The next survival mechanic is need to sleep. As stamina, it will only exist in Challenging, Cruel and Adventure. What it boils down to is that you can function for about 2 game days without sleep. After that, you will lose consciousness and collapse, wherever you are. Most likely, the animals will then make a hash of you :-)

No, the yellow lines and dots in the earlier post was not Pac-Man mode :-) As many of you noticed, it’s pathfinding. There are a few issues with it, though.
First of all, it’s quite costly (i.e. needs a lot of CPU), so the animals try to avoid it unless absolutely necessary.
Second, at the moment it does not work very well. The pathfinding itself (the yellow line on the screenshot was the path found by the algorithm) works perfectly. What doesn’t work so well is the animals navigating the real world along the path. The world in Survivalcraft is quite complex and 3D. Things like doors, narrow or low passages, sticking out corners, dangers (magma, cacti etc.) make it quite difficult to get it to work reliably. But I am trying.
I think it’s important that I get this done. I have been planning it for a long time. Without it the animals are like little insects, only seeing a block or two around them. With pathfinding they will be able to penetrate into your builds if you leave a hole open (or forget to close the door). They will also be able to do other things that I plan for the future.

Will animal attacks disrupt sleep like normal sleep? And will the counter for indicating sleep be reset in that situation, or will it still be in effect? I think that if an attack foes occur blackouts should still be in effect, just started over at the first sign of blackout or something.

I’m glad sleep isn’t a mandatory-every-night thing, because that would be unrealistic. Improved path-finding is a good add too, although it eating the CPU is a bummer for those of us on older devices.
I would like to object to the limit for exhaustion. Firstly, I will say that my argument is based on the assumption that each block in SurvivalCraft is one meter by one meter by one meter. If this is not true, then my main argument is void. So, here’s the thing: The average person can speed-walk (I assume that the character is speed-walking as some say he is running, while others say he is walking) about 1.5 miles. That comes to about 2,414.02 meters, according to Google’s conversion tool. Therefore, shouldn’t our character be able to go about two thousand blocks before even slowing down. However, one could argue that the character was maybe the captain of the ship that dropped him of (I love the beginning, Kaalus!), and was thrown out when mutiny occurred. Ship captains are notorious for being slow and weak, in some cases. Therefore, say we start of our handsome character at one thousand meters. This is where I bring in my feature request part of this comment/post (I have pre-written this and plan for it to go both on the forums and in the comments of the next blog post).
This is how what I have planned will work:
The character starts of at one thousand blocks of walking stamina, and say 250 of jumping (I easily do 250 jumping exercises every morning). After having his energy stores depleted an amount of times that I hope the community and Kaalus will decide (I suggest four), the character’s stamina goes up by one percent (I know this seems small, but read on). This brings his stamina to 1,010 blocks of travel and 255 jumping stamina. The next time, it TAKES TWO MORE PERIODS OF EXHAUSTION to increase his stamina. It goes on like this, with the number of necessary exhaustion periods increasing by two. We could have a max of perhaps 3000 blocks of travel and 500 blocks jumping. And that’s my proposal, which I hope you will consider.
Finally, I would like to ask for some other features. Don’t worry, I won’t be posting this in the forums (check me out, username impostura_one).
1) A gamemode switch button in game. I find it annoying having to quit the game, go to the modify section, and then re-enter the game. I understand that having a game-mode switch button would probably include leaving the game and all that, just that the game would do most of it for you.
2) Folders in Community Content. I have a dream of making a name for myself, just like those epic Minecraft PC map-makers. However, I can’t do that without having a folder that only I can post in. I don’t know if Dropbox supports this (the program that you download on your computer called Dropbox does support folders), but a very costly alternative would be getting your own servers hosted. Also, I was reading a thread in the forums earlier today about how making skins was possible, and I would love to see a section for skins in the Community Content.
I hope you read through this, and I would like to say that I (and most of us non-trolls here) really appreciate your efforts to out-craft SurvivalCraft. Craft with care, and good luck with the survival aspects!

