I think you noticed that already, but a couple of weeks ago I made a large change to the way community content is ranked. This roughly coincided with 1.25 release.
The problem was that the old algorithm was putting too much stress on number of downloads and ratings.
The new system takes into account a lot more factors than just raw downloads. Most importantly, the older the content gets, the more it gets downranked. I think this is good, because once something gets to the top of the list, it starts amassing hundreds of thousands of downloads and ratings. It then becomes even more entrenched at the top, other content never has any chance of dislodging it.
Now, with time working against it, anything near the top should not stay there for months on end as it was before.
I am still occasionally tweaking various parameters in the algorithm, but it’s not a major change, just small corrections.
I wonder if Google guys feel the same when they tweak Google Search ranking algorithm :-)

I’d rather want to see a car in this game. Getting around would be so much easier.
Rather than commuting this to an animal update ,being that we have a good variety ( not saying we don’t need more. I’d like a platypus :D) but I would rather this be a “fish update”. I think we should add to the variety of fish and add fish nets and fishing poles (both vital items in a survival setting and both can be made of materials already in the game)

Could you make the next update a survival/weather update and make it so we can choose what we want to be added like if you dont want rain you can choose what weather you get, also can you add something else to the community content so game makers can make mods or something and upload it, also can you add in some more survival features like temperature but make it so if it gets to annoying we can turn it of via the setting, good job on game but we have enough wepons

Actually, if you are trying to be realistic you should not be able to tame gnus or bulls to ride on as gnus have never been tamed and are not smart enough to be tamed and bulls never get completely tamed. Also in real life zebras are unable to be trained because they are too stubborn.

I like the book idea.
Basalt is too brittle,its basically compacted ash. Also a horse can jump a 1block tall fence,so use a stable. The boots idea is kinda cool but it should have a different effect. Backpack should be crafted into saddle bag
Wood armor isn’t flexible enough, because it will snap. And stone is too brittle. And horses can’t go over iron fences, only werewolves can.

Wood armor, basically useless. Weak and too costly. Rock armor never existed. Only Iron would work for armor. Yeah, this game was meant to be realistic, and so let’s get real. Diamond can’t be made into armor. No. In fact it’s weak. Remember hardest mineral. As in resistance to being scratched. Actually watched a video on how diamond armor is practically worthless. While diamond swords are still efficient, armor is not. And let’s step back further. Armor? If you seriously need armor, you must be bad at survival. We’re not battling exploding creatures and dragons. That’s why Minecraft has them. But this is Survivalcraft, you don’t need protection from animals. And armor was made to protect from swords and guns. Not little animals. Tactics, not running around and smashing things. And boots reducing fall damage? Okay someone jumps off of a small building barefoot. One jumps off with shoes. Neither died.Neither took much damage. Shoes aren’t protection.Sorry for being so rude, but these same ideas that came directly from Minecraft makes no sense. It really makes no sense.

Diamond isn’t weak its actually realy strong its actually very brittle which is very different from being a weak material
At the perfect angle you can cut straight through diamond with one hit. And to make Diamond armor, you have to smelt it. To melt it than cool it off into the shape. Diamond is melted at 3000 degrees. A furnace can’t heat that. It would break easily.

Everyone always says to wait,but I’ve been waiting too long,of course he could still add a few things,but for now I have enough things in game to last me until multiplayer. With these new weapons,did anyone realize that the attack power is enough to oneshot someone? What’s the point of being able to snipe with the crossbow and not be able to kill something besides a bird in one hit. The crossbow certainly isn’t very good for survival as it takes alotof iron,and the bow only needs gravel and a stick and a feather
Well, all this game needs now is:
1. Minecarts (yea, minecarts. Its one of the most enjoyable things in that-other-game)
2. Some way for electronic devices to interact with blocks (read: pistons)
3. Multiplayer with opensource server (or at least some way to easily add plugins), so one could easily make mods (in multiplayer worlds, thats it, but still better than nothing)
Now I understand that server machine would need to be pretty powerful, to keep all players and blocks synced – i think most would be ok with it being windows/linux application.

