No, I am not dead or a zombie! I am back at work on 1.24.
Before that, I think I will make one more service release of 1.23 on iOS (that fixes the textbox problem), but it’s a minor thing.
Anyway, the first big feature I am working on for 1.24 is a new weapon. I want to keep it secret for a little longer, but guesses are welcome, as always :-)
Whatever it is, I would like to do this release before Christmas. There isn’t much time left, therefore it may be a little smaller than 1.23 was. We’ll see how it will work out.

You left the box yes but for a different one ;) it is called a spear and I just tested it and it works on bass.
It may work but not very well because one hit and they are gone like the wind, that’s why I think something like a fishing rod ( harpoon ) would be nice so you could hook them out of the water and onto dry land!

I believe it’s a bow and arrow also, I personally would prefer a crossbow so there is some difference from MC. But a bow and arrow with be sweet nonetheless:) and 1.24 will be here before Xmas is absolutely the best part:D I’ll take anything with a quick release like that:) that means possibly only 5 weeks away! It IS the BOW. He mentioned it on youtube he’s adding a bow to the spear. I also asked him on twitter last month about adding a bow and he said its on the list of things he will add. Its a bow for sure. He mentioned adding it twice in the past guys. :)
Those sound good. He has to add some new biome one day. Atleast I hope he does. Id love a volcanic biome or a dense forest or swamp with alligators lurking at the bottom. Good idea if you’re reading this kaalus. ;D

A bow would be cool but I’m hoping its a dart gun… Maybe we can get some poisonous berries to dip the darts in for a stronger weapon? I’m also hoping we can get the rope for tying up boats and rideable animals. right now I pretty much ride my animals to a good cave or mining spot and then have to hike it back home cause I get find them when I get out. The boats aren’t as bad as one can usually find the wood needed for a quick crafting table and boat fairly easy.
Also any word on the bug where sound is lost after receiving a phone call… I’m using an iPhone 5 and have to completely exit the game and restart if someone calls while I’m playing… It’s not that big if a deal since it’s pretty easy to fix just inconvenient. Thanks kaalus love the game and all the work you put into it
Hey Britt, I’m on ios and had this problem, I found a Solution that has worked 100% of the time for me, it isn’t the game, if your on ios, check by your manual volume button, switch it over until you see the orange dot… It will take it off mute. My ipad was on mute the entire time and had that sound loss problem until I switched it over… You can google or youtube this fix, I hope this helps:)
Thanks but my phone isn’t on mute… The volume will be working fine but if someone calls when it switches back to the game no there’s no volume unless I restart the game
I know… Just try it out though…switch it until you see the orange dot. I have had my sound working 100% of the time since then. Kaalus is going to give ios a lil bug fix and this isn’t on his mind because it’s not the games fault.

Quite obviously a bow. A fishing rod really isn’t considered a weapon. If not that then a sling to throw stone chunks and the like, lol @gabe rave. Over a few ppls heads I think.

Dylan he said he was adding a bow on twitter when I asked him, on youtube video when he said he must add the bow to spears, and on wordpress when he replied to a comment saying he will add the bow in a future update. Its a bow 100% because I asked him last month on twitter. :D
I would like some tweaking of wolves behaviour. Real wolves avoid people, your ones hang around during the day, if their AI accidentally makes them come against you, they attack. Can you change it so that during the day they will attempt to be at least ten blocks away?
Yes, the wolves are just too crazy aggressive, both night and day. Needs a little tweaking all right.
Can you post the update on christmas Kaalus? It would be an awesome present to all your fans, also could you add something for christmas like on holloween? How bout snowmen! They could be a genereted structure(good practice since you said you were working on that) or even a rare animal that you can find in snow biomes! That would be pretty impressive, anyways i think its a bow XD

can you tweak the explosions from the powder kegs so that when they explode they send the particles/destroyed blocks flying in all directions and can you make digging in creative mode faster, something similar to minecrafts speed, it is hard to get motivation to build large creations because the digging is really slow
Go to your settings and increase your speed to break blocks faster.

We need aquatic plants. Here are my ideas. They should be easy to do and make a HUGE difference in the beauty of he world. This is what I had in mind:
Kelp: grows in oceans. About 3-5 blocks high on average.
Sea Grass: Pretty self -explanitory. Basically tall grass that spawns at the bottom of lake beds.
Lily Pads:Not in every lake, but in some. Some lily pads have lilies growing on them, others don’t. They also spawn frogs which can sometimes be seen swimming in the pond or lake or resting on a lily pad.
These are just my ideas because the various bodies of water in SC are pretty barren, and those little things will make a huge difference. Thanks Kaalus!
We could also use pumpkin seeds because pumpkin pie could be a future food recipe and you can only find pumpkins in the wild.

I couldn’t find the post where Kaalus said he was adding a bow….but if he said he was adding something to make a spear go farther, then it Wouldn’t be a bow, irl it would be impractical to propel a spear from a bow….so….it might be a Atlatl. I would prefer a Atlatl over a bow and arrow because it would be more original and not be similar to MC.

I had an idea.
Ok,so, its a map. But,you need paint for it. Maybe a log from a tred can give AT LEAST 20 peices if paper.
If you pit it in crafting table beside gredn paint, the grass/plains/forest biomes will show. Put that in with blur paint, water bioms will show. Lastly, put in with yellow paint, and desert bioms will show.
Also, if you fill a crafting table with full color maps,you can have a map you can put on a wall. I think you can add checkpoints on a map. You can name them, so, if you have a big, huge world, you know where to go. I think all checkpoints should atomomaticly appear on all maps. Also, maybe the big map can be about 4 blocks wide and 2 or 3 blocks tall?

