Alpha 1.2 is out!

I’ve just got an email from Microsoft. I can’t see it in the marketplace yet, but it should appear there soon. Have fun! And report all bugs on the forums.

In the meantime, I’m working on the surprise feature. It has something to do with fire :-)

I think it would be something that makes fire like flint and steel in minecraft

by the way, I just submitted a review for SC in the marketplace in which I explained the impact the community was having on the development of this game. At the end of which, i (what i thought was cleverly) used the phrase “im a wp7, and survivalcraft was my idea”.

Take it or leave it :)

Awesome news Kaalus. I frequently keep checking for the update as well. No update yet but I’m sure it will be soon unless Microsoft has to refresh the servers or somthing, IDK how that works. I like surprises and we’ve had many surprises so far.

    Thanks again Kaalus

Fire sounds like a lot of fun. It would really cool, if you could make view distance configurable.I’m looking forward to the 1.2 update, sneaking will make building walls and roofs a LOT easier.

HA!! and to think the community is asking you to take a break!??!!!
I AGREE, hopefully with this next next update with the surprises, u should finish that and then take a nice good long break and let us players play the poop out of the greatest game ever… I’ve been following this site since I first heard of it (which was maybe two or three months ago, something like that… Maybe even more not sure ;-) ) but any ways, it seems like you’ve been working your butt off on this game!! And I am a big fan of it!!!! Good job And keep up the good work…. BUT take some breaks too

That’s wonderful Kaalus. You should really take a break. Its the holiday season, and everyone deserves a break. And I think that you have pretty much earned that. Anyways, now I’m gonna keep checking the Marketplace like crazy.

Hey kaalus . love the game , one of the best minecraft clones ever (even beter than the minecraft pocket edition)
I do have some suggestions tho :
    1) something needs to be done with the flowers on the floor , eg . dyes / foods etc
    2) wool would be a handy feature and would fit in with the dyes (hopefully you will consider this when making animals such as sheep)
    3) It would be nice to see a creative mode similar to the minecraft version sometime soon , but probably when there is more diversity among blocks
    4) Multiplayer/online sharing . it would be epic if you could include some form of online conectivity even if it is just sharing maps or local play , i noticed in the first release of alpha 1.0 there was a blanked out MULTIPLAYER button which then caused much disapointment when it vannished in 1.1 :(
5)also i think clothes would be a good idea , or customising character with skins , this is probably not important as you dont get to see yourself beyond the intro , but for multiplayer (if your doing it) it would be a nice finnishing touch

Thanks for the epic game , your the greatest dev ever

You should add a function that allows worlds to be pinned to the home screen. That would be cool.

    Kaalus,

I have the update, I have one suggestion for the sneak option.
It would be more intuitive if:
    1. if you tap the sneak button, it will stay on sneak mode.
    2. if you keep pressing the button for a longer time it will sneak while pressing the button, but if you let go of the button it should be back to normal.

This way if you want to sneak for a few blocks, you can keep hold of the sneak button without tapping two times, if you want to sneak for a longer time you tap on sneak, and it will sneak till you tap it again.

    Do others agree?

@andrewbay yes, that is a very good idea. However, I luv the sneeking mode in its current version. Good job, the update is AMAZING! Keep up the good work kaalus.

I’ve been waiting for this update before really devoting time to this game.

I’ve already got quite a large wooden castle to sleep in, but now I’ve driven a series of long sand causeway across the landscape to join up the various mine workings I plan to open in the next couple of days. I’ve given them high walls and occasional gates to the sides, as well as torches to allow 24 hour access! Once I get the stone works under way, I think I’ll develop a paved road network to link the various mountains and forests.

I can see this becoming a real drain on my battery!

Some of the stairs don’t work appropriately for me. It’s as if I get stuck on them, and I have to jump over them to get pass ’em. It depends though because if I put the stairs elsewhere they work fine.

Hi Burnageman. This is already fixed thanks to great bugspotters on the forums figuring out that it only happens near sea level. The fix will be out with Alpha 1.3.

I found a bug with the stairs. I had a whole lot of stone bricks I was making into stairs. 40 bricks each, when I dragged the stairs to my inventory they disappeared, all of them disappeared except the last 40 stairs.
