Yes it is fireworks!

Massive kudos to viniciuspac, the first to guess it is fireworks.  I don’t know how he (or she) did it, but there you go. Congratulations!

Here’s a video for you showing some fireworks in action:

There are 256 variants of fireworks.

8 different burst shapes:

  1. Small burst
  2. Large burst
  3. Circle
  4. Disc
  5. Ball
  6. Short trails
  7. Long trails
  8. Flat trails

8 colors:

  1. White
  2. Cyan
  3. Red
  4. Blue
  5. Yellow
  6. Green
  7. Orange
  8. Dark

Plus 2 altitude variants (low and high) and additionally any firework can be made flickering.

As usual, I am going to publish 1.28 for testing on Google Play first. This time I will only publish DEMO version. The full version will stay at 1.27 until bugs are ironed out.

    I don’t get how it’s fireworks since they aren’t in the game and you mentioned it was something already in the game.

      I think he means that he already finished programming it, he already added it in his demo, it’s no longer an idea or project.

      That was my though as well. There were no fireworks already in the game. Well then I suppose this is how misunderstandings happen. This was then just a lucky guess.

        You’re right. I’m sort I might have misunderstood the statement, English is not my first language. I’m French Canadian (Québécois). Just so you know you have a few fans in this little place too, Kaalus!

        But at least I hope it’ll all be in the great survivalcraft!

          I agree. These are really cool, but without multiplayer, even with just local wifi, SC might die. Just think on creative maps people can build together. They can produce awesome creations. Well so much for that. I’ll probably play this for a while to see the fireworks and then so playing again till the next update. Sorry for sounding a bit negative.

      Google Play will get it first as usual. Then Windows probably. Apple will probably get the update last. I mean it took Apple forever just to get the game on their store. As for bugs maybe a few days to a week. It really depends.

    What? Only demo? Why why why? Noooooo! Please have mercy! Update full version first so us who have actually payed for the right to play the game and have the time to test bugs can get the chance to get it first please ….. :-) I hope you realize that I am still happy with your decision

        O one more thing there is a bug with armor all progectiles do full damage to your person when wering armor you forgot to program the progectiles damage into armor protection

        A player could see another’s fireworks. It would work as a distress signal. Great use if you ask me.

          Let me rephrase that. We know it’s not strictly for signaling in multiplayer; we just agree that it could be a good use for it. Kind of like when people, including me, said dispensers would be great for transporting. It’s not it’s initial use, but it is a possible use.

          It is a good idea for if multiplayer will ever exist in survivalcraft. tbh, I think multiplayer will be added because at the menu screen, there is a button that says “singleplayer”, as if there is supposed to be another button that says “multiplayer”. Technically people can download worlds from community content made by others, but you still have to press the “singleplayer” button to access them. I don’t think that Kaalus will actually add multiplayer for a very long time, though.

    This maybe a good time to revise the demo version and increase the time limit. At this stage the demo is rather useless and only frustrates new potential users. Even if you made it heavy add based, it would be better. I’ve read some of the reviews of SC Demo and this is the main complaint. Maybe you can lock out survival mode as an upgrade option or something like that, or just some of the items. Just a thought.

    Thank you kaalus! I wanted either dispensers or block locomotion and you added dispensers. One can make cool maps, item sorters (sorting limited to weight and bouyancy), and more diabloical devices! >:} Speaking of which, I am almost done making an advanced, analog, 8 memory bank music machine. Tell me if you want me to post it here. Thank you for all your hard work and determination!

    Btw: You should make throwing fireworks have a 50% chance to catch you on fire. It would be very amusing.

    Trying the Demo of 1.28… I haven’t found Bugs Yet… However I think that Would be better if the Crossair when you Aim with Weapons/Throwable items will return the One Before 1.27.15…

    Nice. If we trigger them at a low enough altitude perhaps they’ll scare off predators. Going to try setting dispenser down a hole to reduce altitude.

    So, kaalus didnt say he was adding the dispenser because of something ingame already, he said that the dispenser was finished and implemented in his test version.

    So I was testing on the demo and the muskets and fireworks are really cool and nicely done. Only thing that should be changed is the muskets have no durability and there is a little too much smoke when one is fired. Another great update! Keep up the good work Kaalus! Never give up!

    Not sure if this is a bug, but if i shoot a musket ball out of a dispenser it kills most animals in one hit. It is just as powerful as the gun itself. Also when animals die, they produce the smoke as if you shot them, even though i never shot them. They just fall off a cliff, die, and smoke appears on their body….

