Purple screen?

Has anyone had a purple screen after updating to 1.13? If yes, can you please give me some more details?

There are a few reviews in the marketplace with people complaining about getting a purple screen after the update. They don’t say when it occurs, so I can’t do much about it.

Please try rebooting your phone – this is likely the blank world bug

    Hey Kaalus,
I was meaning to comment on that. I got the purple screen. It appeared (for me) right after the splash screen. Uninstalling and reinstalling did not fix it. However, turning my phone off and back on did fix it.

Oh, and that was on a Lumia 900. Not sure what exactly was causing it that a soft reset fixed, but anyone else with this problem, don’t try reinstalling if you haven’t gotten a latest backup of your world file prior to trying a soft reset. I should of tried that first and ended up losing the world I was playing. Fortunately I had only made minor changes since my last backup. lol

Great info! I think the purple screen at the start may be caused by the same thing that makes terrain occasionally stop appearing. Reboot fixes it. I have a suspect here and it was the old text rendering, which was broken. This is now replaced by the new text rendering engine in 1.14, so may fix it once and for all!