You are a idiot. You obviously don’t know what effort and time it takes to make a good game. Roblox is a great example. You need to program things, since the computer doesn’t know English, because everyone has a way of saying things differently. That’s why you need to program. Join roblox, then make your game, and then you have experience making a good game and see why kaalus can’t do it in 5 minutes.

You’re right… theyre adding so much from minecraft pc… infinite worlds, npc villages, giant caves, abandoned mineshafts, strongholds, tamed wolves and more biomes. I’ve played minecraft pc a few times and I still play survivalcraft. So I dont think mincraft pe will make me stop playing. I hope 1.26 will add as much as last year’s 1.22 did.

Yeah 1.22 added a lot, but making weapons and tools is a whole different matter. (I play toolbox, but I play survivalist too, but in toolbox I can script and it’s complicated to make a weapon with Lua, it must be complicated for another programming language.

BUG!!! This bug has been there for quite some time now (for me, not sure about others), but I noticed that after a while (3 or 4 days), my world gets deleted off the community content for no reason. Anyone else seeing this happen with your worlds?
Yea my hard work map which is now lost got deleted for no reason.
The largest/most complex worlds should automatically go to the top. For example Kaalus City. :)
What is Kaalus city map?
Its a flat world city map named after kaalus that has skyscrapers, strobe light discos, a football arena, a huge basketball stadium with flashing leds , a beach, a giant tree hotel on the beach, a waterpark on the beach, zoo, a handbuilt mountain range biome, a jungle forest with a tropical river and a deciduous forest biome with a small stream of water, an abandoned haunted cabin in the forest, a creeper statue of liberty, a park, and a lot more. An island resort with a jungle and a volcano is coming next. All being built by a group of builders and I.

Does anybody have a bug with explosions in the cannon btw?
When firing a cannon the blast is supposed to come out of the nuzzle only and not destroy any wiring place at the outsides and back of the cannon. When I fire the cannon the explosion is not contained, still sphere shaped instead of cone shaped and destroys my wires all the time., This is not how it is supposed to be people.
Do more people have this problem?
Does your terrain around the cannon get destroyed and not only at the exit point of your barrel?
ps: K i have the idea that people didn’t know how it had supposed to work and never filed it as a bug..
Or even better give me a feedback on how your cannons are working.
a) Is the terrain around your cannon destroyed or only at the exit point.
b) Are your wires destroyed?
c) Look closely at Kaalus canon video. His explosion is cone shaped and exits at the end of the barrel. How does your explosion look? Spereshaped or cone? Is it centered t the charge/Gunpowderkeg or at the exit point of the nuzzle.
note: In all case the projectile is launched it it might look as if it is working.

Now that Ive mentioned pc, you can play survivalcraft on pc. Download bluestacks application from the website, sign in your google play or apple account, go to survivalcraft, and it will let you play on pc. Its almost like minecraft pc controls. It doesn’t lag either because youre using a computer that handles the game a lot better than phones/tablets. That means you can walk around in a big survivalcraft city on 160 blocks render distance with no lag. It also lets you play any other app from google play/appstore on pc. http://www.bluestacks.com

I tried changing some keyboards settings through androids settings just likeyou would do on a handheld device. But have the feelings it doesn’t worlk like that since this is emulated. :(
Just like it couldn’t download content (from dropbox either) as it is looking for a WiFi to connect to the internet with, wich it does not have of course.

I see it as (for the Tigers) the orange Tigers are males but the rare white ones are females. For the Wolves I see it as the (coyote) is the female and the gray ones are the males. For Horses, the rare white ones are the only females.

Make improvements on the bombs, they can’t break through granite. I chucked a ton of them into a hole I made and nothing happened (Except getting set on fire a few times because I forgot how explosions work now) Strange thing is it broke through a piece of uh.. That block.. Um. It’s not bedrock. BASALT. It broke through a price of the basalt barrier I made to keep it from flying everywhere.

