I am still working on the farming. As you can see on the screenshot below, Survivalcraft now has nicely depressed soil blocks.
Plants will only grow to their full extent on soil blocks, which are properly hydrated and fertilized. In addition to that, my plan is that different types of plants will require different parameters of soil – yet to be determined. Hopefully this will work out, although I am foreseeing several problems.
The way I see it now, you will also be able to plant everything even on plain dirt, but it will never grow too big.
I still haven’t decided which plants to include and how many growth stages to give them.
Those who follow me on Twitter saw that I am adding some new horny and feathery animals to the game. This is true, I think 1.22 will have the largest batch of new animals yet. You have already seen the Rhino and the Orca, and I will post some videos of the remaining ones once I finalize them.
Adding animals is fun, but each new type consumes between 50 and 100kB of RAM on the device. I can foresee the moment when 256MB devices won’t be able to handle any more :-(

A plant idea: hemp, it can be use to make string and clothes. Plus if combined with a curved stick, it can make a bow. So with that in mind I just gave you A small amount of things that hemp can be used for

they should make villagers. and you can get sick from eating raw meat and you puke and then you have to find a village with friendly villagers to take care of you and they have herbs and stiff to cure you!

Add some plants to grow and NOT wheat, corn etc. Thats boring. You can add tomatoes, berries, cucumber, melon, mais etc

Some crops u can add could be corn,wheat,beans,and squash. The 3 sisters(Indian crops). U can cook corn in the furnace with a bucket of water beside it. U can make wheat in2 bread. And u can cook beans in the furnace. Do u like my ideas?

I think u should give plants 3 stages. Seed,sprout,and finally,adult. I think it should take maybe 1 game week or at least 3 game days for crops 2 grow. If u give them fertilizer(cow droppings(eww!) and rotten crops) they grow faster. Also,there should b a 50/50 chance of crops getting eaten by bugs. Then the crops won’t be any good. Maybe there could be something to put on crops to prevent the bugs. Then maybe it could be a 30/70 chance of crops being eaten(I’m not good at math,but I hope u get the point). Sorry I didn’t put all my comments into 1,ideas just pop in and out(mostly out) of my head.
Oh,and since u introduced farming,maybe u can make poisonous wild berries. If u eat them,u get poisoned. Also,there could b non-poisonous berries. U can farm them. Maybe if u find rare berries seeds,and grow them,u can get cured by the poision berries.
Like the poison berry idea maybe he could add bamboo and we could craft dart guns with and darts… The darts could be combined with the poisonous berries and used to stun or paralyze animals for a short time… Not sure what the darts would e made out of, cactus needles maybe… Also how about some under water plants like seaweed which could be consumed giving us some reasons for entering the ocean and using the boat…
SC is becoming a more dangerous place which is awesome but I think we need a little more protection especially with the stamina and the fact that food will no longer regenerate health which is why I suggested the dart gun
I like the dart gun idea. I sent the same idea to Kaalus months ago and he seemed to like it. I also suggested being able to make poison or sleep darts from different plants.
Maybe if we put a cactus in a crafting table,it will give us needles. Then,we put berries on top of needles. After that,we get a bamboo stalk. We put the bamboo and needles together,and we get poison dart gun.
Hey I’ve got the way you can craft a poison dart you would need cactus needles poison from poison berries and iron then boom you’d have a poison dart for a gun.

I would suggest different crops for different survival purposes. Like lettuce that grows fast but only fills you up a little, and beans that grow slowly but fill you up a lot. No matter what you chose to include, I’m sure it will be great:)
Just make it possible to plant things on soil, because not everyone will understand the reason of soil if you can do it everywhere. But I love that you take this feature in to the game :-)

I just had an idea why don’t you make the number of tongs on the rake or hoe or whatever equivalent to the number of lines put in the dirt. It only makes sense.

