Over the last few days I have been adding new creatures to Alpha 1.21. Here’s how some of them look:
Ocean will not be such a safe place any more starting with the next release. There will be more creatures coming as well.
I’ve also added more electrics (he he), but don’t want to tell you what they are yet, in case you think electricity is the only thing I am working on :-)
I’m going away for 3 days tomorrow, so don’t be alarmed if I don’t give a sign of life during this time, I’m not sure about my internet connection. But I’m taking the laptop with me, I’ll probably do some more work on 1.21 over there.

Horses and Horseback riding were added in Alpha 1.21, weapons that set things on fire were available since Alpha 1.25 which are Fire Arrows, Explosive Bolts, and Bombs, Incendiary kegs bombs and kegs were added in Alpha 2.0, clothing and armor were added in Alpha 1.26
Pretty cool but please do keep in mind that there should be some purpose towards these creatures in order to enhance the survival experience. Also some underwater creatures should spawn in lakes because i don’t spend much of my time in the ocean.
I hope one of those electrics is pistons :D

That’d be cool. Or, if not a rhino a large gorilla. Make some blocks that he couldn’t break so we could cage him.
Another thing that’d be fun is if electricity was a hazard. Like if you could hook some wires and a battery up to a fence and make it electric that would damage you if you touch it. Or could run some wires into water to make an electrified water trap.

It’d add to the survival aspect, causing you to take their destructive power into account when designing your buildings. Moats and spikes and traps and such.
An animal which destroys the scenery would be a sad change for me. I really enjoy the blocky natural beauty of the game. :-) Oh well. I’ll just switch to Harmless mode if such a beast is added. I won’t miss having to slaughter every bear I encounter.
The animal would not spawn often and only charge if it sees you like a creeper, minimizing damage to the environment.

Rhino or gorilla would be good. Would agree that they could only break certain blocks like soil, gravel, sand and glass( only on ground level) and wooden doors (not iron) would really make survival more interesting

This is great! Reading this today put a smile on my face. More “survival” updates is just what I’ve been waiting for. Hopefully more content like this will be added that challenges and immerses players.

If u want ur GAME better, try to make monsters or humans villagers then they sell ALOT of stuff but u have to pay from ingots and I know u will add armor this update but add better smooth hd gameplay cuz when I play it it seems laugh and rough, also try to add thieves and add a portal that when you go in, u go to a random demention and u can do quests from villagers like this, WANTED OGAR. and add ogars but their rare to find and they give u four diamonds, also try to add levels and exp like minecraft and add more weapons like bows and u can create a rifle ( classic ). Try to add pets too and villagers that lives in villages, also try to make the villagers look like u, don’t copy minecraft. And if u hit one of them in armors they have swords and defends themselves. Try to add animal babies. And add a thing like pistons. Plus when u survive the 567th day u meet the apocalypse of demons and other minions but they have a war with the villagers for two days and u too. And add rare animals. Also try to make vehicles like boats and cars but cars u will have to work hard on the car to make it and u can make a craft that u can glide on, try to make the vehicles unique. AND PLEASE NEXT NEXT UPDATE JUST FOCUS ON ADDING ONLINE MULTIPLAYER. well back to next update, and try to add more mobs like ogars and other unique creatures. Maybe for a creature idea bees can be placed into the game, where they spawn from a beehive block when too close. Honeycomb can be gained at the expense of danger, and the need can be avoided by hiding in water. Not a bad idea to try, and a unique one too, try so does anyone feel interested?

The new creature seems to be a shark but more like a fish. Will they spawn only in the ocean, or will they be found in other bodies of water. Makes their role more dangerous if they can make water sources not always safe.
BTW, what type of creature is it specifically, if you can tell us kaalus.

it’d be more fun if u have a hunger bar and u have to plant crops, there should be more animals like sheep’s and pigs and you can take wool out of the sheep. It makes it challenging and funner
Kaalus,in the last post you said the blocks will go from 16-32 bits,whats the difference?
I love new creatures,I wish there were sardines,tuna,and salmons.And raw+cooked fish,and fishing rods.And we can use the fish as bait(carrot on a stick) and ‘ride’ on a bear.
The difference will allow for more complex blocks.
Possible pros:
1) Logic gates on horizontal surfaces.
2) Electrics will be properly saved when you save the world.
3) Maybe some more complicated blocks.
4) Possibly a better lightning engine.
Cons:
1) World files are almost twice as large.
2) If not implemented properly, this might break existing worlds. But I wouldn’t worry about it, because I think kaalus will make sure that this doesn’t happen.

If I can give my opinion on the whole real vs unreal debate I would like to see the game kept on the real side. Some might think that it is boring, to have real creatures only. The reality is that real games can be fun. If kallus were to add say, multiple hit box’s to bulls, which would correspond to different parts of the body. (head hit box, torso hit box, and so on.) then he would add a rifle to the game.with those two simple additions you would turn survivalcraft into a hunting game.
That would be a simple way to make real, fun.

I get your argument, but the thing is that minecraft took the fantasy block genre, and survival craft can have the deals side of the block world genre.
The only compromise I can think of would be semi real mobs, and more creatures.
For example lochness, and the yeti as well as the already added were wolf. In order for this to work their would have to be a mystery thrown into the mix, with all the usual trappings.
In the case of werewolves you would have a town filled with villagers spawn. And on the full moon one in the town would turn and kill villagers. You could choose to take on the quest and figure out who is the monster and kill them. Get it right and you get a cool boss battle. If you win you get something. Get it wrong, and the villagers will run you outs town, with pitchforks and torch’s.

I just sleep through the nite because theres no reason to go out at nite worth the danger. Would be nice if there was some item or animal that can be gotten only in dark. Even if werewolf dropped a diamond that would be worth it and wouldnt require much programming.

I think lorenzo needs to get a reality check… Swear half of his suggestions have been rejected by kaalus already… This is a mobile device game, does it not occur to everyone that every feature has to be low on performance…. Even if each update slowed the game down by 5%, by the 5th update that would total 25% slowdown… This means that big features that people would “LOVE” to see can’t be put onto the game (and who cares, survivalcraft is great already)
As for armour, I think we might be getting that update soon what with all these extra animals coming into the game, we might need better protection (Just a thought) :)

Horses were added in Alpha 1.21. Unicorns and Pegasus will be VERY UNLIKELY to be added. This game is more on the realistic side than fantasy side.
I think kaalus should add these things: humans, deer, monkeys:D, snakes, horses to ride, cats, and foxes. He should also add more food in this update.

Examples of animals i would liike to see:

Well, since we are on the ocean topic, I think that better water physic are needed. If you have built underwater, you know that a weird current surrounds the building and displacing the water source blocks is beyond a pain. Mabey sponges that soak up water and water source blocks? Also, better visibility is needed underwater for building, and also to see those new mobs!

Also just to give my two cents on the matter, I’d say ATLEAST 90% of what lorenzo requested will never even be considered and isn’t even feasible. Kaalus you have the plan keep the plan, build the plan and keep it SURVIVALcraft.
Maybe Kaalus should be done cod optimization to go faster? And sometimes we can see through blocks, this bug is terrible.
does anybody know any texture pack that stone and other thing underground like dirt and stuff will be invisible so i know which seed has a big cave which also has lots of roots.

I wonder how we are supposed to explore the oceans to see sharks in challenging and cruel modes without drowning. Maybe we are getting some kind of armor/equipment also ;-) i would love to see a scuba tank to dive and explore the ocean :-) imagine all the new things we could find down there :-)
