Thunderstorms

I think I am finished with the weather for now. See here how a thunderstorm looks like:

http://youtu.be/nTBfu6uNBFY

Normally thunderstorms will not be as intense as this one. There will be less lightning strikes, the one I made a video of is at the top end of the scale.

In the meantime I am getting a Samsung Galaxy S to diagnose and fix the problem with PowerVR GPUs not working on Android. Hopefully it will be something stupid on my side that’s easy to fix.

Once this is done I will continue adding new features for 1.18.

Cool. Is it like real life where the sooner you hear thunder after you see lightning the closer it is?

Also. Could be a great way to super charge generators once you get around to circuits. Maybe you can make water wheels to slowly charge them.

I noticed in the video that the closer the lightning strike was the sooner you heard the thunder. So yes it is like real life.

Cool! About the electric circuits they should opperate the same way as minecraft so people don’t have to understand a completely new method. Pistons or some object that pushes and pulls blocks is a must as most redstone creations need these. I know this as a fact since i could barely make anything with redstone without pistons.

    Must Haves for electric circuits
-Something to carry the current (copper wire?) (limit?)
-Could use something to delay the current such as redstone repeaters so u don’t have to do it manually)
-Something to create a current such as a redstone torch (charged copper wire?)
-Something to activate a current (button, switch, pressure plate etc.)
-Needs to have an inverted function (when you send output to a redstone torch in minecraft the input will turn off)
    -ETC

Sorry if this sounds too much like minecraft itself but I think the best way to get more people to want the game and to get better reviews is to make it work just like minecraft so that people don’;t have to adjust to a completely new thing.

Oh yah currents should be able to pass through blocks but you should also make it so that at least one or more blocks cannot carry currents.

I don’t know how plausible this is but perhaps you could craft a radio that would play actual music . Would be cool, and unique

I have a plan for electric circuits already, even made some prototyping. It will not be like Minecraft. Notch has done most of the things extremely well and it’s hard to improve on them, but I don’t feel redstone belongs to that category.

comments less pertanent to the games ideas or sucsess or help of any kind to others are rude and considered offensive when attacking only. Your comment here has nothing to do with the game. (have you a comment relating to this new news?)My comments refer to the games movement on the google play site.

This is true if Bryan wants to say something about the game he is just as entitled as any one else is, know matter how many comments he uses.

Just a suggestion but you should add a weather toggle button on creative mode. Since your running out of room this would also be a good time to implement that tab idea korbak had.

I am surprised you took on Android before iOS considering the sort of volume and sales you see on the App Store. Then you would only have to worry about SGX and Adreno. Is it just because you didn’t want to buy a Mac to develop on or do you have some clever trick to target XNA and Android?

You should make it to where when water is cut off from its source it dicipates like if you make a box in the ocean the remaining space inside the box automatically drains

That would require a non-local water model. Phones are not powerful enough for that.

Really big props to all the work you’ve done. I’m a developer myself but I’m amazed by the devotion and work you’ve put in this game… nothing short but amazing!

That being said, is it possible to add some more challenging creatures (lions that hunt you maybe) or features (like hunger, cold, ect) ?
I’m more of a survivalist and at the moment the game is to easy.

Never the less, I look forward to every update you post!

A huge well done Kaalus you probably know you have gone from 360 too 120 in the listings on Top New Free Apps on Google Play, in a matter of 3 days.I think the next few days will push the game to the front pages huge success. Following some comments here I will reduce my own. And appologise to those who feel i follow this site to closely. And i will offer no rhetoric unless asked for. Appologies once more to those affected. My promise is to keep my comments lesser than others. Sorry All, and a huge well done Kaalus.

I guess we need someone giving honest positive response, i got sad Reading posts who demand better sulutions. Im just thankfull for how kaalus gives his heart to the game doing all he does. SC has been updated with new stuff more often than MC lately, wich i think is amazing! Keep up the good work, from us in norway! :-)
