Apple have rejected the iOS build of 1.27.
This time it’s not a technical reason. It’s a bit of your fault actually!
Apple have taken their time, more than usual, and trawled through the community content. And they found the nasty worlds you submitted.
I don’t blame them, some stuff in there is quite upsetting. I can’t possibly moderate it all. Anyway, they want me to remove all the questionable content before I can resubmit.
I don’t think it’s possible for me to do it, there is just too much junk in there.
Therefore I will have to come up with another idea. The most radical one is to completely remove community content from iOS version of the game. I hope I will not have to do it.
Please stop posting rubbish and nasty stuff to community content, there are little kids playing this game.
In the meantime I have been working on Windows Phone and Windows Store versions of the game. I fixed the low memory issue, but the occasional freezing remains. It’s not a problem with Survivalcraft, but with Windows Phone. If I could only concentrate on gameplay and adding features, but 75% of my time is taken by silly bugs on various platforms.

Here’s how you can bring back cc
So there’s a button in the corner that replaces the block textures, etc and it’s a category button.
When the users click on it, it will show the following-maybe
1. Block textures
2. Worlds with castles/towns/mansions
3. RPG worlds (only appropriate)
4. Characters skin
Ok, so how we’re gonna know if there appropriate is the only people on word press that are trust worthy, they will be given a way to sign into a checking system of some sort and if it’s inappropriate they can delete it instantly. So before the worlds are on the cc, they will be sent to the people who review them.
So I basically took a lot of ideas and sorta of made one! So if you like that idea, even though it will take a while to work, maybe next update you can do this.

Well you can say that about any mobile device including Android and Lollipop. I have the Nexus 5 and until Lollipop 5.1, Lollipop was a mess with crashes and the horrible memory leak. You can say the same for iOS 8.1. All oses aren’t perfect and they come with their own bug’s. That’s the sad reality. And regarding memory space, I understand, especially with iOS 8, but of course it depends on the storage. 8 gigabytes and 16 is definitely lacking. Especially with it being mandatory to have well over 4-6 gigabytes free originally for iOS 8.

personally i have only put 3 world on community content a while ago. Lake country, Fairview, and Extreme fall. then was when Kaalus refreshed it.

Once you see some of the horrors on community content, you are scarred for life. Getting the content in game is convenient, but I really believe the feature should be removed. Just put up all the content on 1 website, maybe provide a link to it in game? That solves a lot of the problem, as those who post the questionable content usually don’t care to go to any websites outside the game. This could also make finding content easier, as things can be grouped in many categories and of course search bars. People who post the inappropriate content could be banned from the website, which of course mean they can no longer upload anything like that for others to see. It would get rid of all those clan worlds that seem to consume community content. If people wanted to make a clan world that bad they could just create their own little thread on the website and not waste anybody else’s time. How about that? Any of you survivalcrafters object to this? I’d love to hear other opinions.

I think that we as fans could get a site up and running. Just like there are moderators in the forums, we could do our part to help out. Perhaps the content site could be integrated with the forum itself. Though I’m not fond of the forum to be honest…perhaps we could pitch in and donate some money so that the forum is more functional and appealing.

If you really want the clan world atmosphere, try getting some people to start a thread on the forum (either on the current one or the site I just made). As long as it’s appropriate. If clan worlds are what you like, you shouldn’t be denied the ability to play them, as long as it causes no problem for others.

For awhile, people have been making messages and groups to stop those nasty things. Bad People thought, “Well, their not gonna hurt us. Let’s keep doing what we’re doing… MORE WORLDS NOW!!” But, I bet, hearing from Kaalus, their gonna be, “Sorry, Kaalus! We won’t do it again! Please don’t take away our good worlds!” I hope those people get what they deserve. I’m an android user, but, I think those bad people need to be taught a lesson for hurting your feelings and your game like that. I’m really sorry to hear about that, Kaalus and I hope it will get better.
I feel the same way. I like creation worlds like the Titanic world. But their so hard to find in the current content. Maybe this obstacle can serve in our favor.
Titanic was good! And all sorts of the good ones! Like Ford Race Car, Parkours, and all those nice adventures and goodies! I was just thinking yesterday about these worlds and I thought about that there should be a censor to make those worlds 18+. Like, before you publish a world you press a button so it’s only for mature players. But, it’s not gonna happen and those worlds shouldn’t exist. If only there was some ways the IOS users can keep those goodies and avoid the badies. But, It’s hard to think of ideas. I hope it gets better and the world’s can get out of the Community Content.

