Quick update on progress with the first update

Torches are still not fully done, but they already render. In pink. So no screenshots yet :-)

More importantly, I refactored the lighting code a bit, fixed a few bugs there and doubled light propagation distance without seeing too much performance degradation. Should make lighting those caves and houses much easier.

It would be nice if you could add a automatic jump function when you are walking against a one block high obstacle :D

When it gets dark I can see nothing at all and can’t walk anywhere because I can’t see. Is that normal?

I guess we should have a brightness setting in the options. Other people have noticed that it gets too dark at night as well. Thanks for reporting.

It would be kind of nice if, until torches are released, it didn’t get dark. It’s rather difficult to play at night as it currently is.

Never mind, after I found coal, the game made a lot more sense at night.

the game when it comes to UI and controls is almost perfect as is, in my opinion. it’s lacking sneak which i know you’ve already mentioned. when i watched the video on youtube i thought “wow is that ugly circle going to be there the entire time?” lol but when you’re actually playing it makes sense, i cant even imagine playing without it. the only updates this game needs are stuff you’ve already mentioned you’re working on.

Just saw this game on the feeds and took a gander. All I can say is WOW! I have played with Pocket Minecraft on my Nook Color + HD2, but it is limited to creative mode only right now. This is already beyond that with a simple survival mode already in place as well as day/night, water physics, crafting, truely epic. Also great idea leaving options to set the resolution ingame. My Arrive can’t push full quite good enough, but I bet a Titan/Focus S with the Adrino 205 could with ease.

I had to buy this right after the first trial timelimit ended. I do advise having more like a 10 minute trial so people could really get a feel for what the game may offer and have a little time to explore. The worlds look great and I can see this only getting much much better.

Like others have said, we need a crafting guide unless you are following the exact same design as Minecraft (Maybe a few hints to get started at least, ;) ) and a auto jump for when you are just walking around would be nice as well.

Also the boxes for the touch zones should be replaced with circular ones off the edge of the screen so there is a more clear “center” to the control as I find it is really hard to find a straight Foward movement without a little guessing in the boxes to start from.

Asside from that, the game is already epic in my book, and I cannot wait for future progress. Full survival mode, maybe a little adventure element, combat, and multiplayer will make this game the top Marketplace app for years to come.

Bought it, and have been playing it for a while now. I am still confused on a few different things, and cannot for the life of me figure out how to make torches to light the night (if there are any yet.) I know you are working on them, and being able to make doors might be nice, too. I like the look and feel of the game, and am very impressed with it for being so new. The movement controls are a little tricky at first, but easy to pick up. I agree with everyone that a recipe guide might be a good addition. So far, there aren’t too many problems and I haven’t found many glitches. I do think that perhaps when you are chopping low on a tree, the entire tree should fall down, maybe make cutting trees take a little longer and then have the entire tree turn into wood. There are a lot of floating tree tops and leaves in my world right now!

Same as Minecraft. Maybe down the road he will have a craftable Map and Compass but for now. Be creative about landmarks. ;)

I’ve really enjoyed playing it. I haven’t got any feedback just yet (except frozen movements after trial become purchased and started saved map) but I have some feature suggestions on upcoming updates.

    1. It would be just so great to have similar crafting as on minecraft (I know you might don’t want to copy it, I understand that, but it would be so much easier and less confusing.

    2. Proper crafting manual, perhaps here at this blog (make sure mobile users will see this link)

    3. Please consider some work on gpu optimization, normal quality runs good, but picture isn’t that great, you have omnia 7 like me, you know what I mean. I know adreno 200 isn’t a perfect solution for gaming.

    4. Focus on most important gaming features, like creatures, sooner you’ll release it sooner you’ll have a feedback (it should be done before mp IMHO :) ).

    5. Some people saying about adding cursor on a centre of the screen, my advice is to use lighting, so it will be highlited or negative. Screen should be clear and minimalistic.

I’ll give you some feedback later, after I’ll play it properly. But its hard without torch.

Anyway this is awesome game, I don’t like to call it clone :)

Dunno if ithis is possible but if you can store the worlds on skydrive or something so when we switch phones or have to reset aren’t forced to loose all that work. Especially since it’s upgrade season with the new phones coming out. All considered great start!
