Thanks for all the feedback on survival mechanics. It is still a few updates away probably.
As I said in one of the last posts, I want to add a couple of new items in 1.7, they will accompany the new animal (which is almost ready by the way). The new items look like that:
I bet you can guess how this setup works :-) The black dots on the top item were meant to be transparent, but somehow that didn’t work out on the screenshot. But they are transparent in the game.
Apart from that you’ll also get these, but you’ve seen them already:
Water texture animation works very nicely, it added a lot of believability to the water. Now when there is a slope on the surface of the water, it looks as it is flowing, not stationary. That said, the bug with caves generated underwater still exists :-( I have thought about it for so long now, and I think I have an idea how to best fix it. Basically, when I generate a cave I will have to detect that water has been touched and fill the cave with water instead of air, but only from certain point down. All in all a complex solution, but should not slow down the generator too much.
