Here’s the email I got from Microsoft support today:
Thank you for contacting the Windows Phone App Hub Developer Support Team. My name is Marisa and I will be assisting you. Unfortunately, it appears that the update for your “Survivalcraft” app may have gotten stuck in the certification pipe-line. At this time, we will be forwarding this issue to our certification team to see if they can cancel the submission so that you can re-submit; we will contact you back soon with a status update. We sincerely apologize for the delay in certification for your app.
In short, it seems that my crunch before holiday was in vain :-( All the time I was on holiday the submission was stuck in the queue and they only cancelled it today. I have now resubmitted it, but it will have to start walking up the certification ladder from scratch. If we’re lucky and there are no more screwups it may be out by the end of this week.
If I had any access to the web during the holiday I might have noticed it sooner, but alas it was not to be. For the re-submission I will be looking at the progress much more closely :-)
