Alpha 1.11 still in certification

I am back, and – an unwelcome surprise – Alpha 1.11 is still sitting in the certification queue at Microsoft! No emails from them either. This is the longest it took from all the updates I have submitted so far. Microsoft must be awash in new apps or in the midst of introducing some marketplace changes. I fired a support ticket to check if everything is all right with the submission.

Anyway, in the meantime I am going to start on 1.12. The next big thing to work on are actively dangerous creatures. They will seek and try to kill the player – to give some much needed boost to the survival aspect of the game. I have some plans, but as usual I want to give them a try before spilling the beans.

Creatures that spawn underground would be cool.

Evil giant moles or something. Maybe they could be afraid of light or something.

Yah that would be cool maybe like random vampire caves or fortresses that you can go in and kill or maybe random ware wolfs that are human during the day also zombies would be awesome… We could have bounty hunters and maybe there could be devil spawns where a lot of imp could spawn… Imp are like little devils…

Kaalus mentioned he wished it realistic. All these beast are not… Pardon me for relinquishing your hopes…

No its ok I’m just trying to get ideas flowing I understand your point and yes it would be better with more realistic enemies maybe my idea would be better for a new game mode or game… I have a mote realistic idea though… What about sasquaches however you spell that from messing with sasquach… Mine craft pocket edition uses zombies but survivalcraft is based on being more realistic… Just something to think about… There could be a mode called apocalypse where you change it on to your game already created and you start where you first spawn and it shows a boat dump some green stuff in the lake and then something pops up saying apocalypse and it turns out there it was a native tribe killed on this place where you where shipped and they turn into zombies… Tell me what you think… At night there spirits reactivate!!!!!!

I definatly think we need dangerous creatures as challenging mode isnt really challenging but this game is in desperate need of transportation it just takes to long to get to the places you need to go witch i think alot of the survivalcraft community would agree with! :-D

I never heard of an elephant attacking at without provoked

He is right I think mice would be a more realistic choice because move are the ones who terrify elephants… But not really mice don’t even scare me in real life… But they could be dangerous…

  14. Posted May 14, 2012 at 14:33 | Permalink | Reply

Elephants can be -very- dangerous and sometimes need no more provocation than the wrong person/animal just being too close. Plus, there are some that like to crash villages and find their alcohol stores and get drunk and destroy stuff.

I think that there should be wolves as passive creatures as in minecraft and u should be able to have them as pets. then creatures that seek you out should be vultures(air) , alligators (water), tigers(land), spiders (underground).

A comment I would like to make though is that it is really hard to stay on te realistic side of things while making the game fun and interesting it would be better if there were creatures like in minecraft that come out in night and in caves

Since we are getting some aggressive mobs now, what are the odds of us getting some new weapons to fight them. I have mastered the spears, but I’d like some variety in that department. Maybe a knife and a sling for throwing stones.

Perhaps prehistoric animals, that way it would be entertaining without being completely fantasy-based. Prehistoric as in “Ice Age”, not “Jurassic park” prehistoric. For underground, I would consider adding a swarm of bats…

Another suggesten is that there could be natives on the land who don’t want to in their territory so they try and kill you and send animals to kill you.

    • Posted May 15, 2012 at 01:20 | Permalink | Reply

Oooh, I like this one. I mean, it lends a sinister edge to your gameplay but it’s so very realistic. So many modern societies were built on the bones of the indigenous people.

That sounds like the best idea for keeping it realistic, instead of meat they could drop random items like spears or metal
