Comments and emails tell me that stamina is a hugely controversial feature.
Apparently the first issue is the panting sound, which was annoying. I have now replaced it with a better and quieter version. I also made it sound more natural by introducing more random frequency and volume fluctuations. It should not sound like a train any more. Hopefully you’ll like it better.
Second, the entire stamina system came under heavy attack. Some even claimed that it brings nothing to the game. That’s not true. At the very least it will force you to build stairs and ladders down your shafts and up your towers, and to get a horse for longer travels. It will also make it more risky to mess with fast, dangerous animals. And you will no longer be able to swim for miles :-)
Anyway, in an attempt to make everyone happier I increased the amount of running and the number of jumps you have to take to get exhausted.
Please keep in mind that the last video focused on the exhaustion. I have specially chosen situations where the player is winded and cut the other parts, to keep the video shorter and less boring. In real gameplay it’s not so easy to get panting as the video might suggest. Especially with the changes I now made.
I think the final test will come when I release it for Google Play. If there is a massive backlash, there will still be time to revise it in a quick update before submitting to Windows, Amazon and Apple.
Leaving the stamina aside, here’s a debug screenshot from the new mechanic I am working on. It will make the animals more clever (and dangerous), giving a boost to the neglected survival aspect from another direction. I’m sure you’ll guess what it is :-)

What about flaming spears? You could make it by crafting a spear but use a piece of coal as the spear point and place a match to left of it. When you throw it, it catches fire and what ever it hits that catches fire. But the spear is not reusable. What do you think?

I’m kinda sick of people complaining. This is possibly the greatest feature to be added. It’s called Survivalcraft for a reason. All this hard work and an amazingly more realistic game. And they say it’s “too hard”. Seriously? There are so many people that would complain about the feature requests if they were even slightly unrealistic. My feature stayed with theme and everything, yet I faced constant opposition. There were people that supported it. It would add so much to the game and wasn’t even too unreasonable.

To be fair, many of the voices raising objections to the tiring mechanic haven’t been worried about the game becoming harder but rather frustrating because of the stop-start nature this may add to their gameplay experience.

It seems that the biggest audiance for this game are kids and dont want it too difficult. I really like the idea because I find it far far too easy. The most common way i die in the game is falling into holes. There seems to be no other real threat.

I do like the mining and crafting aspect, with some realistic survival.
Nowhere on earth are you actually in danger of being killed the instant you walk away from your tent. That level of danger is pretty exaggerated. This game is not far from that right now. I like it right now, it is perfect. I would not make it even more dangerous.
But I do like the enhanced AI of the creatures, that is great. And some stamina is a good idea too, but please don’t make it overly limiting. I can run for about a half mile before I am too winded to run at full speed. I can also swim well over a mile.

No, it’s a magnet that you put next to your house. And the compass always points toward it. It does not move to your spawn point.
What about a rank system, meaning to start with you’re really unfit, but the more times you get exhausted the longer you can run the next time? That would be great. It could also work the other way, making you fat/unhealthy if you don’t exercise :-)

he’s showing the path he programed the animals to go you know how before you wack a wolf and hide behind a wall and the wolf would keep beating the wall well now he programed them to go through, around, over, and under obstacles so it will go around the wall kaalus was showing you the path an animal would take to kill if its a dangerous animal that is though let me know if you think I got it right

one thing that i consider of extreme urgency to add with the implementation of the new survival features is a horse bag to trasport valuables in long journeys, think about this situation:
– you find a great area to gather resources
– you fill 2~5 chests with the resources found
– you need to transport to your principal home…
-…but you only have your own inventory to carry all your thing plus the resources
– you will need a lot of travels only to transport resources, if you could add a horsebag with the capacity of 2 chests ( one per side of the horse like a “double bag” ) the number of travels needed will diminute drastically
please considere creating a horse bag or a cart.
It will slow the hrse down then die..

I love the idea of stamina but can you please clarify it a little more. Does the horse that u r riding have a limit? If so what would happen to it. Also if u stop swimming will you regain stamina even if u aren’t on land? As for climbing mountains i have a good idea. How about you can make a rope and harness where you can throw the rope up(maybe 10 or 20 blocks) and that allows you to jump 2 or three blocks where it only counts as 1 stamina wise. It should also require you to swing the rope around a few times in order to throw it so u can’t just use it as a way to escape predators

If you’re finding too much controversy in the stamina system, you could compromise. When you’re on a normal run (not being chased by anything) allow for greater distances traveled before wearing down. When being chased, give a quick boost of speed (high heart rate, adrenalin) then wear down quicker (because of the high heart rate).

