Progress on the 1st update

Today I added a lot of new stuff to the settings. You can now change move and look touch panels sensitivity and maximum tap time – this should help some people who had problems with taps not registering reliably. Generally a lot of values to do with input were tweaked and the system should hopefully now work better. There is also a slider to change brightness, this should solve problems people had with too dark display on non-amoled phones.

I am in the process of adding iron and one more surprise ore and metal. After that I will start on “suicide button” (useful in case of getting stuck) and a way to change respawn position.

I just realized that in case of any problems with Survivalcraft, there is no way I could get any debugging data out of the phones. Survivalcraft produces a log, but it sits in isolated storage, inaccessible to anything other than Survivalcraft itself. Actually the log may even be disabled in the release build because of that, not sure :-) Anyway, I need to think of something.

Sounds great. The game will be much better when you can play at night. A few more blocks would be great too, some special metals for very strong tools or something like that. because now there isnt a reason for exploring the world and mining deep. (my english isn’t good I know. Im german)

    Great news.
I bought SC two days ago and I like it, because I like minecraft.
Perhaps I start to play SC, when the new update is released.

With the debugging, why don’t you collect the debuglogs and send them per mail or upload it on a server?
If you do so, you must ask the user for his permission, but it’s a way to get your logs.

    Continue with your work.

P.S: Sorry for my english, I’m student and I’m learning atm.

For the feedback, take a look on the article of Rene Schulte It is Silverlight so you had to use your own Messagebox, but as far as I know the emailComposeTask should work from XNA. For unhandled Exceptions consider to adapt “Little Watson” from Andy Pennell Both are using email as message channel but you can easily adopt to other forms of message transport.

you may not like the idea, but you could have some grape vines, bananas on trees stuff like that, easy, i think :P

Food is definitely coming, but not in the first update yet. As a stopgap measure, health will slowly regenerate after first update is released.

You can make a light by placing a piece of coal on top of a plank. For the healing, you need to wait for the update.

    Hey, nice game guy!
But I have questions. Is it possible to play your previously built maps after the update? Can i find iron on these maps?

Hi cruux. The update should not invalidate the old maps. Iron will be there in areas where you have not mined or built anything.