I second this request. Seems very sensible, and I love the leveling up premise.
I don’t like that idea impostura one, I first liked the idea of the stamina but not really the switch button. Switch buttons are just plain old dumb, if ur playing a world and u are surrounded by wolves, u use the switch button to switch, no, that’s just cheating. I know some of u are gonna say then don’t use the switch button. While the switch button is there, it’s very discouraging for me to play. It’s like there’s no challenge to the game because u know u have the switch button. So that’s my opinion.
I see. What if you could disable the switch button from the settings? I based my request from the point of view of a wannabe map-maker, so that testing maps is easier, and does not involve exiting the game to get to the menu multiple times.

The difference between Kaalus and the PE developers is that when Kaalus does something, he does it fully. Minecraft PE plans to add online multiplayer in the next update- but no admin tools. That means that trolls can do anything without fearing retaliation. All the structures in a server could be burned down, and nothing could be done to kick the offender off the server. When Kaalus adds multiplayer (and he will SOMEDAY), he will likely put in real server tools. Trolls and other players who dare do anything to negatively impact a server will be kicked. There may even be a full set of admin tools, from spawn point setting to the ability to disable certain blocks. We just have to hope (and ask) for the best.

Kaalus, your talking a lot about making animals more dangerous. So add some more of them! You need lions, tigers, leopards, black panthers, elephants, hippos, rhinos, snakes, crocodiles, lizards, turtles, monkeys, gorillas, crabs, salmon, Octopi, squids, dolphins, orcas, and whales to have a diverse enough group.
P.S. I know I gave you a really long list. But seriously, you need a lot more animals.

there would at least have to be a login username and/or password but as far as I know skin packs are completely optional. (unless you’re like a VIP on a server and want a freaken awesome skin, I play hunger games on mc.snapcraft.net) :)

U should be able to have different tips not just diamonds just like the other tools
first you press “get content” then “private” then login or sign up then go to “single player” then select a map then press “modify” then press upload. well i’ll tell you where the mine is. its just right infront of the bench with torches then swim and look down you will see a hole that looks bright then that’s it. ghe red tower is just the light house and you can also jump there to the water. its red because to see it clearly. i mean what other things are red in the terrains in survivalcraft?

I think you should add a sea update. Firdt you should add a sea biome with islands spawning rare. This biome should be BIG because i dont think its quite right to have a sea biome at the size of other biomes. Secound you can add a ship.( I know your adding boats but a ship is cooler at the sea)
Third add fishing rods so you can fish.
You should add crabs at beaches.
You should add chutulus that are only in sea biomes. They should replace werewolves and climb up at islands at night to kill you.
Last you should add fish neta and crab traps so you can set them in the sea and the next they you could drag them up and get lots of fish/crab.

I’m extremely excited for the next update and I hope it comes out this weekend :D But I do realize that it might take extra time.
Personally I like the stamina idea. It sets the game really apart from Minecraft. Only thing is, in your hardcore type mode this could be way too risky. I mean, suddenly you drop to 50% speed while being chased by 2 wolves and a bull, you’ve effectively lost your world. If the stamina system comes into play, there should really be some high-cost instant stamina restore item. Like maybe some adrenaline shot with a needle made of diamonds XD something though, or it’s really going to prevent from ever trying the game on the hardest difficulty when the system comes out.
Now, this all looks amazing! But I’m writing this for a different reason; Survivalcraft honestly needs some sort of electric item that acts like a piston from (probably the cursed word around here) Minecraft. This one little mechanic would add so many new possibilities. If you agree, and wanna help me bring this issue up, just write

I made a massive Ferris wheel on a pier, I made the led lights rotate around it so it sort of looks like it’s moving this gave me the idea of a rotating motor… A new concept for the game, this could be used in place of pistons, also the idea for a drill could have a rotating motor in the recipe.

Kaalus, I had some ideas for you. PLEAE READ!
Motors- (for cars or boats) (can be made from a lot of electrical things and wires and some iron)
Cars- (can be made from a lot of iron or copper and use glass for windshield and trapdoor for car door and truck can be a chest. Can also take the place of a horse)
Longer Caves- (make them longer and more adventuresome and put minerals everywhere.
Bugs- my house randomly catches fire and my horse has disappeared in the stable.
The horses are dying and lightning is striking your house even if you are in a desert.
Kaalus don’t pay attention to these fools, you add what you want and can, and those haters of stamina and sleep and hunger, get out of here and play Mcpe, because this is kaalus’game, not ya’s game, im disappointed in all of you.ima big fan of everything kaalus adds to survivalcraft.