Ok to all those saying this is a clone of minecraft its not! Jesh just because its a block game doesn’t mean it’s the same. I played all of them Eden world, block world, blockheads, and Minecraft PE. They all have there differences and uniqueness that makes them stand on there own. Survival Craft goes beyond all those, it’s more realistic and I mean being chased by a angry boar or other wild animals, is to me far better then be chased by mythical and fantasy creatures. This game doesn’t copy any game, sure it has blocks but I mean come on there’s many of them out there with that feature, and i’m pretty sure they get dissed to, which is very sad if you dont play the game go away! Don’t post bad comments trying to push a rally by telling people to say something if you dont like the game, thats very rude! You don’t like it tough keep your negativity to yourself! Alot of us like and enjoy this game! It’s a realistic survival game that has so many great features that make it stand out from the others.This game is a gem and I”m glad I bought it! No freaking stamina!! I mean I’m not gonna build stairs in every single hills and mountains in visiting!!! We’re here to mainly CRAFT and there is already a nice balance of survival and crafting un challenging mode, not get another thing that would f**k your game. Its not gonna be fun anymore, and I PAID TO GET SOME FUN! So if you want to put that stamina, do it as optional! Seriously soon we won’t be able to craft more than 2 minutes, we won’t be able to craft at night, and what next? Kaalus your seriously taking a wrong way making it an obligation! I wouldn’t mind if your game was free, but I spent money to get it and support it. I kno kaalus is trying to make the game more realistic but I’m confused why u added werewolfs???? I prefer to have fun rather than have a game fully based on realistic stuff like stamina. It would be nice to have stronger weather with hail that could bang against the glass. Also it would be cool to have a tin roof so I can listen to rain. Also like a swamp with alligators and green snakes. Also farming and u could dig the crop up with a shovel instead of a hoe in minecraft. Tammable coyotes and wolves with like bacon or a type of meat. I like stamina as well, people who don’t like it can just deal with it if they don’t like realism. I would like wheat or corn and lettuce. Also for food and hunger we would need water to survive and a crop instead of being so carnivorous. It would be nice to have more birds like red birds or dove and turky. Also seatable chairs with tables and different furniture like bed lamps and stuff. Thanks for all the effort
I think that is a great Idea and I also think it will be cool to add turkey and have them roost in a tree at night and eat on the groung at day we need some upland game birds

Saying a game is a clone because of a very successful idea is wrong because if this is a clone of Minecraft then any medieval open world game with sword fighting in it is a clone of let’s say Morrowind. The game has melee weapons toucan go where you want and fight who you want. Oh no now games all over the world posted today are clones. Sorry about the anger problem but I am sick and tired of people calling this game junk because it copies minecraft’s successful sandbox style with building.

Ok I am getting annoyed, I want stamina please don’t remove the idea! I like and enjoy of a challenge, come on so what you have to stop and rest, In real life you have to! rest and sleep i know people want a simple easy peasy game, where everything is handed to you on a silver platter. Survival is challenging and is about hunting real animals for food to eat and sustain your hunger. Going as far as you can then stopping and resting, and needing to sleep to give you energy for the next day’s adventure! Even needing to find water and satisfying your thirst would be neat. Building a shelter is also a survival tactic.Keeping safe during bad storms, like thunderstorms or maybe a far off feature of tornadoes and hurricanes. Its supposed to be a realistic survival game and that’s what it should be, it will stand out from the crowd if it stays with this flow, no fantasy or mythical monsters, keep it realistic please. It looks like people are probably going to ruin the stamina and exhaustion feature and ill never get to enjoy this if it gets excluded.. stop if you don’t like this game then go get something else! Don’t ruin it for those who want these realistic features!

What about werewolfs tho :( they are unrealistic. Why no mythical creatures??? What would be cool is a portal to mars with aliens, instead of nether. This is a survival game but it needs a balance of epic fun features and survival tactics. Right now, stamina is something we don’t need.

Stamina isn’t important? It is. This is a very big milestone for Survival Craft, adding more challenges to the game, we do need it. Why do people not get that you can’t just press a button and java multiplayer,or delete a whole feature that someone likes and many people like.
My point is, multiplayer is harder than it might seem.
You have to set up worlds and networks and so many other stuff.
You shouldn’t tell Kaalus what he should and shouldn’t add, its HIS game. If he thinks the game needs it, he WILL add it. Yes, I give suggestions to, bu I didn’t tell him to erase a whole new feature that he just started. Come on people. :/
Im not saying he shouldn’t add stamina. I like the idea but I def think there are more features out there that more ppl would like to see instead.

would be nice to find sometimes random generated chest with random items in caves :)
also please add falling star/stars in the night (graphics effect)
kaalus can you make it that if you change texture pack it also changes animals look.
I think you should add a sea update. Firdt you should add a sea biome with islands spawning rare. This biome should be BIG because i dont think its quite right to have a sea biome at the size of other biomes. Secound you can add a ship.( I know your adding boats but a ship is cooler at the sea)
Third add fishing rods so you can fish.
You should add crabs at beaches.
You should add chutulus that are only in sea biomes. They should replace werewolves and climb up at islands at night to kill you.
Last you should add fish nets and crab traps so you can set them in the sea and the next they you could drag them up and get lots of fish/crab.