Hi kaalus, is it possible for all community content to be uploaded/redirected/submitted to the survival craft website/forums… That way the moderators there can filter it through there. Then players can get CC from there.
….or develope a CC flagging program I.e. YouTube.
When players find CC that is inappropriate, give them the option to flag it.
Enough flags will justify removing said CC.
… It will be much extra work and time.. But it’s something that must be done in the long run.
80% of survivalcraft players seem to be apple users, though, just make a separate indepe.dent community content for apple users and introduct a new report feature, once the world report is clicked a bird eye view screenshot of the world is taken, it would be relatively fast to view the screenshot and decide if the content is bad, also you could make the reported content reviewable by adult community members, who will decide whether the content is bad or not, this way you wont have to do that manually, the community members will take care of the dirt. (sorry for my bad english I typed very fast) sorry for gibberish comment I just wrote what I thought, im sure you will contruct this thought into a better idea and implement it. Btw pls release pc version of survivalcraft, I want to try it on a powerful platform :D

I think kaalus should add filters e.g. Search bar, limit of number of signs(this will also stop clan worlds), online moderators etc. I dont think a single filter make much difference.
This will take a lot of time of course. But community content is one of the things that sc is better than mc. We cant just abandon it.

Surprisingly I found more profane worlds on my android device than my iOS device. I also find that my iOS device functions 100 times better than any android device I had owned in the past so therefor I have come to a conclusion that android is the clear inferior device. iOS may have its problems, but android seems to have more. To be fair the worlds interlock with each other. Android worlds can be found on IOS devices, at least I think because there are a lot of 1.27 texture packs on my IPad.

Maybe he could just purge everything in community content, lock it and re-submit the update so that it can pass, then once the update released he could unlock community content. Kaalus could also make it so that in order for a persons world to be uploaded 100% to community content, the world would have to be reviewed first, if he wanted to he could hire a team ordered to specifically review these worlds and moderate for him from then on eliminating all “Garbage” worlds that are found containing profane content.
Wouldn’t “locking” and then “unlocking” be illegal. Kaalus needs to keep his “developer licence” you know. Either way, it will still be in the code.

I am actually glad that apple is doing this. I don’t have IOS but the whole community is filled with disgusting and disturbing stuff. There is a skin that many people use that should be deleted. (You don’t want to see it or know what it is). It is impossible to find amazing cities , builds or adventure maps because the whole community is filled with $3X , drugs, and those rp or clan worlds. So annoying!!!

4. Safety Mode (Bad community will be hidden [If world has been reported]
Kaalus, please just get rid of it for IOS users… I’m a IOS user as of now too, but I started this game when it came out for android. We never had nasty world problems until it was released for IOS. Please, just get rid of uploading worlds at community content for IOS, but at least let us have skins and texture packs still. I think this is the best temporary solution.

I know this is really un-nessary, but, I’ve noticed that this post hasn’t had any First, Second, Third thingwees. I just noticed that merely minutes ago.
I never even check community content anymore. almost all it is is a place where things that should not happen, happen. I remember when people used to upload cool things like cities or airports or whatever their imagination lead them to make. Now, thanks to those of us who clearly can’t handle a device at all, the game was rejected. I am fortunate to have a kindle, not an IOS device, so I have the update. Very sad, wish there was a way to filter the content without getting rid of community content. If you read this Kaalus, and you might not like the idea, but have you ever considered hiring a few people to help you with things like this? Just a thought.
Ikr! I first got survival craft around 1.19 and that was a time when people had creativity and some common sense and decency to post appropriate content. It is extremely unfortunate that people have nothing better to do than ruin other peoples experiences.

What happens when you report a world?
Maybe make a voting system for whether a world would be removed, like if someone wants a world removed they select an option, and then a notification next to that world says that a vote against the world has been made. People can then vote on whether they want to keep that world or not. A certain amount of days later, the votes are counted. There is a cooldown before you can start a voting for the same world.
Might not be a good idea though considering the memory that would take up and also considering the power people can have.

There could be a “purge” where the most popular worlds are deleted in a certain amount of time (if it is a good world, just download it and keep it before it is deleted) to make way for the less popular, less nasty worlds.

It appears that some of the worst worlds are made by someone named Skye, they have very graphic situations, that are very inappropriate. Their usually named message to or from Skye. I am going through these and reporting them as I go, anyone understand the age of 18 stay off these worlds, and anyone that downloads them, and doesn’t report these vile worlds are just as guilty as the ones who makes them.

Just get rid of signs all together for community content until you find a permanent solution…I’d be willing to sacrifice that for the ability to get the iOS update!
…and yes, I agree these are mostly kids posting this stuff. I’ve downloaded a few worlds out of curiosity and, sorry to say, I find them more hilarious than offensive…a mating room…seriously? Regardless of my personal reaction, though, they are inappropriate and while I am glad they will finally be dealt with, am sorry it has come at the expense of Kaalus’ reputation, livelihood and efforts.
The most popular worlds could be “purged”, deleted after a certain amount of time to make way for the other, less nasty worlds. If there was a good world that was published, anyone who wanted it could just get it before it is deleted and they would have the world. To prevent re-uploading, once someone uploads a world, it is no longer uploadable. Kaalus, I also recommend the ability to transfer worlds to other devices so that if someone has a good world and wants to share it (though being unable to post it on the community content), they can transfer the world to another device. Obviously the creator of the world can do this too, but sharing is very limited due to the world no longer being on the community content. This way, the community content is refreshed with new worlds at the top.

