Alpha 1.7 progress

I hit an unexpected problem with the new animal that I am adding, basically it is bigger than a bird, and the collision system is not coping with it as I would like it to.

To take my mind off it for a while I spent a couple of hours today adding something completely different: a trapdoor. I recently noticed that it was missing. Without it all your cellar shafts are so unsafe :-)

As visible on the attached picture, trapdoors come in two flavours: wooden and iron gratings. You open and close them the same way as doors. They will become available in Alpha 1.7.

Btw. we are now up to 85 different block types, which is exactly 1/3 of all the available block IDs. But I don’t think we are going to run out of them anytime soon, because a lot of id-hungry content is already there. Anyway, it’s good to know that we can still add 170 more if needed :-)

Also in the last post I forgot to mention that self-stabbing spear problem with sneak mode should be fixed in 1.6.

    yay, a trapdoor.
    Very nice kaalus.
    Will you release it together with the new animal or will there be a internal update and with 1.8 there will be then the new animal?

      Well the article is called 1.7 progress so I think its save too say that unless he can’t fix the other animal that it’ll be the same update

        Well, asking is free :D
        As long as all stuff gets finally to my (our) phone(s), it will be fine.
        And, it’s still alpha, what will be in Beta :D (Let’s find out in the future, does anyone have a time machine? No? Well, then I have to build one :D)

        Well in a way it is already in beta cause when something is in beta stage alot of people play or use what it is, so perhaps the next huge update that may play around with the save data a few people will have to play it to find out if there are any bugs b4 it is released to the masses maybe then it will be official, this would stop what happened with the previous update from happening again 2 haha

    i’m just glad my world will be coming back to me :)

    slight question to the DEV
    when i first updated the game and attempted to start my world i noticed it had a (1.4) tag next to it, then i started it and it failed
    then i came back and looked at it again and the (1.4) was gone

    is that going to be a problem after i get next update when i attempt to start my world?

      Hi Code5. No, it should load fine. Your world was converted to 1.5, that’s why the 1.4 tag disappeared. But it still won’t load because the conversion is buggy and produced an incompatible file. In 1.6 a change was made so that it will accept this file.
