It seems the celebrations were a bit premature, as far as I know Alpha 1.5, although officially certified 24 hours ago, is still not available for download anywhere. So maybe my original estimate of Friday will turn out correct. I haven’t heard anything from Microsoft since the email, and there are rumours on the internet of some sort of delays in the HQ as found by Omega Ra here http://www.wpcentral.com/marketplace-updates-late-two-weeks-row-fragger-trapped-behind-enemy-lines.
In the meantime I am modelling the next animal to be added to Survivalcraft in the 1.6 release. This will be a land animal, and it may be dangerous sometimes :-)

I love that idea but why don’t we add mummies,fish,sea monsters,other islanders that try to kill you also add a sling shot,bow and stronger minerals like obsidian,lava,gold. I like this app very much also it would be good to have some food.

Maybe silver will be a new mineral in 1.6, think about sort, you’d need silver doors to keep them out at night, you could even use them to frame your windows or tip you spears

Well I got the update but it won’t load my map :(
It says loading then goes back to the main screen.
Im in the same boat,, Hope I dont have to start again. Making a new world works but I had to close the game and re-open it for it to show. Just to see the birds
Even after a reboot I cannot get the world to load. If I create a new world I had to reopen it for it to show too. I hope I don’t lose my world :(

On the plus side, apart from the work loading issue, this is just a great update. The world feels so much more alive now with all the birds around.
I also think that you have indeed fixed the block placing bug, now it seems to place blocks for me every time correctly, so I can now build much easier.

How to load your existing world in new update with no issues: download/install update, do NOT run game, reboot phone, start game, load existing world, enjoy. Worked for me on three phones.
Also, here’s a tip if you’re worried about losing spears and desperate for food to heal: go to beach, activate sneak mode, move toward your prey within 2-3 block’s length, tap on prey, you will not throw spear and with second tap you now have fresh, plucked raw bird ready for the oven. Tasty BBQ! Happy hunting fellow Survivalcrafters.
How do you know that would have resolved the issue for those that had it? You may not have had the issue with any of your worlds anyway. Mine is 8.5MB, I dont know if it could be size related.

I downloaded it this morning in the us. Just turn off your phone completely and then turn it back on and open up survivalcraft on the marketplace.
Go to the app in the marketplace, then press back, then into the app again.

Some type of danger is needed. Doesn’t matter if it’s a Wolf, or Zombie to me honestly as long as it presents some type of danger. I love the game, but as it is now there is nothing to fear when I venture out. Which makes it kinda boring at times.

When I try to start my saved game with this new update, it goes to the loading world screen and then back to the title screen, any idea why?

My world loaded fine kaalus. 9.19mb on my HTC radar. Best update yet. Sorry for people not loading old worlds. Just a bug I found: when I’m in sneak and look over a ledge, then throw a spear downwards over the ledge I take damage. Unfortunate when I’m low on health and hunting on a mountain. Please fix this thank you!