Come on people! You don’t like the stamina just because the game will be harder?! Omg people then just go play on the easy creative mode if its so hard for you! If people keep downing this I fear I will never get to see this feature….. This is a awesome feature I don’t care if it makes it harder I like that. A challenge you will just need to be more careful, you get tired well make sure you have spare ladders go climb the nearest tree, go and sleep on leaves is that so hard? Please don’t ruin this feature. People just wan games easy and simple with no challenge whatsoever and its sad, if you don’t want a challenge then just go to peaceful mode wala problem solved. Then you can have everything handed to you.

Oh thank you THEWINNINGLOSER you are right theirs to many people downing stamina and sleep and hunger. If they think its so bad they can just play on the easy peaceful mode where nothing happens. They need to stop, there going to ruin it for people who want these features!! Yea I know everybody just wants a easy peasy game where updates only include items and cosmetic stuff and stuff gets handed to you. That’s all and good but some of us also want game-play features like stamina and sleep and hunger in this survival game. This is supposed to be a realistic survival right? Then in real life when you go into the wilderness, you must take your time, search for food and items, be wary of bears and other wildlife that may harm you. You need to stop and rest when you get tired from climbing and walking. You need to get some water to stop dehydration and stay in the shade to avoid overheating. You need to eat some food to prevent starving or passing out and eventually you need to go to sleep. That’s realistic survival and these features are what this game needs!! Like I said i will keep posting my point just to keep it alive. We need stamina and sleep and hunger. Thirst and temperature would be a neat factor but seeing how people are I doubt it would happen. If people want to complain fine let them that’s just how people are. He already stated it would not be in harmless mode if it went through. So just play in harmless and your problems are settled.

I love this game Kaalus so keep it up but pls add plant seeds for farming and make new item nest so you can put birds in it to lay eggs for food and put a feeding system like you need to feed the birds in order to let them lay many eggs.
And one more thing the lightning makes me angry because it burns down my house made up of flammable stuffs so can you add devices like lightnin rod,lightning arrestor.
I agree with this, when you get struck by lightning on your travels, it’s fine because you either find water and douse the flames or you die. But if you are out collecting ingredients for a project then arrive back at base to find all your hard work burning… Well that sucks.

Hey kaalus i ask of u to fix a problem where the player can be able to get on a horse through walls if u don’t know what I’m talking about make a room and put a horse in there. Then go outside and check the sneak button but make sure you are close to the wall

Om have u ever thought of it we r not coping mine craft by adding portals ,armor , or mods because thats on computer mine craft not mobile device mine craft because r game is on mobile device not computer so I’m not saying 2 add the nether or the end we could add second dimension or a space portal and add armor that has different designs and portals that don’t look like mine craft portals and instead of bows we could add cross bows.

So what about armor and things like weapon enhancements or upgrades that can make what ever the weapon hits it sets it on fire or makes it jump far back like 10 blocks away and causes the same amount of damage but adds damage because of how far it went.

just had an idea for a neat item that could be added. handglider for quick traveling. you would have to craft it from sticks and leather or grass i suppose. you would have to equip it and jump off a mountain. all you would be able to do is steer it until you got to the ground. the taller the mountain the farther you could glide. if you glided in stormy weather the risk of lightening would be greater. it would be original and realisticish and really good for adventure maps or exploring/looking for a place to set up camp. you could even build your own jump tower at your home with different hight pads for different distances.

Please add campfires kaalus,made by placing sticks in a X pattern,and maybe stones that are crafted by placing 2 stone chunks in any pattern,it can make sparks that MAY light campfires on fire,and maybe other stuffs,useful if players dont have torch to survive the first night,and branches(oak,birch,spruce) that can be used in a furnace
or thrown to a campfire to increase the burning time by real time 10 secs(campfires burn for 60 secs),and the effect will stack.Branches will make the game WAY more realistic,and if you want,banana trees eith
