Alpha 1.20.1 on Google Play

I have just uploaded Alpha 1.20.1.0 to Google Play. This is a quick fix update to 1.20.0.0.

The following things were corrected:

  • Fly/sneak buttons now work properly (you don’t have to stop to use them)
  • New world options (time of day, weather) still work when you switch to Adventure Mode
  • Thunder was made slightly less loud
  • With split touch controls enabled, you can move your finger inside of Look Panel without breaking the digging process
  • UI buttons are now on top of the inventory, not under
  • No more black terrain after task switch when custom texture pack is selected

All of these issues were discovered and reported by you.  Thanks!

So far 1.20 is on Google Play only, Amazon and Windows Phone owners please have a little patience. We have discovered and corrected many glitches over the last 2 days. Had I submitted directly to Microsoft & Amazon, I would have no way to fix them now and you would get a lower quality release. So it’s all good. It just takes a bit longer, due to certification requirements :-)

I’ll now wait to see whether 1.20.1 is not totally broken, and if not, I’ll submit for you as well.

I think trains would be pretty cool also with an added ability to interlock carts and ride them with friends around your world now that is original and epic. Maybe tour carts but you need a way to transport resources just as efficiently

I love how the users from the Google play market get to test the updates so quickly and sort out the bugs fast. it feels awesome knowing i get to help with this amazing game. This update is incedible. So many new features in such a short ammount of time. Mojang should fear kaalus. He makes minecraft pe look like a total joke and Im laughing my booty off at it :-P lol

I wouldn’t say that so soon, Mojang just updated PE on Jan 30 and it has some note worthy features, even some that where often requested here. Kaalus’s Survivalcraft still has its own great features like infinite world, electronics, community sharing and more. Either way survivalcraft and now PE are excellent games and both Kaalus and Mojang deserved their achievements and respects.

I have been experiencing a problem with recieving an error 500 message randomly when trying to access the community uploads. Sometimes i can access it and upload and download files just fine, other times i get the error 500 message. There are other users in the forums also experiencing this issue

Kaalus, have you noticed something odd about going up a flight of stairs at full speed (it doesn’t seem to happen at moderate speed)? Sometimes the animation seems to repeat itself, as if I’ve been warped back in time for a fraction of a second. Other times my position will be instantly shifted to the side by one block width.

I’ve noticed these anomalies in previous versions (including 1.19) but it seems to have gotten worse in 1.20. Or maybe it just seems worse because I’ve built my first “switch back” stairway (like a real-life staircase rather than a single continuous stairway all the way down to bedrock). What will often happen is I’ll be charging up a flight of stairs and then I’ll be shifted instantly to the adjacent stairs going down so I’ll end up going down rather than up. And then it gets really confusing if I then back up at full speed only to be shifted again to the adjacent stairway and end up going down yet another flight of stairs. So I’ll be two floors down rather than two floors up.

The work-around is to go up stairs at a moderate speed.

I’m running this on a Nexus 7. Not rooted, not ROMed. 100% stock.

Oh, and I’ve locked the frame rate to 30 fps (did that as soon as I got 1.20). Could frame rate have something to do with this? Could that be why it seems worse in 1.20? I have no clue how the engine works so that’s just a wild, uneducated guess.

It’s a known minor issue to do with climbing small heights. When you move quickly forward, the engine does not have enough time to move you up the ledge and you get stuck for a single frame. I may increase climbing speed in the future to combat that.

Oh, OK. I didn’t realize it was a known issue. Sorry for the verbosity. :)

I’m making a platform game, and i’m feel sad of me because you are putting difficult coding in this game and you are great doing it.
You are awesome. Keep it up ^^. Here you have a fan
