FPS meter

It was relegated to the back of the queue for a long time, but it will finally arrive in 1.26. Meet the FPS meter!

Fps

It’s in the top right of the screenshot. You can enable it in the Performance settings.

Apart from frames per second, it also shows memory usage (this does not include GPU memory though, which is the biggest hog) and a CPU usage percent.

For the knowledgeable, the CPU usage is a measure on how much the CPU has to wait for GPU to finish rendering. If it is close to 100%, it means your framerate is CPU limited (i.e. CPU is not waiting at all, but working flat out). You can gain more FPS only by reducing visibility range.

If it’s low, like in the above screenshot, it means it’s GPU limited (or hitting the FPS limit), and you can gain more FPS by reducing your screen resolution or removing the limit.

I’m working on heat calculations now.

[EDIT]

Adding coordinates is a great idea. But I don’t want to add them to the FPS display, which is for geeks only. And I only want them to be visible in creative mode. Getting lost in challenging is part of the experience.

Here’s what I came up with:

Location

Location is displayed in game menu, only in creative mode.

Cool! Need this for FL Studio on my computer :-) Is this automatically on the screen or is it optional? I don’t know if I’d want it to show up while taking a picture in the game. Does it?

1st. no one called it. YOU SHOULD ADD A COORDINATE DISPLAY SO YOU CAN SCREENSHOT IT AND NOT GET LOST!

Thanks for the update. I don’t really care too much WHEN the update comes, as long as I know it is coming. These blog updates really do make or break the game for me. If I feel the app has been abandoned I won’t nothing with it. So than you again for the update.

What about an option to display coordinates for adventure mode? I’d love to make maps that tell the player where to go using coordinates.

Love these new features man. There awsome, but I’d like y’all to know what I want added …possibly for the next update . 1. Multiplayer . or at any point . you’d probly be a millionaire haha . 2 . make whether effects more inversive . especially the snow cause snowy places are the best places for me to stay . 3. Wagons , yes cause then there would be a point of getting out of the house besides for food ,build roads ect . 4. A musket . yes a gun but let it kill in one shot and not kill me if I shoot a wolf that jumped over the wall and charged me … Yea it happened and I died . 77 days gone forms that .. Ehh. 5. More growable food . vegetation can be grown on the side of hills ,like vines , I have my reasons . 6 . now this I only seen a few times on post but still , make another work bench aka repair bench so we don’t have to constantly stock up on weapons that are used so much that we make new ones . + it would probly save space on your sim card and in the game . right . 7 .camo suit . like you could hunt without being seen by predators . it only works during the day and u have to move slowly . 8 . I don’t know for sure if there will be new clothing as in different outfits if u have to make cloths , lets make are own . maybe put dye in the game to color them whatever we want . it be good if it is . if not that’s 8 . 9. Pets . plese add companions to the game . whether it be people NPCS or dogs to cats .. It would all be cool . and 10 . add a new enemy or something that can get into your base . possibly” break blocks ” that would make Survival craft the best game on any phone anywhere for sure . If anyone agrees with any of this please comment 1-10 . or any one you want more . thanks for reading

  19. Posted November 21, 2014 at 00:28 | Permalink | Reply

Also 1 more thing .11. , I don’t know if this is in the next update . probly not. But temperature should not just affect the player . let it affect the animals as well . maybe maybe them go find a cave or hide under a tree . it can go for all animals except birds during the day no mater what kind of temp as long as its flying during non stormy whether . and when there not therein or under a tree . but if birds can break blocks it could make its own hole in the tree . huh . wolfs and super predictors will only attack if its not storming .maybe big foots haha jk but something , aahh this game is turning into a masterpiece . thank u kaaluss , for bringing joy to so many people including me .

Can someone do me a favor and explain what the post means …even know I’m in high school I still don’t know what fps gpu or CPU I’m not the most intelligent person

    • Posted November 21, 2014 at 01:16 | Permalink | Reply

CPU is short for “central processing unit”. Its the brain of the computer.
GPU is the “graphics processing unit”.
Its for the graphics of the game. FPS is “frames per second”.