Alot of people say that the island you start SC on is uninhabited, but I dont recall you saying that anywhere. besides if you are possibly adding a type of npc how is it uninhabited?

Lol, it just says an island,its been two years since the first update and we just now find evidence of people, graves and traps, I am wondering if it’s like Easter island,with all the dead people. When I find a grave,I expect that if someone was there,they’d attack me,kinda like taking quartz from the nether,then having zombie pigs try to kill you
I haven’t found any graves yet, though I’m a thorough explorer! lots of grass traps, though. I keep creating new worlds and exploring them far and wide on creative, trying to find some graves, but nope. do they only show up in survival mode? I’ve explored pretty darn far in those worlds as well, but no graves yet. any tips for finding them? are they located only in certain biomes? thanks!
They spawn in creative and survival,in all biomes,just have to have a sharp eye to see them from above
The ones I’ve found are near grass traps maybe if u look into logic because naturally people when they build graves for their deceased family members back then they would put lots of traps near the graves so Boom.

Who said the graves were for people? People have graves for pets… The heads stones could be for them. And the traps for animals of course, but if your willing to debate the idea of who put them there…. Then don’t waste your time because how do we even get to having a battery or electric circuits…
Those are for creative mode,and everyone dies once,we haven’t met anyone yet,maybe they are dead. But maybe they are nomadic and move with the animals, so we haven’t seen them yet,you might not want them following you home,they might be able to use doors
Sorry I wasnt clear… i meant people are saying you cant add them because its uninhabited. And according to some you wont add multiplayer because of said inhibition, but then again you said your adding multiplayer sometime in the far future….

One can arrive at a uninhabited island, but on the same token others can arrive also…therefore not alone anymore…hence possible multiplayer.
Add a local game
A bow and arrow that actually damage the beasties would be great. Creative mode is great but challange and even harmless mode have suffered greatly.
Mounted animals have become useless. I can go further and faster walking. The biggest problems are
1. Stubbornness. I can see a donkey being stubborn but never a horse.
2. They run away or vanish completely from their enclosures. I’ve built walls 3 blocks high and still come out to find my animals gone and nowhere to be found.
The solutions could be:
Eliminate stubbornness from all horses (not just palaminos).
Program animals who are wearing a saddle to always stay exactly where you dismount or never wander more then a few blocks from the dismount block.
Reducing the attack range to 2 from 5 makes it nearly impossible to kill a pack of wolves. If the animals are going to be more aggressive then at least give players a fighting chance. Plus, even if I do manage to wipe out a pack of wolves, they come back! In real life predatory animals tend to migrate away from human habitation, not into it.
Another thing. Farming is way too tedius. It’s not a viable way to have a consistant food source. After all that work I’d think it would be usable. How about making it so you can walk on your plowed field without destroying it? Also, increase the amount of flour you get per 16 harvested seeds.
Otherwise it’s still a great game.
Dear Kaalus, I would like to ask you now about what, why a person who can do very complex elements of the technique can not make their own clothes?
Assuming that the new weapon is a bow, or bow like structure, we could use a new animal to try it on. With Christmas right around the corner, and the abundance of cold biomes, we could use a new animal to live in the cold biomes. What about reindeer? They travel in herds, are skittish of people (making them perfect victims of a ranged weapon), and are exclusive to the tundra biomes.

we really need armor, though, Kaalus. if there is any possible way to make leather armor from hides, or hides and sticks, that would be a great start. (then metal armor could be added in later updates.)
I always ask for armor because while I love building, I also love playing survival and I want a chance to survive animal attacks for just a bit longer on the more challenging levels. also, armor could allow for less injury on accidental longer drops. a specific example is leather boots: they would be awesome if they allow one to survive a grass-and-spike trap just long enough to dig a side-block and get off the spikes. I’m not talking about invincibility, but small increments of additional time.
also, armor is simply a realistic survival tool. if I were stuck on an island, with no shoes, I would wrap my feet in whatever leaves I could find, I’d also make a head-covering. it is basic human instinct to want to put some kind of covering between us and the dangers of the wild and the weather.
please think about your logical arc of updates into the future … having basic armor in 1.24 would later allow for an un-armored person’s health to be slightly affected by snow and ice, or the heat of the desert sands’ effect on feet, or even protect against general damage from climbing around on stone blocks – all things to think about in future updates to keep Survivalcraft more real, more challenging and more fun than the competitors!

I think that one of the next weapons will be added/why I think they should or shouldn’t be added:
Rifle/Gun – I think this should be added, but in a much later update.
Bow & Arrows – I think this is the weapon that will be added, it should be added because we need a more reliable long-range weapon.
Shield – Not really a weapon, but would be useful for defending yourself. (Could be made with sticks and leather.)
Or sticks and iron and you could add spikes to the shield so it does damage to the attacker
Kaalus, you should add a rare comet every now and then. :) Comet ison is coming up and you should add a comet to the game in honor of comet ison and its million mile trip. :)
Hmmm .. exploring your idea….what if a rare meteor would hit the ground? A new rare natural disaster….Perhaps destroying and burning things in the way, leaving a crater and depositing metal blocks behind…It would be quite adventurous to look up in the sky and see a “falling star” and then track it down….Come to think of it… I just realized SC does not have a GOLD block… Hmmm… Perhaps Kaalus can add gold in the future…perhaps gold wiring, gold weapons or gold armor…. If there were to be npc’s in the future, perhaps we could smelt the gold into gold shillings or gold coins for trade or purchasing.

I have a suggestion to improve the game I think you should add dogs(training method for wolves),ridable sea creatures,cats,illness,tropical storms(tornadoes,hurricanes,flooded,etc.),monster that are A.