You can download 0.9.0 on 4shared now. It has so much stuff. Its ironic that minecraft pe has out done minecraft xbox and minecraft playstation.
It still hasn’t outdone survivalcraft, except by smoother screen resolution, more generated structures, and more biomes. Survivalcraft’s basic gameplay puts it on top. ;)

Well Kaalus… I would say we need books. I know it might take up alot of memory if we have many, but maybe you can create something to not make it so big? Oh God, even I’m confused about what I said 😂
You should add fishing rods, and more types of fish and be able to make food out of whales and you should make bone weapons or something to make the game a more realistic survival experience, and you should be able to upgrade your boat or have canons or harpoons stuff lie that and their should be villagers or other inhabitants of the island your on like caveman or nomads. My Friend also said that their should be cars like olden cars not modern ones.

Hey do you guys know what we could have in survivalcraft to help us in survival modes?
Backpacks!!They could have a 5×5 storage space and we could make them out of leather and string.
We should also have candles that can be lit up by a match(and CANNOT set things on fire)and we could put them out by punching them or hitting them with leather or snow.And they should be everlasting!
A few other things could be fishing poles,ropes and saddlebags for horses donkeys and camels,evergreen and food trees(apple,orange,pecan,and mangoe),more sea animals,new biomes with new animals according to them,and canoes with paddles!
I have one last request,though.Canteens!we should have the ability to drink water and milk so we dehydrate when we don’t drink any fliuds for a lond period of time.

Hey guys, I’ve got another issue with my content. I did a factory reset and reinstalled survival craft. I signed into my drop box and downloaded my worlds and all went well. However when I go to the “my content” tab, there isn’t anything there. I had “Pull this…” and “don’t panic” published and have been keeping an eye on their downloads. Its the same dropbox account as before. I’ll publish them again but I don’t want to lose the numbers.
Can’t republish actually.. It says the links already exist… And they do.. But I still can’t get them back in my content
We need more big cats. I mean like Cheetahs, Panthers, Cougars, Lynxes, and others. Here’s what they can do:
Cheetahs: Fastest animal in the game, rare so you don’t die often, when killed, drops fur. (If clothing is added)
Panthers: Not so rare but spawn rate are like Giraffes, will not attack you unless you attack them first. Drops nothing.
Cougars: Only appear on mountains, won’t attack you unless you have some food in your hands, drops fur.
Lynxes: Only appear in snow bios, only attacks if you get to close.

hello kaalus! first of all I must say that you have done a great job so far :) I would like to give you some ideas for the new update! add penguins and make them lay eggs and drop raw bird meat and feather, add crocodiles , gorillas, bats , sheeps and make them drop wool, turtles, and other animals. add armor, add gold ores , add rails , add mine carts, bamboo plants , emerald ores , ruby ores ,saphire ores , more painting colours, add lamas, add frozen caves with ice spikes biomes causing damage!!! I hope that you will find interesting my ideas and I hope that will help you for the next update!! thanks for your time :) keep up the good work!!!

Maybe wishful thinking but could it be possible that kaalus is planning to release 2 versions of the game? One with multiplayer and one without, both with different prices (which would explain why the current game would have to be deleted). Not suggesting it is the reason but just a possible explanation

Kaalus could you add the ability to paint wooden doors.
Kaalus can you make that sometimes when you attack reindeer, the reindeer attacks you back and kicks and hits you with its head things. Because now they are unrealistic. And make them be in bigger packs/herds…. And make them come for example if you use whistle… Or any big voice…
Great update. BTW just bought it for Windows Phone, I used to have it for iOS but now I can play it on my lumia 1320, BTW Its fast even on the best settings (including experimental distance). ps. kaalus, there is a bug, my phone is 16:9, when I restart the game, (not level, I mean game) it becomes 15:9 but still says 16:9! A 16:9 -> 15:9 -> 16:9 makes it fine… Fix it please.

You should make armor and some sort of boat made of iron or copper so that you could get across lava! And you should add thirst because in real life survival that’s your main concern! But by far this is my favorite game ever!