Kaalus the farming is nice but I think I speak for a lot of people when I say can you add NPC villages(Indian or pioneer) and the pioneers could have boat docks with boats similar to the one that maroons us on the world and we could get on the boats and go to a new land with all we can carry. Also an alternate dimension like the the nether from MC would would be cool the portal could be made from germanium blocks if you add the block. Please just think about, XsuperllamaX

Klaaus first thanks for your updates we appreciate you keeping us in the loop…second on the more animals taking up more RAM. What about adding a select button in the options to spawn a world whith X animal types where X is limited by the processor…this way you can develop for newer devices but allow older devices ro downgrade on processing juice required if needed…
The selector could have a dropdown list of desired animals to choose from…just a thought

very awesome indeed. But why not make the plants biom dependent. Berries in snowy araes. Dates or figs in the desert. wheat and corn in tropical araes with a water block max. 15 blocks away.

Good idea. But if that happens then some devices may not hold all that space. I think kaalus should make it to were you can spawn on islands or a continent
Awesome idea! Perhaps Kaalus is looking at this feature, which is why he included deep sea creatures and boats and the swimming stamina. Because honestly, i cant be bothered to go into the ocean at the moment. So there must be a reason why Kaalus is adding all this.

This game is awesome but I think that it only needs 3 thing it needs npc villages like some Indians tribes and you can attack,trade or coexist with them they have spears and wooden houses, also I think this game really needs zombies, after you build a house you get really bored because animals can’t kill you, so after you build a house you are safe, I think if the game had zombies it would be alot more exiting ,they would randomly appear during the night and would die after 2 days of starvation, and the npc villages would have to fight them off too sometimes they will get overwhelmed and die, last thing you should be able to choose the animals in the game like for example you should be able to choose cows,bears,wolfs,seagulls,ravens,sharks and so on if you don’t want an expesific animal you just don’t chose it and there you can choose weather you want zombies or not in your world, also there should be a spawning ration of zombies so you can put it high or low so more or less zombies would spawn, I hope I gave you zombies ideas on what you can add and I hope to see them in the future updates.

Hello to all. Kaalus,you did a great game,really.Don’t stop to make us happy. Especially I want to thank you for news from you.
I have some ideas and many of them were discussed here.
1)I hope that someday you will add more mechanical and electrical devices to the game.I have seen a video about stream engine,it sounds pretty cool.Also we need to be able to construct really complex devices.
2)I think that sime kind of villagers also will be useful for us.For now I feel myself like Robinson without Friday.
3)Being friends with animals is also good enough for Surviving Hero.We have a lot of examples in literature such as Tarzan,Mowgli,etc.

I love what you have done to add farming.Here’s some crops I’d LOVE to have:
1. Wheat- to make bread
2.Cotton-to MAYBE make clothes
3.Pumpkins (that you could grow and make them out of the pumpkins now)- infinite FOOD :p
4. Berries- any type, like strawberry or blueberry
5. Apple, Palm, Coconut, Banana Trees would be nice to have a varity

p.s. Maybe you could add something the giraffe drops… like leather, or cotton (if you add it)

Hi kaalus, your doing great with the new update coming soon can’t wait for it! But I have an idea for the next update. It is a sea animal and its the biggest mythological sea animal. Can you add the kraken in the next update please. If you don’t know what the kraken is go on Google and search kraken images.

How to make a rake ?
I absolutely LOVE this game. At first I was like should i spend my money on this. Then I was like why haven’t I spent my money on this! Anyways I hope to see these in the next update or later:
-More rideable animals (zebras, ostriches, ect)
-tameable animals that fight with you
-Fishing
-fruit trees (apple, oranges ect and you can craft seeds like flowers)
– tents for an easy shelter
And I know your trying to keep the game real but how about a rideable flying animal like a Pegasus (I chose that because it’s like a horse) you already have werewolves and it would be cool to fly in survival :)
Please don’t be overwhelmed with these suggestions I’m just trying to help :)
