Halloween is coming

I am busy doing two things: getting stuff done for 1.18, which will be the Halloween update, and improving stability of Android port.

Today I got my Samsung Galaxy S, and I managed to resolve most of the issues with it after updating it to Android 2.2 which is the minimum supported by the game. The game runs nicely on it, I expected it will be much slower. The phone was released back in June 2010, months before the first Windows Phones came out. But it’s quite fast. I think the PowerVR GPU driver is well optimized compared to other Android drivers.

Anyway, I hope the fixes I made will allow all the people with PowerVR devices to enjoy the game.

Here’s a photo of the 1.18 Halloween update running on my new Galaxy S:

Yes, you’re not mistaken. These are Jack O’Lanterns! They emit a small amount of light and have a particle system inside. There are also regular edible pumpkins growing in the world now, and you can craft a Jack O’Lantern from one of them and a torch.

Nice! I like these pumpkins a LOT more than those in “other block games.” Out of curiosity, is there ever the possibility that we may have a new dimension like the one added to other block games for their Halloween updates? :) Or would that be too unrealistic for the great kaalus? Again, nice job!

Pretty nice looking. I hope this leads to a farming system in Survivalcraft since its better than just finding and killing animals. Please add farming along with Electric currents :D

Looks great! :) Kaalus could you also give us back the two hearts? It’s nearly impossible to fight a bear with only 4…

The amount of health is the same in 1.17 as it was earlier. It’s just the display that changed. I may actually make animals deal less damage in 1.18 because a lot of people complain that they are too hard to kill.

Will this be the update that the spooky creature comes out on?

Brilliant Kaalus . Can’t wait to see if any bears come knocking on my door (trick or treating), and have you finally decided how the new spooky creature is going (move)?

Im really appreciating all these new updates and features, but I have something to say. You should concentrate on adding new building materials or items and things of the such now, I feel as if you’ve done a lot of outside work now time to go back to the basics again. Maybe new doors or materials for tools or anything like that?
No disrespect, just a suggestion. I love this game kaalus