Did you know that the new update for MCPE is on it’s way and it’s infinite worlds with villages? Also if you have MCPC and MCEdit you can switch between PC and PE. I loved SurvivalCraft but I’m now building my own custom world for PE using MCEdit and World Painter with tons of biomes and mountains that are actually mountains with caves, not hills like in SurvivalCraft. I am a handheld player and knowing what I can do now with Minecraft the choice is clear. Maybe if SC had multiplayer I’d give it a chance but I’m sorry Kaalus I just can’t do it any more.
Thank you for everything but if I could suggest one thing, get a team of programmers together. You’ve done amazing things alone but are falling far behind the curve with just you alone. Your game is fine for causal players but not for the more advance.

Even though MCPE is o.k its not a scratch on the PC version! Until PE can add things like Electrics or Redstone I’m sticking with Survival Craft which is far more superior in this department, my opionion anyway! Multiplayer I would never use, I find it pointless! However some sort of automatic transport I.e. on a track system (not just riding or flying) would be great on survival craft!!

Hey, excuse me, idiot. SC is not a casual game. I used to like mine craft but it sucks in my opinion now. The rails are useless and minecarts are fools. You are probably playing mahjong, not mojang.
I would prefer building electrics on MCPC actually, because if you’ve ever tried to build a calculator on SC you know that there is a rather small area you have to build in for your contraption to work, I think it is about a 121×121×121 block, that you are in the center of meaning 60 blocks right, 60 blocks up, 60 blocks in front, 60 blocks behind,60 blocks left and 60 blocks down, when building electronics in SC you may notice your contraptions can get quite large and you may run out of room very fast. On minecraft pc this area is much larger, something like 5001×5001×5001, or some ridiculously large area, but on MC you have to hand build all of your circuits and remember to put repeaters which is quite annoying as some circuits can be very complex qnd there may not be a good place to put a repeater.
I can’t stand MCPE’s controls. In terms of what I personally need MC has more for me than SC but I miss SC’s controls so much. It’s ridiculous how much the two differ! I’m used to SC’s place a block where you tap not PE’s place a block directly in front of you.

What SC needs is: more food, a leather block that you can paint, so no more sleeping on wood, pistons! Books you can write in, more blocks! Minecarts, PAINTINGS! bookcases, stackable snow, snow block, villagers! Animal breeding as well as taming, stained glass, maybe stained clay, and maybe some ores, and of course more plants, trees, lily pads! Moving water animations, ability to edit the sky with texture packs, more storms! I bet you could do a tornado since it’s basically like what you did with explosives, I’d also like you to add a way to hide wires better, anyways please add these things! I’m really hoping you will add a few things at least

Maybe he got into an argument with Amazon and Amazon thought Minecraft was better and took it down. Maybe Amazon saw that tactless Nate Roberts’s email and took down survivalcraft from their stores. Well, personally, I think Minecraft is really bad and Survivalcraft is more that 9000 x 9000 times better than Minecraft.

One thing I would like to see added to survivalcraft is more ores, such as silver, gold, titanium, aluminum, etc. In real life, there are more metals than every other kind of element combined, yet on SC we only have 2 metals, copper and iron. These work fine, but there is only one metal for tools and only one metal for electrics, also I think we definitely need more kinds of food, like a sandwich, also we need fruits and more plantable vegetables. Also farming rye needs to be more efficient in my opinion, to grow it you really need a warm, moist place, saltpeter, dirt, water, seeds, and a fence to keep animals out. In real life, you dont need a 3 acre field to make a sustainable food source for one person, also rye does not really need fertilized ground to grow, or very much water, also do we really need copper to make buckets, wooden buckets work fine. Also in real life we really need water, we can go a week without eating, but only a couple days without water. Im sorry if this sounds like im slamming the game, but some categories need improved. I understand nothing will probably be changed in the game by what Im saying, because kaalus is only one guy, he probably wont even read this, and some people just flatly disagree with what I’m saying, but these are the changes that I personally would like to see in the game.

