Inventory

Inventory functionality with drag/drop is now done, all via the cool GUI system I wrote about before. I’m still unsure how to do item stack splitting on WP7. In Minecraft on PC left-drag and right-drag can be used to distinguish between whole stack drag and single item drag. On the phone there is no such luxury. I’m thinking that maybe a special “splitter” slot could be created that splits whatever is put in it into neighboring slots. Or maybe doubletapping on any slot will split its contents into free neighboring slots. Not sure yet.

I’ll probably try to finalize inventory layout next, and add some basic crafting. Crafting is cool, and should be quite easy to add to the framework I created so far. Without crafting there would be no way to have e.g. glass or lights.

The UI still desperately needs art pass to make it look less placeholder-like.
