New Rideable Animal

The riding mechanics is coming together nicely. I have come to a conclusion that it’s best when you don’t control the steed directly. Instead, you will only issue “commands” to speed up, slow down or turn. The beast may also get a different idea into its head sometimes, horses are not cars.

From the AI point of view, there is a special new behavior that is activated when you mount the horse, which makes it obey your commands. But, as all other behaviors, it can be overridden by another one when conditions are right. For example if something hits the horse, it will get scared, run away and ignore whatever you want him to do.

But here’s what you will like the most: I am working on one more new animal that you will be able to ride. Will let you know later what it is :-) It can’t gallop like a horse, but it looks really cool from the saddle.

Sadly, no pictures or videos today. I’m too tired. There’s some serious issue with Nexus 10. It is fairly unstable, and the game crashes in random places for no reason (as do other apps sometimes). I don’t think it’s my fault, it looks like hardware or system issue.
