First of all, what’s happening on Apple front.
The iOS launch has been extremely successful. It has beaten my wildest expectations. Right now, we are #5 fastest selling application in the US. That’s almost right behind Minecraft, which is #3. In some smaller countries (and Japan) we actually went ahead of it. The reviews are very good, and we are at 4.5 stars in most places.
Todays AppStore on my iPad. What can I say, thank you to everyone for great support!
To be honest, I don’t think I deserve all that glory. The game is missing so many things yet. And I definitely don’t think we should leapfrog Minecraft, even if it’s just the PE version and only in Japan. Survivalcraft would not exist without Minecraft, and I have been standing on the shoulders of the bearded giant from Sweden from day one.
I think one of the reasons we went so high in AppStore is that the game quality is higher on iOS than on Android. It runs smoother. It does not have problems with some devices. It does not have problems with custom ROMs and $59.99 Chinese tablets. This definitely counts. It’s a bit like Windows Phone, but with 100x more customers out there.
Anyway, back to business. I get a lot of feedback that the split touch option is not how it should be. I think this is #1 complaint on iOS, and Android/WP7 people are saying the same. I never used it much on Minecraft PE, that’s why.
Can you please tell me what I should modify to make it correct? Actually, I have a small prize for the person that correctly describes what needs to be changed in the most succinct and clearest way. Every where u should touch it should be breaking blocks in the middle of the corsair, not only the pad. And the corsair is too small
Nate is exactly correct, The look is locked while you are mining blocks which prevents you from being able to move fluidly and transition from block to block while you mine.It grants a better feel of control for the player.

You know, I don’t use split touch controls either but some controls that I really think could be fixed are the flying controls. When building all we really want is to be able to go up or down or sideways without having to look that way. Like strafing controls.

Split touch is essentially like using a mouse on a touchscreen…wherever the crosshair is on the screen is where the block is placed no matter where you tap on the screen
not for me, i use the kindle though. I think the split touch should let you look while destroying things, so when you hold down on the look pad you start destroying and thanif you slide around it looks around and continues to destroy.

So you want to have an owl neck? Remember- realistic. When your digging up a pile of dirt, you can’t turn around to see what’s behind you. Being able to turn while destroying is unrealistic and biologically impossible.

I’m not sure if I count it as an issue, but split touch combines both the regular controls of touching where you want to dig/build in combination of using the look pad to dig/build when tapped. If only the latter should have been used then that may be the bug, otherwise I can’t find what is wrong, unless it is on a specific game mode.

Hi. All the space of the screen exept the move pad/buttons should work as look pad. It should work this way: when you tap screen anywhere on it the action should happen under the crosshair not on the place where you taping. Right now the game is very dificult for people with big fingers becouse wery often you’re action is on the block you didn’t wanted to. Keep working.

I think it works well, but in mcpe (not used for a while!) I believe the left-hand side touch pad takes up the whole left side of the screen. Can you not download the free version of it and try using it?

The gamepad is on the left, and with your thumb, you can move the view around. For selecting a block, there is a crosshair in the middle of the screen. (Basically the same set up as MCPE, worked really well for me!)
That’s great news for you. I do think you deserve it. Learning to ride the horses here reminds me of when I first tried on a real horse. Lol. Never thought I’d rather ride a camel. The real ones pace – left legs – right legs, so you get seasick.

The only compaint I have about the split touch is that it is very time consuming. The way I think you can improve this would be if you made it so that you tap the thing you want to split to select it then tap the space you want one of that object go into. To split the object in half you have to hold down on it like you do at the moment then tap the square you want half the object in. Also can you make it 5 or 6 squares instead of 4 on the main inventory? Not related to the subject but can you also add something to sharpen your weapons so they last a bit longer but after so many times of sharpening they break?

The jumping system. It difficult to Jump on the buttons (D-pad) unless ur on the pad option where u can jump when tapping the bottom right side.

With Split-Touch controls the movement controls should be limited to the button schematic. Having the movement controls set to the pad with split touch doesn’t really work out. Also you should be able to continously place or mine blocks without having to lift your finger and tap again. This way if you are mining a 2×2 Chamber you can just move your “look” up and down and hold your finger on the right side screen. The character should not be able to interact with anything unless the crosshairs are pointed on that object.
That sounds cool. I usually look down on the block and break the second one after the first block is broken. I think the jumping controls while in split touch could be improved because parkour is nearly impossible.