I think that sc is amazing now because they’re are so many animals and different features but something that would make the game better are intelligent natives that don’t just wander around but actually add something to the game.
Maybe add new animals too though, like rabbits, penguins, crabs, etc.

Hi, guys..I used to live and die for this game… Although I have left it, I still would like to play it. I think the large electrical update (few updates ago) did me in.
I never wanted a multiplayer.. But after leaving SC and playing other multiplayer games, I find SC way to lonely..
The next update needs multiplayer period.

Uhhh, guys I have noticed something about Survivalcraft on Amazon and Google Play. Well, this morning, I went on my Kindle, and SC had a new update, so I downloaded it. Then, I noticed the SC icon changed. I went into the game, and almost ALL of the default blocks textures were changed. The new textures look awesome, but you would think Kaalus would make a post about changing them. Weird, right?
I checked and i updated it,hes not lying!

Time has passed. 1 month yet, no new posts. Kaalus, maybe it’s your time to rest now. I’ve been expecting better in 1.26. I have suggestions, if you see them, please do all you can. You can ignore it but, this suggestions may turn your mind around.
1. Armors:
Armors are used to make the player get protected by predators.
If you wish not to copy some armors at Minecraft, this can be the armors:
• Copper Armor – This armor name looked strange cause it’s Copper and no one actually knows that there is a copper armor. Copper armor makes the player not to get so much damage in explosives.
• Diamond Armor – Yes, this is an armor on minecraft. But because diamonds in Survivalcraft can get destroyed by fire, this armor will make the player get much damage in fire and lava. But it is protective against predators.
• Iron Armor – This is like Diamond Armor as I suggested above, but this is in normal damage and no weakness.
• Leather Armor – You can get this in cows, so I suggested this one because it might be useful for starting survival. But this have a weakness, the leather will be burnt when you get on fire about 10s.
NOTE: In minecraft, there is no weakness about the armors, but I suggested you to make armor have weakness so this will be different from Minecraft.
I have another suggestion but this is actually useful if you want to change your material to another material.
Trading
In Minecraft, Villagers are used to trade materials, but the one I suggested above is very different from Minecraft. In this suggestion, put villagers and make them trade to the player. In Minecraft, villagers use emeralds as their currency. But this suggestion will be differerent. The villagers I requested is that, every material has an exchange. For example:
You wanted to change your iron to diamond.
All you need to do is, give your iron to the villager, but there is number of iron to give the villager to change your iron. For example:
You have 5 iron and the villager wants 3 iron to change your iron to diamond. All you need to do is give the villager 3 iron and the villager will give you diamond. I know survivalcraft says “A ship maroons you on the shores of an infinity block world” means you are left alone in a world. Making villagers added will make the game more realistic and will look like a real life game. Yes, you are alone because you are left in a shore. If villagers are added, you are still alone because, villagers are just for trading and will help you live in survival. I know villagers are hard to code and add to survivalcraft because you still need how the trade happens. But villagers are very helpful for us, survivalcrafters.
This may make your mind turn around to add them. You say “Those are hard and will not make survivalcraft better”. It will make it better, armors are protection against dangerous explosives and predators and trading will help you live in survival.

Minecraft PE 0.9.0 is out in the app store. Kaalus, you’re no longer ahead. But still, go ahead and continue your Survivalcraft Updates and still compete Minecraft. (Actually, I like Minecraft than Survivalcraft but for me, they’re just the same for me and they’re just average. So I have no choice if what’s better. I’m a fan of two 👍). Minecraft PE update gets so much bugs than Survivalcraft. So continue your competition.

Actually, Survivalcraft addicts are already leaving cause the game is way too lonely. I got a world and uploaded it to community and uploading isn’t enough for me. I would like them to see how the people enjoy my world by adding multiplayer. I know coding for it is way too hard. But most addict people wouldn’t leave if added. But I’m not saying this to add multiplayer for Survivalcraft. But adding it will make Survivalcraft way too addict and most likely.
