricochetted pumpkin? It’ll smash against wall. A pumpkin shot straight is lethal, yes, but it can’t bounce off a solid wall.

Why is iron in basalt now…..? This is …. Is ….. Not right…….. Not logical…… Not humane …… I have to dig deeper…. Has the world gon mad or are you getting to tired to think!!!!! This is going to nead some major explaining on your part kaalus……… :-P :-) :-(

Wo wo wo wait a minute……………. Now deserts are a tax more realistic with iron in there basalt rather than coper……. But I nead more ….. More ……… Of a reason for such unspeakable actions against everything that is logical!……the only thing I can think of to make this more reasonable is making iron and copper coexist in the basalt level…… My reason for this is that iron is just about everywhere in our crust……..

Several different colors of paint, wounds, bleeding out, electromagnets. These are good additions, but what would be amazing is as follows. If you touch a regular copper wire that is connected to a working circuit, you get electrocuted. That way, you could have every circuit fully electrified and “zappy zappy”. If you want a safe circuit, you would have to cover the wire in a material resistant to electricity. Attaching live wires to iron gates/fences could make: electrified fences! A deadly security system.

Yes! And when he adds silver wires, those will be real bad. (Bd grammar intended)

Hello. We need a block whose sides can be painted in different colors. For example, on the one hand, this block has the form of stone, on the other hand has the form boards, and thus can be painted with different colors.

    • MTB adventures/RCs to the limit
      Posted January 5, 2016 at 11:22 | Permalink | Reply

That would require 64bit blocks right?

    • Posted January 5, 2016 at 16:27 | Permalink | Reply

At the moment 4 bits are used for colours. If the colours are not increased, we’ll need 6×4 bit for the colours, that is 24 bits just for colours (6 for the 6 sides of a cube). There was an increase of only 16 bits. Unfortunately this will not happen until we have 64 bits. Personaly I think it will be better spent on more colours and extra features like sloped blocks etc. Maybe things like carpets can be used on the sides of walls to decorate in different colours.

I suppose Kaalus can give us more insight on this.

Kaalus you could also fix wettness mechanism. In 1.28 wetness is related to body so when you change to dry clotes you’re still wet

    • Posted January 5, 2016 at 16:13 | Permalink | Reply

Maybe to a lesser extent, you can’t get dry in real lifejust by changing clothes. Maybe add a towel.

      • Posted January 5, 2016 at 16:30 | Permalink | Reply

Unless the guy is extremely hairy(he isn’t, unusual for a white man of the era) there is nothing to really keep the water in, and the water on your skin isn’t going to be alot, so changing into dry clothes will actually help, because the clothes will actually take the water away from your body

        • Posted January 5, 2016 at 16:32 | Permalink

Changing to dry clothes irl helps alot actually