Kaalus. Maybe you could add an emergency report button that’s easy to access? So we as the players could report any bad worlds and they go strait to you so that way you could remove them!
Yeah… I gave up on communtity content throughout the app, with the exception of some texturepacks… Most of it I download from the forum… But perhaps Kaalus or a forum administrator can select a group of people that submitted their work on the forum for serious intent in the game?? So you can put only worlds in the game which are suitable, beautiful and big or special! But only with a selction, not thousands, biut like say, 20 worlds or so per month? (The rest we can fetch from the forum and put in the game through the private function?)
So at least that is under control for the time’s being? (-:

Why not let the community of players moderate the contents, like a sort of censorship committee ? Unfortunately I don’t have any IT skills to offer but I do have free time that I’m willing to dedicate to such a task, should you find this a valid suggestion.

Unfortunately the truth of it is that these ‘people’ probably don’t even know these forums/blog exist.
Kaalus, maybe you need to make moderators. Just take the active forum staff and give them passwords and a free cookie, they’ll take the issue straight off your hands.
Before you do that, you should delete all worlds off Cc – a fresh start. Also a new page should be added: When you enter the Cc, a set of rules will appear.
This will eliminate the *ahem* more… Exotic worlds. Like the wolf mating (seriously? LOL). I think all worlds should get a review process, just like apps! And if all those mods are willing, then you can just sit and code :)

Kaalus, I have made a world telling the *cough* exotic *cough* worlds’ players to stop making those *cough* exotic *cough* worlds and joining them.

Once again this is a sad but perfect example of how a few people that do questionable methods ruin in for the rest of us. But it’s also a good thing because it’s finally a wake up call to the disgusting habits and uploads that are occurring in the community center. If you see reviews of the game as well in the Play Store or in the iOS App store and i guarantee in the Amazon and Windows Phone App Store, you’ll see reports and 1 stars talking about the inappropriate worlds in the community center. I for one am in to do moderating, especially users and people in the Forum who definitely help with this. IMO, only registered users in the official SC Forum could upload worlds and texture packs and all that goodies, disallowing anonymous users to post their sick worlds. A log in in the game to upload worlds with their Forum credentials would also be a good idea, especially with moderators with the workings of a search bar as well as different genre’s/categories of worlds to top it off to be more specific in a world you are trying to find or categorizing your publish build. My 2 cents which sound good to me.

Knowing that you have better things to do other than reading long emails, I tried to be as synthetic as possible in my previous message. I realize now that I may have exaggerated. Here’s my suggestion:
1. Start from scratch by deleting all previously submitted contents; 2. Create a queuing system for users to submit their contents for approval; 3. Empower a group of volunteer users (moderators/censors) to review and approve the submitted contents (eventually requiring two or more approvals before publishing).
It’s really not an original idea, just a replication of Apple’s own approval system, assuming that you’d find a way of implementing it from the technical point of view.

There are other choices whether or not he chooses to implement them is a different story. He could delete all worlds off of community content and then hire a team of moderators to review worlds for him.

Every update you should delete all community content maps/worlds that aren’t in the most popular list. Then you only have to moderate most popular list which wouldn’t have bad things anyway.

I think that community content database should soemehow share forum data.
So when someone want to post something in community content, he need to post this at forum first, then he gets a “special link” or soemthing…

PRO: content is clean or it is deleted – worlds, conversations, etc
CON: Lefora’s ad popups greatly harm the user experience especially on mobile devices, interfering with posting. Traffic is way down I believe due to this.
Perhaps kill 2 birds with one stone (in real world not SC 😉) and find new solution for both forum and CC?
1 more observation as a forum staffer. The forum for all its faults is free of this behavior because it has a barrier to entry. Takes effort to join. Not much, but enough to keep out these opportunist drive-by types. CC needs better barrier to entry.
Just move the forum to somewhere that lets you post images from a mobile easily
Aesopredux, I’ve been looking into purchasing reliable domain and hosting for a brand new site and using wordpress.org. This would allow for blog, forum, and wiki to all be on the same site which is very convenient. I’ve also been looking at some of the wordpress plugins which are very helpful. With them, we can achieve a social media like thing. It also allows for ecommerce, so if Kaalus were to ever sell Survivalcraft merchandise, a shop would be incredibly easy to set up and use. It sounds like a great plan and I love designing websites, and have enough money to spare for something like this. But this is not my decision ultimately. I will most likely purchase the site anyways (so that nobody steals the awesome domain name I picked out lol) and whether or not Kaalus or the forum staff decide to endorse it is beyond my control. I haven’t explored the capabilities of the forum plugin but I’m sure it can handle all of it.
Let me know if you are in support of this or not. I haven’t heard from Kaalus so chances are he’s still trying to make a decision. Making the Survivalcraft experience much better is the least I could do. Have a nice day :-D

