1.14 available in US marketplace

I can see it now. When you update, can you please confirm if the old worlds not loading bug is fixed?

Here’s the full changelist for 1.14:

  • Fixed 1.13 world loading bug
  • New text rendering engine. Sharper and faster.
  • Ladder dismount bug fixed
  • Grass appearing instead of harvested blocks fixed
  • Large number of birds when staying for a long time in a single place fixed
  • Fixed moon lighting
  • Added hygrometer

    How do we get rid of the BILLIONS of birds that spawned on 1.13?

    There are so many birds in my Egypt map that the game is running very, very slowly now.

      You’ll have to kill them off. I suggest matches in creative mode. Lots of fun. 1.14 should not spawn inordinate amounts of birds anymore.

        But… there are THOUSANDS of them, and they’re there due to a bug. I kinda expected the bug being “fixed” would also remove the extra birds.

        It’ll likely take me hundreds of hours to kill all of them, especially with the game lagging and pausing like crazy due to the sheer number of them. Couldn’t you have simply auto-killed all birds with 1.14 and reset their spawners?

        Really not happy with this :(

        basically, everywhere I look, everywhere I go, there are waaaaaay too many birds. The game was running at about 3 FPS here, which effectively means this map is unplayable until the birds can be removed via a patch.

    Updated to 1.14
    Old Worlds now load correctly :)
    Found new bug or tweak in water currents…seems that now even if you are in creative mode and “flying” you cant move freely inside the water due to water currents being very powerful /=
    I’ve been doing some buildings under water in 1.12 and now it is quite difficult to continue working with them due to the strong currents that have appeared close to them.

        I have the same problem, and I’ve noticed alot of oddities with water,besides the current. I found a n underground lava cavern filled with water but the lava isn’t turning to rock?

    So you sugget killing all birds with fire? I don’t think it’s possible when there are like thousands of them… it causes the game to slow down to 2-3 fps… There is no chance to hunt these small and fast creatures down with such an abysmal framerate. I have a castle and surroundings which for now took me 150 game days to build and I can’t continue digging my dungeons… Is there any way to switch off animals completely with some parameter in save file?

          Fly far away from the animals so that they all despawn. They remove all the strings of type “Duck,2449.5,89.4,5456;Raven,2453.9,115.6,5465.1” from the Project.xml file. That should take care of them.

        Just leave empty doublequotes like that: Value=””
        You may also set CreaturesGenerated value to “False” so that the generator will place new animals there. Otherwise your area will stay empty.

    I’ve tried to grow trees in the trees right enviorment in survival mode, but It won’t work. Then if I plant the same tree in the same spot in creative mode, the tree will grow.

      How do you know the environment is right? Is there enough humidity and is the temperature right for the tree type? In creative trees always grow.
