Tool damage

Yesterday I did some work on the first update and managed to get the tools damage in. It made me understand why you cannot stack damageable tools in Minecraft.

Green dots will fade as the tool wears out.

Next things to follow are either support for custom mesh blocks (allows torches, fences) or creatures (allows mobs). Funny, it’s almost like playing Civilization, core tech advances bring new stuff you can add :-)

Creatures is the big one. There’s no proper survival mode without other living things in the world. I’ve done some work on that already, and hopes are that what’s remaining will not be too time consuming. I have some ideas as to what mobs I want to add first when this is done. As I said before, I don’t want to go along the fantasy route. I prefer more realistic animals, at least initially. By realistic I mean “not supernatural”, but not necessarily totally real either. Zombies? They may come later :-)

It is in certification now, so may be anything from hours to several days. It’s all in Microsoft hands now. As for the price, I want to keep it a surprise until it hits the marketplace :-)

It would be great if u could make it so that we could ‘try’ the game before we buy it and what not… Anyway the game looks great
And is it possible to tell if it will work for the wp7 HTC surround???? (with out lag?…like on the video you showed us eariliar?) if not it… Then i guess I’ll have to wait and see…..

That’s great progress. I vote for torches and fences first :)

Is the device you tested this on a 2nd gen (1.4 ghz) or 1st gen device (1.0 ghz)? Just curious as most have old devices, but I plan on upgrading to the Titan this weekend

And torches is what I started doing actually :-)
It was tested on a Samsung Omnia 7 as you can see in the video, which is a 1st gen device with 1GHz CPU and Adreno 200.

Are you going to make the multiplayer a priority, and how will it work because I thought Microsoft prohibited the ability to use Bluetooth to connect multiple devices. I keep checking the marketplace :).