Anyway, down to business, if you have ever played Minecraft Pocket Edition; if you have it, switch to split touch controls. Those are extremely well done. Yours should be changed so that #1 You can drag all over the screen, and hold down anywhere to break/place blocks, and #2 Allow someone to be able to move around, drag the split touch reticle over a block, and dig it at the same time. Here is the goal… When it comes to finger movement, less movement > more movement. I should not have to tap a tool to pick it to dig and then tap a block to pick it to place. Put place able items in the left hand and tools in the right hand so I can dig and place blocks at the same time without the need to switch between tools and blocks. Just like split touch holding down would either use the tool or place a block based on whether you used the left or right side. To jump would work the same way it does now but would be move to the right side so you can move while you are jumping.
Walking works flawlessly but looking around has some problems that need to be fixed. Basically looking to the left and up is OK but when I want to look right I have to slide, lift, reposition, slide, lift, reposition, slide with my thumb to be able to spin right. There should be an edge detect that keeps your character spinning right as long as you have slid your thumb right and hold it on the edge to allow the character to keep spinning right.
Auto jumping is phenomenal, every block building game should have that option, but trying to get the position to move and jump in certain situations is difficult. Simply creating a double-tap double-jump would help with this problem tremendously.
Only as in MCPE, in it better, Kaalus, please, make it. Also, need G-sensor move control. :{]

I think you should be able to run while in the body menu so you can eat while running from dangerous creatures
Also I think you should make it easier to turn to the left so your finger doesn’t go off the screen. If you are on the edge of the screen it should automatically turn
Sorry I forgot you were talking about the split touch mode. I know what the problem is. Whenever I am digging it doesn’t let me turn. For example: if I am cutting a tree from the bottom up, i have to release the look button then scroll up and press it again. I should be able to just hold it down and scroll around, breaking blocks
I hope these were good comments but I’m sure if u experiment some u will know what I’m talking about. I don’t normally use split touch anyway so I’m sure other people have had more problems along the way but I think mine is the biggest since I noticed it right away
Also, you can’t jump while in split touch mode.
Just turn off the white circle when we are digging and make the blocks have cracks in them. also turn off the look GUI.
I don’t mind the white circle as much as I don’t like not being able to jump and run at the same time.
If you arent using split touch then you can tap the look pad and you can jump while running. Hope that helped

Split touch has the crosshair, and when you tap/hold the screen in one position, the block the crosshair is resting on gets destroyed/mined. The split touch on SC, in case you didn’t know, uses the look pad as the place on-screen that you tap or hold to place or mine blocks. A LOT of people don’t know this. I learnt it from the Dave guy, can’t remember his name. One of his YouTube videos. On minecraft pe, the right hand side of the screen acts as the look pad, the left side is unresponsive apart from mining or placing blocks. I am no good with crosshair. I know how to use it, but I’m not really used to it.

okay, what i think you should do is change the controls to split touch controls, make them almost transparent like minecraft pe so it wont take so much space in the player’s screen. and for flying try to do something lthat you click the middle button you keep pressing the button and then you drag your finger up or down depending on where you wanna go(like minecraft pe). and the look controls make them on the screen so we can look from side to side, up and down more easily and faster just by sliding with our finger. oh and for jumping you could do a little button in the bottom right part of the screen but i think it wouldnt look so good so change it to invisible and when players click the bottom right of the page our hero will jump. but i’m not really sure about the last part because i havent really played your game before but i’m really hoping i can play soon(;

Leave as is, except one thing. Make jump a double tap on the look pad instead of center button on move. As it stands you have to stop moving to jump. Thats the only problem i find, otherwise ideal. Im using a Samsung Note 10.1.

The problem is that when you are on split touce mode you can tap the screen for placing ,and destroying blocks. You need to make it to were only the + can be yoused to place or destroy blocks. Also you can’t jump on horse in split touch mode. Also you can’t jump while moving. Thats all I know. :-)

The only problem I have with the split touch control, and what I think people mean, is that when you tap the look pad to jump, you end up placing a block. I am using a kindle fire, not OS.

At the first time it’s so confuse, i hit the tree many times trying to go to left/right using look button… But after some time it’s ok.
I know this is sorta unreasonable but u kno what would be extremely cool. If u could make and in game display recorder so people could record their gameplay. on YouTube there are quite a few minecraft pe channels and survival craft as almost non. This would incourage people to post videos of gameplay and expand the survival craft community. Plus if people wanna look up the game it’s a good way of advertising. Most ppl probably just think it’s a minecraft rip off if they haven’t seen gameplay

Kaalus for 1.22 please add dogs, motors, (for boats) clocks, islands, maps, and multiplayer. I have put 1.21.6 to test and have found NO bugs. Great job on that part. On iOS version when you creat a world it has NO option of creating a flat world with no mountains for maximum creativity. Is there any way you can add that feature on challenging, cruel, creative, and harmless? I just all the time get lost in a world with all the mountains. If you could add that feature, that would be awesome! Thx Kaalus!

