Water & magma customization

I’m not sure if I mentioned that, but in 1.15 you can customize water and magma looks through the texture pack. This was previously impossible, because water/magma textures were taken from somewhere else.

I’ll post a screenshot of what you can do when I get some time. There is one limitation with water: the texture is grayscale and it’s colorized by the game (based on temperature/humidity), so you won’t be able to make pink water. Other than that you can do what you want.

In the meantime, 1.15 is still in certification.

I do not see any revelance/relationship between them. There are no zombies, Nazis, or firearms in Survivalcraft…

I’m going to explain my zombie post. Group 935 experimented with wonder weapons such as the wunderwaffledg75 and the ray gun, the teleporters we have on Der Reise (A.K.A the giant) all included element 115 which the side effects of it were becoming a zombie and the update now is 1.15 without the decimal would be 115 as in the element used to create these weapons and the zombies which was used by the nazis. I hope that cleared things up. =]

Kevin m and I both wanted npc’s (villagers) along with others. They would be hostile if you enter their territory of houses they live in and would use weapons to kill you unless you give then something such as food then they would be friendly. Fruit such as apples and berry bushes would be awesome too. Armor also. There is already a spot for it. Some fish that are in lakes and oceans are cool. You could add sharks as another hostile creature if u decided to add it. I know a lot of people would like this to be like minecraft. Maybe a different mode so there is a realistic and unrealistic version that could have creatures like skeletons and creepers and zombies or whatever else. Sounds cool and I know a lot of people want a game just like minecraft on the windows marketplace.

I think survivalcraft should continue with it’s direction based on findng yourself placed on and island and being able to survive on your knowledge of say how to build a shelter etc. survivig on your own witts avoiding death from hungry animals etc, and making equipment to enable that. introduction of natural predators makes SC different to MC and i think it should continue that way. The game could copy all of MC but i would want it to stand alone and be different. I don’t disagree with the idea of have native inhabitents wanting to destroy you but i think they should be natural predators with the same vigor as some of those zombies or skeletons in MC

I guess what i’m saying is i like it more as the film cast away, then dawn of the dead. by the way i would have ripped all those parcels apart to find any thing like a water bottle, or something to make life easier stranded on an island

I always said if i was marooned on an island i within the first year would have a fridge freezer store of many sea food wine beer, safe home pref above sea level. farmed animals, inc chickens, eggs, veg plot, i think modernday man although acustomed to luxury, would get more than robinson crusoe ever did, we expect so much more

kaalus do you think at some time larger items could be crafted from say previous created items, so say a dynamo created from copper, copper strands, iron, then that product being combined on the table with wood sails and a steel sructure, all previously constucted using all nine squares then being crafted together on table producing a wind turbine. my question is more about large creations rather than my idea of wind generators.

Or would the texture pack reduce the ability to do that because it woud take say ten blocks of that. i’m not sure how that works

You know, you can post all of your ideas in the forums. Kaalus does read them.

Yeh I realise that the lamp and other things like traps and diamond edged tools but I’m talking something made of say 50-81 units

    • Posted August 24, 2012 at 16:00 | Permalink | Reply

Yep, I think this is a good idea. One example already present is wicker lamp (as noted by Sir Knight), another is diamond edge tools. But larger constructs could also be possible.

Glad you like the idea, and i’m sure you had already given that some thought previously.
And I think larger products could be combined with other items say a water wheel and a dynamo and wood buildng crafted into a water generator. a dynamo could double as a motor too, and so on. so getting the best use of crafted item that takes less programing. again the idea is about multi use of product rather than electrical generation.

if you did want magnets for dynamos you could strike iron to iron facing north, to face north you need the rising sun on your right or the the dying sun on your left. or put a steel block in front of you facing north then hit it repeatedly with an iron bar. maybe just to the point where it is about to fragment.
this idea is a real consept.

It would be nice to have some transportation like minecarts, boats or maby some horses to ride on. Also I think it’s a good idea to add multiplayer in the next update
