Now I get it! It’s stairs upside down.
As the first thing for 1.9 I am adding upside down stairs and possibly also slabs. Nice and easy to get warmed up (Actually not so easy – just discovered a problem with it. Life is cruel.)
In the meantime at Microsoft 1.8 is still in certification.

If you look up twice, down twice, left then right then left then right, jump, sneak, enter the inventory, then pause, this unlocks inverse gravity, enabling you to use the stairs.

I hope since 1.8 focuses on builders then for 1.9 kaalus will show us survivalist some love
It should be good, if he will focus on survival. And for survival we need some more things: saplings, map, electricity.

If the flipped stairs and slabs was a complex thing to add I wouldn’t start on them, I know they’re a small detail only. But it took me only 30 minutes to put stairs in. Until I found the issue that is. But the issue is now solved and as a bonus the solution I used seems to have speeded up mesh generation by about 10%.
