Shadows and lighting

I have just fixed the shadowing/lighting issue that caused excessive darkening of grass, fences and other things. I can now tweak the exact amount of shadow each block casts, as opposed to all-or-nothing solution that was there before. I had to refactor the lighting code slightly, but I think the new one should not be any slower.

This is how it looks now:

On this screenshot fences have shadow of 4, grass 8. Previously everything had shadowing of 15.

That’s cool it would be awesome if you could actually make real life shadows based off of the position of the sun but that would be hard and look bad on texture packs

Just put a stand underneath it or figure out a way to have it still as you play.

Yes! Now my worlds will look much better. What about the christmas tree? What is it light level? I think it should emit light because of the chistmas tree lights.

Well, just a small amount of light, no more than a torch.

Looks better now :)) Kaalus could you add something aggressive next? A creature only spawning at night or in caves would be great!

A pack of (Dire) wolves would be interesting, they could be tameable… Albeit, perhaps it’d be much too like Minecraft. A dragon (and a lance and horse to go with it), perhaps. Haha.