    Love it ….. So easy to Mass produce fire works best of all you get your bucket back! No bugs…. Fireworks do minimal damage to animals but scare them away good for survival mode and warding off prediters you can fire blanks with muskets….. Very cool. The signs and laders work grate…… New death animations look great work grate and are really nice :-) so kaalus…… I think…….. With the “low hanging fruit” out of the way…….. (I hope you see were I’m going with this) :-)

      The demo is still incredibly short, therefore useless. Maybe it will improve. Hope so. Just tested a few fireworks before it stopped me. Very frustrating.

        I agree with you, I personally don’t know why kaalus have only released 1.28 to the demo version. If his intention was to see if there were bugs, wouldn’t it be more effective to release to the full version so we can test everything calmily instead of forcing us to test everything in a hurry before the demo expired? If he was afraid about a bug that breaks worlds or something he could simply recommend us to export our important worlds to dropbox, so we could at least save them. That’s my opinion, what do you think?

      In 1.27 When you throw a Spawner Egg, it generates some white particles… And looking better at the particles they actually use the Snowball Texture…
      In 1.28, due to the Absence of Snowball Texture, it generates a Broken Texture, wich appears as a Green Grid Square, the Same that appears in unused areas of the Block Textures…

        Well, I can speak for sure that it is a bug. There must be something wrong with texture coordinates or the texture itself. These green small pieces are empty texture slots which are mapped by mistake. If you’ve made a block texture for SurvivalCraft, you are supposed to know that.

    Got the demo and its pretty good. In 1.29 can you add like a house generated structure? Like those tiny box houses in mcpes villages. Make 1 just spawn in the middle of nowhere

    Ok, I’ve discovered some bugs:
    – Spawner eggs sometimes wont spawn animals.
    – After shooting with musket, the controls may freeze (rare)
    – Horses no longer take damage while mounted, the damage is redirected to you instead (don’t know if it is intended).
    – Projectiles ignore armor protection.

    Just this bugs for now, I’ll keep testing to see if there is something more.

    Hi guys, a few questions..
    Will fireworks cause collateral fire or explosive damage, scare off animals etc?
    Will fireworks in the future spell out letters numbers etc?
    Will dispensers be able to dispense into other dispensers? (To change trajectory )

      1) Fireworks cannot Detonate Explosives and cannot burn anything… But they Scare Animals, yeah
      2) I dunno

    Well my kindle’s battery died and my computer will not update to window 8 to get survival craft. So, with survival craft payed for, I’ve lost it for ever. Oh well. I’d gladly pay for it again! Just need a device that’ll actually run it.

    Kindle’s battery died meaning it can no longer hold charge and my parents don’t consider it worth it to buy a $60 battery replacement.

    PLEASE make it possible to add things inside a dispenser just like in a normal chest by throwing it in or make that stuff can be transferred from a chest to a dispenser. It would be amazing and would allow some cool automated stuff

    ISSUE: Although you need to sneak to aim the musket, this is awkward because there is no sneak button when holding a musket; there is just an edit button.

      Yes it is odd you have to “set down” the musket for Sneak button to replace the Edit button. Shouldn’t it just appear below it? Perhaps Kaalus is saving vertical real estate.

    I have a huge problem!
    Every time i do a large explosion or a lot of fireworks. The game messes up and starts this loud distorted sound till i restart the game. Pleeaase help.

    Is the “E” in the gun icon supposed to indicate EMPTY? If so shouldn’t it go away when I’ve loaded the musket? It is not – Lenovo IdeaTab S6000-F Android 4.2.2.

      Duh, E for edit. However the edit icon is not an E, it’s a pencil. But you can also load from the tray just like bows.

    OK big guy! 2 real bugs to report! Pathfinding is a bit weird not as good as on full version and dispensers set on dispense that are blocked shoot to the side including chests blocking the dispenser. Then when set to shoot and blocked all items are lost as there fired out of it … One suggestion for dispensers…. Please add a way to transport item’s from one dispenser to another example pipes or ducts so I can make a block transportation out of my mines and into factorys…… And make it impossible to access the dispenser from the front in adventure mode because one could easily disarm a trap in adventure thanks!! :-)

    Kaalus I think I found a bug. When I was playing demo 1.28, if you carry the gun while running and go to 3rd person, the arms will go back and fourth, I want to say that it’s a good update I also realized when you hurt your horse while riding on it, it will not run away. Well that happened to me. I’m not sure if I stopped it from running but I think you stopped the horse from running away when you lose fall damage, run into cacti, and getting attacked while riding on it I like how it did not run away. GREAT update.
