French wiki for Survivalcraft

Omg! There is a French wiki created for Survivalcraft, just after a week on the marketplace. Thank you to all those involved, keep up the good work!

You can check it out here: http://survivalcraft.wikispaces.com/

I see that you’ve taken textures from Minecraft to populate the pages. I think this is OK for the start, but I’ll create you a proper set of block images, just wait a moment. Textures in Survivalcraft look similar to Minecraft, but they are by no means a direct ripoff :-)

Update on the update: yesterday I made huge inroads into sleeping and spawn repositioning, it’s 80% finished.

Update for the wiki:

Here’s the blocks images and some hard data you can place next to them. You’ll need to change the “doc” extension to “zip”, this is just a regular zip file, but the blog does not let me upload it.

Blocks.zip

Thanks for setting it up!

Is anyone making a forum? I would like to do one if none already. I know Dan already voiced an interest – joint effort?

I’d love to see a forum for this.

Hi. I think the forum is a great idea. But I must say that I do not have a lot of experience with administrating forums. I set up a forum at survivalcraft.lefora.com, I think it has the best/cleanest ui from all the forums I tried. It is completely blank at the moment. I can give you guys admin access if you want.

But if you’d rather set it up somewhere else, I have nothing against it as well. Wherever it is, it would be good if it had some Survivalcraft branding & colors, and links back to this blog.

Cheers and good luck with it.

Hi Daniel. Have you found something better? If not, do you want admin access to the survivalcraft.lefora.com forum? I’d also give it to Hal and xhuntercx, because you guys all said you want the forum.

I have just finished a decent wiki, with lists of blocks, harvest times for blocks, and craftable items. It is mainly a english translation of the french wiki, but hopefully it can get more support.

PS- Does anybody know if it is possible to put a forum in the wiki?

I also didn’t realize that 4 cobblestones make stone bricks and 4 sand makes sandstone I think. I’m using sandstone to decorate my glass house. Also I’ve done a glass floor of my house with water underneath so you can see through, I was either thinking about leaving that or doing a sandstone floor underneath the glass or a lamp floor underneath for light. Can’t wait for the update to take screenshots.

Anyone want to try out the discussion section of a wiki?

Can chrome translate from French to German? I think it can but I’m not sure, it does from French to English.

What is with MediaWiki (http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki)? This wiki software translated into many languages… Also by Minecraft used, why not also for Survivalcraft use?

I have no problem with the idea of translating the French wiki, but thank you to quote on your own.

hello kallus, i have created a forum, it will be up and running in the next few days, i have some images to add and some themes to check out
i hope you dont mind, i used your “blocks.zip” package to create the logo.

its looking good, for now, if you and everyone could email me on some discussion categories they would like
    i was thinking:
    feature suggestions
    general discussion
    crafting
    competitions(maybe)
    off-survival discussion
    questions and answers
    how to
    and technical issues?

i will be doing a little more work before i head off, but as i am still a student, i will be trying my best to deliver

thanks all, hope you all enjoy the concept, and just for the record, it does exist… :D

    tah :)

oh and my email is callum.james.yates@live.co.uk