How do you make a skyblocks world.
Do you mean getting a seed with skyblocks or making it on your own?
For the first option go see on the forum and you will find some cool seed.
For the 2nd you have to make a single block tower then remove all the blocks except the highest one and then start your world from there. Hope its clear and it helps you!

What do you think about flaming spears? You can craft them like a normal spear but use a piece of coal for the spear point and a match to left of the coal chunk. When you throw it, it catches fire and lights what it hits on fire. What do you think?

I have e an idea. How about dragons. They can be dangerous, but tameable, then onece tamed, you can ride tuem! Soar the skies with a dragon! That sounds awsome to me, what do you think?
Yes yes yes, i also suggested this. You could maybe collect materials to create something to summon them like a horn whistle. There could maybe also be more than one type of dragon so everyone is happy.

Ok I am going to keep making my point clear since people keep downing the idea and sadly my post just gets lost in the crowd so I will keep posting to save the idea! Stamina and exhaustion are a must!! They are a survival skill in real life so why not in a survival game? Werewolves sure there not true creatures, but they look like wolves they don’t look like creepers and zombies etc. So in a way there more realistic then others. realistic survival is what I want, with stronger weather and more dangerous realistic animals.

Sorry for the off topic reply, just wanted to be nice. Now I would like to here from those who don’t seem to like the idea of having stamina and exhaustion included in the next games update. Is it because it would make the game more challenging, or maybe less fun? Whatever it is just reply with your response, maybe peoples reasons may help out the developer make the stamina idea better for everyone to like and enjoy it. So please post your responses it may become helpful you never know!
Kaalus, new features are fantastic! People often forget that this is not a Minecraft, and that for this game accent is on survival in nature… If this game is not so unique it wouldn’t be so popular! :D

I think I have an idea:
Maybe you could make the player sick? Maybe it could be caused of bad weather or too much work.
Predators usually do some kind of jump before attacking, maybe you could add that animation?
Could you make the wolves also hunt cows? It would make the game more realistic.
Maybe you could make the magnet need to be powered to function?
What if we make compass before make magnet? Where should it points to?
What about a wider crafting (4×4 or 5×5 squares)? It should be helpful if you want to add vehicles.
What about new equipments? Like hammer (needed to craft things out of metals in anvil, metals needed to be heated in the furnace before), metal detector (need magnet to make, used to find metal properties in a radius, would be perfect to find a good mining site.), bottle (like pail, but only to store water and milk)
Could you add coconut trees? It will grow at beach and produce coconut, could be eaten.
Other than hunger, could you also add thirst? It will make the survival aspect more challenging
Aren’t foods rot? You need to keep them in such places (like refrigerator) to keep them fresh.
I feel strange… Why a bucket of water could make such waterfall? Could you fix it please? (you’ll be able to use water blocks instead of water bucket to make water bodies in creative mode)
Don’t you think adding chemistry would be amazing? We could use different potion for different effect (healing, flying for some time, higher jump for some time, bonus damage for first several strike, acid potion as a weapon, etc)
Could we make spy camera? It will need to be connected to a source of power. Would be useful in multiplayer games, I guess…

Wow Charlie that is a list!! I like most of them for the game, if the developer could put those in it be cool. though the portals and dragons seem unrealistic, though its a good idea. I really hope the developer goes toward realistic survival not trying to be mean, it would definitely make the game stand out from others, if it stays with the realistic survival theme. Though that’s only my opinion the developer has his own plans with what he wants. I love the snorkel idea would of never thought that, snorkeling could be a great survival item you could go under water and find clams and different things to eat and like you said also ride dolphins. I like all the realistic animals on your list especially dogs. Though what about cats why are the cats always forgotten lol. They could be used some how…. You have neat idea’s Charlie!!

Hi everyone its me Allie And I found a cool way how to survive on challenging mode, First , Run a long way but dont Loose ANY hearts. craft sticks from wood. Then use the sticks to craft ladders, and a wooden trap door. get alot of blocks of ANY kind. put the ladders up a tree you can break the leaves to make it more roomy. use the extra blocks to fill the holes. it should be dark by now so go to sleep on the leaves. Oh, and put the trapdoor on the hole to get out.

Dogs any kind like Labradors or German shepards to follow and defend you and collars so when you use a whistle it will come like horses with saddles.
Fishing rods to go fishing on a boat or on shore and catch fish easily.
Ropes/ lasso be like a cowboy and round up cows.

Jellyfish calm until you hit it