How about everybody on here go to the CC and download all the worlds, then report them. Kaalus said he had a machine or something that deleted a world when it got enough reports. Or we can just get rid of the world option for IOS users as I stated before.
Kaalus should make it so if you report a world for a bad reason like drug use or harassment it should be removed from the community content list. Also, the person who posted the world should be banned from survivalcraft time depending on the world they posted or thing they did.
Or people could just stop posting chat and drug worlds.

Wow. I scrolled through cc and i dont know whether its kaalus or the users(probably both) but theres hardly any sxx world left now. I pressed “more items” about 30 or 40 times and i only found two! (i reported it of course)
Maybe there is still hope for ios users….
And i think you can report clan worlds. There is “other” option when reporting. We can use that for a reason. The exact reason can be “spamming”. ;)
But right now, sxx worlds are the priority.
Hey Kaalus, im sorry ur hard work and effort was thrown away because of ppl that disrespect you, but ive got an idea. What if u add a new rating button or chek box that when it is pressed it will give the world a 1 star and 1 point towards being removed? If maybe 10% of ppl that vote in all or 100 ppl or so tap the checkbox, the world is then deleted.
So tap the box, lets say it was already pressed 99 times and u were the hundreth, now the world is no longer available for download.
And the checkbox could say:
“Is this world Inapropriate or contain harmful content?” and then u check off yes or no.

Well, the best thing you could do is delete it all. It may be sad for those who worked hard on their worlds but life is unfair I guess.
When you press cc, you could get a message that says:
Thanks to your colourful imagination, I have removed the community content :)
Instead you will have to use the forums. Good day.
Simple – Remove everything except the most popular content.
From there, use the forums as a vetting place, to vote on content which is to be submitted.
To help out, the developer will have to post a youtube video with screenshots showing its a legit effort being made.
Some of the POPULAR stuff is popular because it is junk!

I’m not entirely familiar with Apple’s rules and guidelines, but a possible solution would be for iOS users to only be able to input a URL that leads to a zip file to a custom world (which ideally you could expose to the end-user via iTunes’ file transfers). In this way, they would not be able to browse through and chance upon inappropriate worlds, but they could still share worlds with each other.
Give me your thoughts, but I was thinking of creating a world called “s_x to all” or something like that. when the people see the world and download it, there will be flashing lights and a bunch of signs explaining what is going on, a link to this page, and that they need to stop. It probably won’t work, but it might get it into some people’s heads. Tell me what you think. I have already made it, so I don’t know if I should post it or not.
You should filter your server or whatever you use to have the worlds and all that stored, anything wrong gets filtered out

Another idea, instead of getting rid of community content all together, just get rid of world sharing. That still sucks, but then we’d still be able to share textures and skins. Better than nothing. Also, are there no survivalcrafters out there willing to moderate content for you? What about a mod community? New to SC, so sorry if this has been discussed already.
What about you review worlds that seme “suspiscious” and if they are gross just dont allow it get 10 or 20 people to help you!
I have an idea, remove ALL current community content and then let the community rebuild itself. You should also have penalties like not being able to publish to those that post vile content. I’m a user of iOS and I REALLY want the update!

If you head over to the forum you can learn about dropbox links, create your own topic page in the Worlds showcase. There you can put link to your world, pics (or links to pics on dropbox) , and get comments on tour work. :)
Hi, I am one of the people on sc who would download those nasty worlds & blow em’ up, tell them to stop it! And bug them all the time!!! And I just got the update last night & im so depressed! Ok, every one how ’bout we all vote on which we think is the best way to get cc back in the next update (1.28 maybe)
So I will have numbers with ideas and then you can reply and put the number of the idea you like. ( using other’s ideas)
1: trustworthy people on here have a way to decide if the worlds should be deleted or, can pass. The moderators will have passwords
2: We have a VERY SERIOUS report button and then when it is sent (the report) it will be deleted/reviewed.
3: There is a genre button, the following that can be put on here are:
APPROPRIATE RP/CLAN WORLDS,Cities/towns, And castles/houses/mansions.
Now, the worlds that will be uploaded are checked, deleted or approved, and then if approved BY MODERATORS when people click on one of the genre buttons, those worlds will show up.

When I try and upload a world a screen pops up saying “Error. Bad request (400)” How can I upload my world without this happening?
This happened to me after I tried uploading severely inappropriate content. It probably means you tried to do the same and got b&.
