I noticed some of you are worried about me abandoning the WP7 version. You may have got this impression when I released several Android updates in the last month, but no Windows Phone ones.
You need not worry.
All the Android updates I released since 1.18 were bugfix updates only – no new features were added. The current version on Android is 1.18.5, the .5 suffix denotes it’s a 5th bugfix update. The core is still 1.18. No new stuff.
I had to release these updates to fix the pressing Android issues quickly. And also because I could. No certification delays on Android.
One thing that may resemble a new feature on Android is the ability to use swipe across entire screen for looking (released in 1.18.2). I did it because of Kindle Fire touch offset issues. Looking was very difficult on Kindles because of this offset, and I could not fix it properly at the time because I did not have the Kindle. Using entire screen for looking partially mitigated this issue. The offset was finally fixed in 1.18.5.
The next feature update will be 1.19. For all platforms. When it’s ready.