Actually,there is a bug where if you destroy a block with a saddle,the saddle disappears.
The only thing that I can tell in the differences is that in MCPE, the sensitivity for look direction is higher than stock in SC. Also, MCPE has an odd button combo that has the directions, and jump in the middle. The only way I can imagine that would ‘fix’ this isto switch the middle button on the buttons for action/dig, and tapping the pad to jump. That is what my hands keep trying to do, anyway.
i think that you should fix where the sleep is and recilapeda. it take forever to get to them. and if your in crative mode you could go into menu and change it into advencher or harmless.cuss it would just be easer. like when some leaves it on creative and you need t change it. cuse you need to go to main menu and then single player and clickm on it then prees modify and change it. so do u see how that would make it esyer. an just in creativ not in advencher or pepo; could cheat on maps. like u just have restart advencher in advencher. sooooooooooo u see. and like boat idea

I think the split touch is a great idea but iI think you should add a other world to the game like ex/ minecraft aether or nether with all the cool mobs in the nether or end. I think you should also have a mob that can shoot spears like a cave man. You should also add maybe something like a squirrel or more small land animals and also maybe add a lion for the desert. I think you should add randomly generated villages with a towns folk people living and with that add a custom map for flat worlds. Since you already have the snow and pumpkin I think it would be a good idea to add a mob like the snow golum. I think it would be cool also to add a biom that is for the poker bears that has huge glaciers of thick ice over a ocean. Logan

We need to be able to rotate the screen whilst mining, not just in split touch, also when in split touch I don’t think we need to have the look pad, and when you press and hold with a spear, it shoot directly forward from the cross hair. And the circle isn’t really need in split touch because you can see what your mining as your thumb isn’t in the way.
Personally I think the controls need a whole re-work, there the only thing letting the game down

1. Crosshair is tiny
2. Imagine it like minecraft pc wherever u aim the crosshair and add a block the block goes to where the crosshair was aimed.as for survival craft if i aim the cross hair at a block 2 blocks away from my crafting table, and i try to break the block by tapping on my crafting table it is opening my crafting table. It should be breaking the block 2 blocks away from where my crafting table is(where my crosshair is aimed at). So the thing is the whole split touch idea in survival craft is just like normal controls. When it should be split touch. In summary. The block should break where the crosshair is aimed no matter where you place your finger on the screen. Hope i get that code and described it correctly my friend wants this game badly but his dad wont let him buy it. Btw thanks kaalus for IOS version its AMAZING!!!!

You should make a account log-in for the game so people who already bought it on android dont have to buy it again on apple. I really want the game on my iphone but I do t want to spend four dollars again to have it on my android and iphone.

How would you get it installed? There is no way to download from the Apple app store unless you buy it. You do realize that Apple is taking a whopping 30% cut just for allowing any developer to sell their software from the App store.

Stupid horse crushed me in tree. I was like 2 miles away.
This happens to me all the time, the last time i was with more than 50 diamonds, i was under a tree and with no intention i put my finger in look button… Other day i was leaving the barn and my horse jumped without i press anything, i hit the block that is up the door… When you hit a branch or a block we should receive less demage. When i fall from the roof of my house i never die, why die only because hitting a branche????????!?!?

Would you be able have a joystick(analogue on ps3/xbox) type of touch on the left hand side so you could move in any direction… And the joystick moves if we take our finger off and put it in another place on the left hand side… And for the rhs leave it because its really good the way it is…………it would be great to try it out as a mini update to get peoples thoughts on it… :-)
Create a joystick in a certain place on the left side (Just for the joystick) (onscreen joystick) then the rest of the screen can be used for breaking block, changing directions and jumping…give it a try :)

I found 3 bugs. The first is that my horses keep dying for no reason. (I am not riding them when this happens.) Second when you walk on top of a horses dead body it your footsteps sound like a horses. Third When you break a block or any thing else with a saddle the saddle disapears.
The Reason that the split touch controls aren’t workin igs because you have tomove the crosshair every time you break a block. so its really annoying.
if you implemented the feature where you could Kepler on moving the crosshair and break blocks at the same time, it would be fine
Maybe have a quick go on mcpe that would probably answer the problems that can’t be descibed. I also find fly mode very difficult to build with. The fact u have to look upwards and downwards to gain height and desend makes for very hard speed building. Basicaly all fly mode is good for at the moment is flying around like a bird admiring the scenery. I have sent u a email about this kaalus. Again maybe just refer to mcpe to see how the controls work on that. I love SC to be honest I am amazed every time I play it on my ipad it kicks ass, just need those controls sorted out and then I can start building so much faster. i have the same problem too i have 5 fish but it go trough the glass now my fish is just only one i called him sharky
I think you should add alternate worlds to make it better. Such as the nether like in minecraft, but make it better. Also, add things like crossbows and maybe a gun. Just some ideas to make it better.
Malays please add multiplayer or villagers that follow you and talk to you along with certain jobs that they will do for you please

Kaalus, I use the split controls and I find it hard to dig long line in one motion, I have to move block by block and that makes the job tedious and boring, I’m not sure that was the answer you were looking for but it’s the only one I can think of
People dont like the graphics and controls even though you can chang them they dont know yet. Also you need to put survivalcraft into beta and add multiplayer.