We used to mention adding a coordinate map of the world before the compass was added. Maybe a coordinate map to find certain places in your world you like to visit.

maby if you live in a snow bimo you could build a fire place to keep your hous warm or need some sorce of heat that would be amazing and nice job on this new update kaalua

Hey kaalus i have some ideas for the players temperature

    1. If you crouch it acts like huddling so you gain some warmth

    2. Cows and other herds huddle together in a cold environment

3.being in water cools you down so if you’re in a desert you can jump in water to help be cool or go into shade.

    4. When you are too hot you can start to see red spots on your screen and you move slover.

    5. Turning on a furnace or couching near a fire/fireplace heats you up.

6.different furs from different animals heat you up more (a tiger’s and lion’s coat would be warmer than a cow’s)

    • Posted November 21, 2014 at 04:59 | Permalink | Reply

“Edit please read” like some people said i would love wagons that you can attach horses and donkey to with string. With these wagons you can sleep (must make a tarp out off animal hides) and store items (as much as a chest.

    • Posted November 21, 2014 at 05:00 | Permalink | Reply

I agree except the cow herd thing and the red spots thing. Cows only huddle in real life when there is danger or it’s about to have some sort of precipitation (I live on a farm) but maybe instead of red spots he just plain out says “It’s hot” or sweat drops go down the screen like rain on a car windshield

Will the weather have an effect on the temperature? ie. If it starts raining or snowing will the temperature drop and force the player to find shelter or put on warmer clothes? I think it would be an amazing feature if that was how it worked.

Also would it be possible to make rain in the desert extremely rare? In some deserts in real life it might only rain once in a year.

    Suggestion:
1.You get warmer if you’re near the fire. It would be great if you’re in a cold place and only wearing thin clothes. But the light will also attract other animals.
2.it will get colder at night, especially in desert.

Kaalus, I have a question. When I put too many orcas(9~14, so probably above 9~10) in one place, one or two of them disappear. I think they died because sometimes there were raw fish floating among the others. I can’t imagine why, since the place is quite deep and large. I already lost about four or five orcas. It’s infuriating. Can you PLEASE tell me what the problem is?
    Thanks!

Anyway, thanks a lot! I’d have to make some kind of feeding system………..

We need some kind of basic aircraft such as a balloon or a glider. From there, we should be able to throw bombs, spears, rocks, shoot arrows from bows and cross bows and even swoop down to use your melee weapon. Can be good for transportation in is self.

This game has come so far since i last played it, and seeing it now has reminded me to start playing it again. Kaalus, if you are reading this, i would like to suggest you add more
“electric” aspects of the game. By this I mean things like pulverizers/grindstones that grind your ore for more output, or electric/induction furnaces that don’t require coal, or even steam engines or boilers that run on coal and charcoal/lava and produce energy. Heck, you could even add a battery block that allows the storage of energy for later use, or steam pistons that allow us to create automatic doors! I know this may or may not be getting out of the games theme on survival, but then again, i don’t think its too far fetched at all. I know this is a lot to ask, but i believe that adding a whole new aspect to the already awesome electric system will make the game so much better!

Ps. If you ever do use these ideas, be sure to give me credit for the idea :P

Hey kaalus i have an idea how to go arownd with villiges.
So in the game the ship lands you on a lone island and leaves, but the ship has to leave somewhare so how about making villiges a bit further away from the initial island you start in.

So tell me what you think guys

Please reconsider map coordinates for harmless mode.

  42. Posted November 24, 2014 at 23:56 | Permalink | Reply

What if, you let us have coordinates in survival, but limited. For example, we can use ink, and a map. You walk around and create coordinates. But once your ink runs out, you cant create anymore. Then, your map, will have the coordinates. If you decide to add this, please make sure the ink runs out fast, because I want people to struggle and lose. This would really add a lot of character to the whole game. If you want, you can also implement the idea on other objects such as a book and a painting you can draw in. The ink can come from black paint and something else. Please consider this.

It hasn’t even been released for testing on google play. Why would it be released on ios first? iOS has certification, so it should not be released on ios until it’s been fully tested. I don’t like ios anyway.