I just tried split touch first time. Honestly I didn’t see a big difference in it and the normal controls. I do agree that the flying in general is a little tricky while building. My problem is that if you are looking even slightly up or down and backing up while adding blocks you wind up having to stop and adjust your hight very frequently . If there was a button in fly mode that would automatically level the player/camera with the field that would help in building I think.
I do have a couple other suggestions though.
The “autojump” on horses could use a little tweaking. “About half the time when you get to a one block hight the horse will keep running against the block tryng to jump for several seconds before actually making it up. Kinda makes it hard to climb hills.
Also I think it would be cool if you had to break the horse before being able to saddle it. They already buck when not saddled. Maybe you would have to actually ride the horse down before he would accept a saddle. Just like a real horse. If he bucks you off and runs away before he’s saddle broke you have to chase him down and ride him some more.
Recipes for house items would be great.
Gates for fences would be very welcome. 2 block wide gates would be preferable.
This is probably impossible…but it would be nice if there was a button to “undo” the last block either added or destroyed. I am constantly acidently destroying or adding blocks where I didn’t mean to. (curse these big fingers of mine). Then I have to open the menu and take that block back out just to replace it.
I think guns are a bad idea for this game but a stick bow would fit nicely with the genre. Maybe you would have to build a quiver and fill it with arrows as you use them up. Maybe bulls could even drop horns to upgrade to a horn backed bow (which is a real thing) kinda like upgrading to diamond tools
A backpack slot would be neat. If you added the bow you could with have the backpack or the quiver in the slot. Not both (its gotta be challenging right?).
I think the hunger bar really should be added. At least in challenging mode. Right now I can go down in a mine and never leave it. In a survival game there should be some sense of danger. Hunger bar would force you to go out and face the possibility of danger in order to get food. It would also promote exploring.
Someone suggested being able to have 1 or 2 more items in the toolbar. I like the idea too.
These are just a few ideas I think would be neat additions. I know we cant have everything we want. lol. And seriously… the game is awesome already! I know absolutely nothing about programing but I do see a lot of requests though that even I know are unreasonable on a moblile platform or sometimes would mean just making a entirely different game. I hope mine aren’t too far out in left field. lol

Minecraft PE is a pretty good game, but a ‘wide open sandbox’ only 256 blocks square isn’t really a wide open sandbox. If the gigantic Survival Craft worlds are enough to push your sales past MCPE’s, then bully for you (and shame on them for not managing the same feature.)
I would like it as in minecraft with the little plus bar in the middle of the screen if that bar lets say lands on a piece of dirt and highlights it you can press any were on the screen and it will break that block. That is a lot easer to place or break blocks than having to press the block with your finger. But other than that it it a great game gggggoooooo!!!!!!!!! Survival Craft
I guess you all are talking about the iPad version because none of this is making any sense to me as I have the Windows Lumia 900 and I am able to have the cross hair and tap anywhere on the screen to break Most of the other complaints I have seen do not apply to the Windows Phone version.
I don’t have the game but my cousin does and I play it more then he does on his iPad I think the app is great but my only complaint is the d pad wish is was more like the minecraft pe or even like the call of duty zombies app

Survival craft is a wonder game it has great fetures that MCPE doesn’t offer it’s users. I think the dpad should be more user friendly as well as braking blocks and moving at the same time. I am personally a big fan of cool mods and fancy texture packs, that is one reason why I like survival craft over MCPE is because easy downloadable texturepacks, I think you should try out modding option for that game but I understand if there are reasons for leaving it out of the game. I would also like to see new weapons just to open up the world more and maybe even more animals. You guys have done a wonderful job on this game you should be vary proud looking forward to updates!
Hey! I have always been looking for free downloads for Survival Craft, but none of them seem to work. If you could send me this code it would be greatly appreciated . The problem I have with it is that I don’t get to move my cursor while I’m breaking blocks. I always have to pick up my finger and move my cursor again and again. If you could fix this the game would so much better for a lot of people! Thanks,

I have played survival crafts once before and all I have to say is that is absoutelt spectacular it beats out any other creative and survival game it’s graphics are just as good as the pc version of minecraft wich is pretty good the only thing that needs to be fixed is that I think there should be a tutorial at the begining of the game to show the player how to do everything other than that the game is wonderful and I hope you read this and decide to send me a promo code because I would love to play survival craft more:)
